Hi folks! Today i'll bring you a guide to enabling all the basebands in qualcomm manufactured phones, focused in Moto Z Play.
Since a lot of us got the Chinese version of this phone, i have been reading a lot of people complaining about signal problems and that's cause the MZP CN comes with band 800 only. Now i made this guide to show you how to enable the base bands in our phones (and other Qualcomm phones, so feel free to share it).
First of all, you have to get all the things to work, these are:
USB Cable of your phone
A working PC with Windows
QPST and mztool software
QDLoader HS-USB Drivers
I have uploaded the QPST with MZTool and the Drivers for your convenience, since this software have the capability to modify the imei, i can't upload directly to xda.
QPST is here
Drivers are here
Well, first of all, we have to make a backup of our radio partition, if something goes wrong or if you lost your imei in the future, etc.
For doing this we will have to turn off your phone, then start it in bootloader mode (vol down and power), and then scroll to "QCOM" and press power.
Then you have to plug the cable to your computer and install the Drivers and the QPST Software, if you had installed previously don't worry, just wait 'till the PC recognize the phone and install it, it should look like this

After installing the device drivers, you should start saving the backup, for doing this, open program QFIL in the QPST folder in Start menu of your computer, then going to Tools tab and selecting "Backup/Restore QCN" option like this
Then select the folder to read/write the .qcn file (this will be the backup, so you can change the filename and the destiny folder).
Later open RF NV Manager, but first of all, you must close QFIL and open QPST Configuration program from the QPST Start Menu Folder, then open RFNV Manager (if this last one doesn't come up in the QPST Start folder, don't panic, just search for it in bin folder at QPST install folder and open the program from there)
In RF NV search for tab Setting > Comport, and in the drop down menu look for the COM port that matches with the one in the QPST Config program or the one in Windows Device Manager, then select from tab File > Read from Phone, and wait 'till it finishes. After this, scroll down in the items left box to number 1877, this is were the basebands are written, click on this and a number should appear at the right box like this
Then open mzTool and select on "Band Preference" tab the basebands you want to enable, then look for the decimal number in the right lower part and write it on RF NV, then select 'Write NV' box upper from the box you entered the code, click this a couple times just to be sure it's done
Then reboot your phone on normal startup, open the dialer and press *#*#4636#*#* to open the testing menu, and then select the phone info menu, then in the scroll down (the vertical three dots) select the radio you want to use, and that's all!
Attach files to your post or reupload files to zippyshare please. Google removed them.

Seriously we can get the Droid version and it work as unlocked?
Can it enable AT&T LTE bands on Chinese version?
Is there any way for me to use a baseband version after which i might be able to enable Volte which is not working on my rom. I am on darkness redefined rom.
i posted the similar method for enabling bands
it does display all bands supported. but actually it doesn't
i think all bands working unless mod the radio file
same tutorial in mzp thread of)'enabling dual sim in single sim device' ?
QPST link is dead.
Anyone confirm this is working? Could we upgrade to Droid MZ2 Play and enable other bands?
Hi! May I ask about the same tutorial for Moto G5S Plus (XT1804) to extend the LTE bands with the European ones? (I have Indian phone).
MZP CN comes with band 800 only

What does this mean? I have the RETCN variant and I'm currently connected to LTE. My operator supports LTE bands B3 and B40.
Update: just tested with Network Signal Guru and my ohone is connected to Band 07 (2600) so that one is supported too. Am I missing something?
xt1635-02 on verizon
Is it possible to use this tutorial to bring my xt1635-02 to verizon? Would I have to flash the verizon xt1635-01 rom with RSD Lite?
Hello!!
Thank you so much for your manual, it is great
do you know where i can find QPST for this purpose?

The guys over at the Sony Cross-Device forums wrote this up to unlock all bands on Qualcomm boards. Theoretically, it could work on this device too right?

PLEASE DO NOT MIRROR THESE FILES!
Requirements:
root
ability to use mouse and keyboard
terminal emulator on your phone
What do you get for doing this?
Propably you'll be able to use a lot more bands than before. Most likely your phone will work on every place in the world now.

after
1. Download this zip http://d-h.st/0Me
2. Extract it and install QPST from that zip
3. Open the caller app and type in *#*#8778#*#* (it should go off the screen after you type in the last symbol "*"
4. Connect your phone to your PC
5. Open ADB console
6. Type in these commands:
Code:
adb shell
su
setprop persist.usb.eng 1
7. Turn off USB Debugging, Disconnect your phone from the PC
8. Wait about 10 seconds (don't have to be exact, just let it all disconnect in the PC) and turn USB Debugging back on
10. Connect it back to the PC. It should try to install drivers. Wait until it fails to install all of them.
11. Open device manager - you will see your device model a few times. Go to details tab. Scroll down a single time on that tab. You will see MI_0x there.
12. Go through those devices until you find MI_04 under the second drop down position.
13. Select "update driver" for this device and install the htc driver from the zip.
14. Press start button and navigate to QPST -> QPST Configuration
15. Go back to device manager -> modems -> HTC
16. Find "COM*" in my case it was "COM3". It might be different for you.
17. In QPST Configuration click on "Add new port" and in "Port" type in your "COM*". In my case It's "COM3" in there. In Port label it could be anyting u want. In my case I used a Z1 so I typed IN "Z1".
18. It should look like this now.
19. Navigate to QPST/bin and open RV_NV_Manager.exe
20. press on settings -> Comport and choose your COM port.
21. Press on file -> read from phone
22. Wait patiently until it is finished. Now pay attention!
23. Go to line 1877, click it and copy the decimal number on the right side of a programme. right click - copy
24. Go to the place where you extracted the zip from the first step and start mzTool
25. On the left side you will see "Input radix" - press decimal there.
26. On the right side you will see "RF BC CONFIG" paste your previously copied number from the RV_NV_Manager.exe there.
27. You will see now what bands are you able to use on the bottom of the app in "Bit information"
28. Switch tab to "Band Preference (NV Value)"
29. In there select all GSM bands and WCDMA bands. This place is really a field of testing. In my case (C6903 LTE) I selected all of GSM and WCDMA. I wouldn't suggest you to do anyting else in here unless you know what your'e doing. Let me know if you got something interesting in there.
30. After you're done choosing what bands do you want - copy decimal number from the bottom right
31. Remove all commas from that number ( "," ) so it would be just a bunch of numbers without anything else.
32. Open RV_NV_Manager.exe from the point you left it (step 23) and paste your new number without commas "," there.
33. Press on write NV and then press on file ->write changed NV to the phone.
34. Open up the terminal emulator on your phone and write there this:
Code:
su
setprop persist.usb.eng 0
35. Reboot the device and hope you'll have the reception. If you do, hooray!
36. Type in *#*#SERVICE#*#* (*#*#7378423#*#*) to see your new bands that your phone can use!
If your phone can't boot then flash stock FTF to your device and you should have your reception back!
Enjoy!
I wanted to mention that I'm just the guy that was interested in this and the person that actually made it possible is @BlackSoulxxx all thanks go to him! He's the guy that did it! Please thank him in the second post!

regards,
I've been trying to open the UMTS band VIII, for my Galaxy S5 T-Mobile without any progress, My Galaxy now has the Version 4 of the Phoenix ROM with its own kernel, update the Baseband to G900TUVU1BNH5, the Kernel is 3.4.0 Kernel Ver 2.0 PhoeniX and the number of compilation is KOT49H.G900FXXU1ANH6, install the latest drivers from Samsung and use both Windows 7 and Windows XP (both with Administrator permissions), also use QXDM (Version: 03.12.714) and QPST (Version: 2.7 Build 362), using the code * # 0808 # Access the USB menu and select RNDIS + DM + MODEM, the problem is when I use QXDM to edit the Nvitem 1877, I first write a "0" to enable writing and then write the decimal value to enable the band VIII (562950069289856) I do the same for NVitem 2954 I put a "0" and I write the decimal value (131072) and so far so good then I press the button "write", and the program writes the values to the phone, this I know, because without restart the phone, close the QXDM and QPST, disconnect the phone, then connect again, and run back both Programs and seeking the NVitem edited and there appear the values that putted but when I reboot the phone these returned to their initial values as if they had been edited never .
I know several have done so, even I known a Senior Member (fffft) who was the first posting and helped me with this issue initially, but for reasons that someone plagiarized his material, he decided to close the post where he was helping me.
anyone can help me with this particular? I have changed several kernels (AOSP), and even several ROMs, I used the original Samsung Cable and microUSB generic one.
I've even tried using other NV editors with the same result.
I need to open the band because in my country is where my service provider offers HSDPA + whe the LTE coverage it's no supported
Thanks in advance
Hello,
Please does anybody have the correct Qualcomm Diagnostic Driver for Huawei P8Lite ALE-L04? I am trying to tweak my phone (LTE Band modify) but cant see it in diagnostic mode on my Win 10 PC's Device Manager - and so also cant see it on QPST even after installing a qualcomm driver i got from the net. If I add the COM port on QPST, it sees it as a non-diagnostic connection and so doesnt actually see the phone as connected.
Also, if there are lots of drivers that can work but I'm not setting it up properly on my PC, can someone pls send me correct procedure - and maybe one of the correct drivers? Thank you all.
Maybe you need to switch the USB mode.
Dial *#*#2846579#*#*, Background Settings -> USB Port Settings, select Manufacture Mode
Post updates! I'd like to try something similar.

I have already applied all the above settings and allowed the default modem driver to install even before my original post.
Under Device Manager -> Modems, my device appears as "Android Adapter Modem" on COM Port 9 while:
Under Device Manager -> Ports (COM & LPT), my device shows as "Android Adapter PCUI (COM6)" and "DBAdapter Reserved Interface (COM5)".
Then on QPST, even after adding the COM9 port, the phone is not seen and therefore both QPST and QXDM cannot connect to it.
If I had the correct MSM8939 Qualcomm Diagnostic driver - or I can be shown how to switch the phone to go directly into diagnostic mode, I believe it can then be seen by QPST (as MSM8939 Diagnostic port, I think) and so can connect to QXDM.
Please any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Can you set "Qualcomm background open setting" to open?
It asks for a password, I just figured out any 16-character string (e.g. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa) works (KiteKat B111 official ROM). But slill I get "Qualcom background unlock failed"...
I've used several password to try and open the Project Menu -> Background Settings -> Background Debug but none works. Even tried my bootloader unlock code. Do you have any password code I could try?
Please and pleeeaase, does anybody have the code to set Qualcomm background debug to "OPEN" in the hope that I can enter "diagnostic mode" and use QPST+QXDM on my phone?
Or is there a driver I can use on the P8-Lite ALE-L04 Qualcomm MSM3989 chipset to connect to it in diagnostic mode on QPST? Any help will really be appreciated cos i've:
1. tried a range of drivers both from xda and the internet - and non can connect my phone to my PC in diagnostic mode - probably because they are not the tailored driver for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 chipset
2. tried to contact Huawei severally but got no response from them.
3. even searched thru qualcomm website and contacted them but they told me they're a "technology provider" and therefore dont answer product specific questions. They advised i contact Huawei. Again.
Alternatively, is there another method for modifying the phone's LTE band without using QPST and QXDM?
Thanks in advance for any help.
I was only able to decompile the Java part of the ProjectMenuAct.apk that is responsible for the hidden menu (it's odexed, the virtual machine code is not in the .apk, but in ProjectMenuApk.odex file), and it was the 4.4 KitKat official ROM.
The Java code verifies the password is 16 characters long. If it's not, a message says the password is wrong. If the password has the correct length, it's sent to some native ARM code (maybe libprojectmenu.so), which I couldn't decompile (too advanced for me)... The native code returns an error that the 'backgroud unlock' was not successful, maybe it needs some other password.
For deactivating the 'background unlock' the Java code uses '0000000000000000' default password.
I got stuck here, I got rid of the phone (and got another one with similar problem .
Still stuck with my ALE-L04 and cant modify the LTE band to use Band 28 here. Any help?
Meanwhile, is there no available OEM or even better a Custom ROM for ALE-L04 to Android 6 so I can upgrade and see if it helps unlock Project menu/Background Debug and I can connect in Diagnostic Mode to QPST & QXDM and modify LTE band?
Merry Christmas!
Hi! I have a Y635-L01. Stuck in the same place here. Any news about this? I've tried the bootloader unlock code (which is also a 16-digit number), but without luck.
I'm trying to get the code from the seller, which happens to be a big carrier in Spain, but it's kind of difficult since I don't have a subscription (or a SIM card, for that matter) with them. I only bought the phone, unlocked.
Hello Guys! Yesterday I was experimenting with my Yureka and accidently I lost IMEI of my phone. I searched YuPlayGod as well as XDA. There are some methods to recover/restore/change IMEI but unfortunately they are not working or they are too difficult to follow for a normal user. I kept searching for the solution and finally came to this. This work is not mine and the credit goes to the respective authors. I just have wrote this tutorial for the reference!
Beware: Changing IMEI is illegal. This tutorial is for those who are having their valid IMEI and have accidently lost during flashing or recoving from a brick. Please refer to your country law for the same.
**Although this tutorial is fully tested as I just have recovered my IMEI, yet I take no responsibility if something wrong happens with your device.**
Difficulty level: Easy
Things Required:
A PC or a laptop with windows as the Operating System, ADB driver installed
Qualcomm USB Composite Device 901D Driver (Link Given)
CKT Qwrite_Writer Tool (Link Given)
2 valid IMEIs to write. Refer to the box or bill for IMEI. It must be there
Your Yureka and a USB data cable
Step 1
Assuming your Yu is rooted. If not, Root it. Enable USB debugging. Install Terminal Emulator and type in the following commands in sequence
$ su
# setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
Click to collapse
This basically enables USB Diag mode of your phone. Now connect your phone to PC. You would see something like “Installing device driver software” which would fail eventually. Don't worry! We are about to install the Driver.
Step 2
Extract Qualcomm USB Composite Device 901D Driver at a easy to reach location and install it. There is no executable to install. You will have to install it manually using the Device Manager. See Post 2 for instruction.
Step 3
Assuming you have done the previous 2 Steps. Now the original task begins. Extract CKT Qwrite_Writer Tool to any easy to reach location and run an executable “Qwrite_Writer.exe”. You should see the following window.

The left side is to write the IMEI, Right side is to Read.
In left side, IMEI_1 : Enter your first IMEI and check the checkbox associated with it.
In left side IMEI_2: Enter your second IMEI and check the checkbox associated with it.
** Leave other things as it is. Do not touch any other setting as you may mess with it **
Now Click the start button at the Right side of the Message Box. And voila! You got your IMEI back  :good:

Hi man,
at first I want to thank you, this helped me to unbrick my phone, but ofcourse I did deleted my IMEI, SN and so on.
I know there are few ways how to change it, but none seems to work for me so far. I have the right drivers (v 1.1.13), but not any program is able to connect to my phone except to SP flash tool.
So my question is. Is there any way how to root this version of andriod?
I have already tried Kingroot, RomasteruSU, framaroot and not even MTK Engineering mode was not able to help me change IMEI.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
tried to do exactly what is there, but still no luck. I had only APDB before, so I hoped to be successfull this time with MD1_DB.
But what happened. I already had drives and SN writer (2.1504), but downloaded older version (1.1728) anyway. Got into point where phone was connected and in meta mode. The newer version of SN Writer gave me error message pretty fast and calceled meta mode. See SN writers error message img. below.
I have also tried older version, it took bit more time, then it asked me to fill my IMEI for a second time, but ended up with error message again after that. The only thing different was that phone stayed in meta mode. Put second print screen error as well.
Any suggestions?

Hello everybody.
I wanted to unlock an BTV-DL09 [ Android 7 EMUI 5.04 EU ], but I'm stuck like the_wing was.
Modem no found !
Phew, got it unlocked! Moments of terror when entering the commands on the cmd...
A few mentions where I got stuck that may help someone else:
Regarding point 3:
In case your model has LTE (i.e. BTV-DL09), you actually should have a dialer application that you have to use instead of the calculator app, which didn't work for me. This is also mentioned in the DC unlocker app. In case you do it with the dialer, you have to enter following code: *#*#2846579#*#*
Regarding point 4:
Inside the "DC unlocker" app, I also got the "device not found" error, and I was wondering why. Two things I noticed:
- To enable USB debugging, it was not sufficient for me to activate the switch in the developer options, as the default USB mode for me is "charging only". I had to change it to i.e. "Device File Manager (MTP)" by tapping on the notification and then re-activate USB debugging in the developer options (which turned off after switching to MTP mode) to get USB debugging working.
- After enabling "manufacturer mode", the mode was turned off as soon as I quit the menu. So I had to stay in the menu to make sure manufacturer mode is on.
- You can check your device manager in Windows to see if the current mode is active: When doing USB debugging, the device "Android Composite ADB Interface" should show up under "Android Phone" list, whereas when you turn on manufacturer mode, some COM ports should show up under "Ports (COM and LPT)"; the one DC unlocker is searching should be named "Android Adapter PCUI". If you got some devices with not properly installed drivers you should consider installing HiSuite software on Windows first.
Regarding point 8
- When I bought the credits for DC unlocker for PayPal, I had to click on a link arrived to the PayPal e-mail for confirming your account. I then still got the "Server login error", but closing and reopening DC unlocker eventually fixed it.
Hope this helps! Happy unlocking to everybody!

I have installed Hisuite and Huawei data card driver.
Impossible to activate Device File Manager (MTP) and manufacturer mode, one deactivates the other, I do not know if this is the problem, but according to the tutorials it is a must.
I have a hard time understanding where the problem comes from, I even tested different USB cable, Win 7 and Win 10, I really did everything, but I'm dried.

I finally managed to unlock the bootloader, DC unlocker did not show me information from the tablet, but despite this, I could go to the next step and proceed with the unlocking, it is because of a msie security update according to Valdemaras on cd-unlocker forum, thanks to him.
