In this thread - Update LG G4 H818P to android 7 by LG-H815 Official v29A.
@hochocnua upgrade H818P to v29A using the LG Poland Official v29A firmware zip which comes from here.
And this thread, I'll guide you upgrade your H815 Locked-Bootloader to the v29A.
oh.. okay, I almost forgot the important thing

Important information:
Only tested on LG G4 H815-TWN ver.
I'm not responsible for other G4 variants (exclude H818P and H815)
Before flashing it to another variant G4, you must take upon oneself the consequences
AND WARNING! IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEM, PLZ SEARCH IN THIS FORUM OR GOOGLE!!!
Notice: If you need a Traditional Chinese Guide (中文教學)? Go here or here
This GUIDE use OFFICIAL FIRMWARE by LG, and there's new 7.0 TOT released, can be easily to-do, search it by yourself in G4 forum
Prepare these:
1. A heart full of determination <- Go play Undertale
2. LG Mobile Driver for Windows
3. LGUP with 8994 DLL
4. LG ADB pack (which include Send_Command.exe)
5. FlashFire v6.0 (the lastest version on Play Store will fc in 5.1)
6. LG Poland Official H815 v29A firmware zip
7. LG Taiwan H815 v10F KDZ
8. a rooted system.img of H815 v10F
Unnecessary:
Backup data using LG Backup
Backup photo using Google Photos or save them to your pc
Backup other data to your external SD card, and remove it from your phone
If you bricked your phone, try to flash this thru LGUP
LG Taiwan H815 v20E KDZ
Installation:
We need to downgrade 6.0 to 5.1 before flash Nougat
1. Check Anti-rollback version in *#546368#*815# -> SVC Menu -> Version Info (Important!!!)
If the value is 0, fine, goto step 2
If the value is v1, v2, v3 or above, DON'T USE THIS GUIDE OR BRICK YOUR PHONE
2. Install LGUP and Driver, shutdown your phone, goto Download mode by press Vol-UP, connect to your pc
You should see Firmware Update shows up on your screen
3. Open LGUP, select REFURBISH, and choose BIN file "H81510F_00_0113.kdz", press Start button
Code:
On the LGUP you first need to select :
1. UPGRADE
2. Choose the .kdz file
3. Go back to REFURBISH
4. Start ( Begin the flashing of the device ).
( thanks @lekk for these missing guide :) )
4. When rebooted, do a simple set, and go to Setting -> Backup & reset -> Factory data reset
Reboot again, do a simple set, copy rootsystem20160214.img & eu.chainfire.flash.v6.apk & LG-H815_Official_v29A.zip to internal storage
5. Shutdown and goto Download mode again, open LG ADB pack, double ports.bat , you should see\Device\XXXXDIAG1 REG_SZ COM#
The # is a random number, remember it, we'll use that at next step
6. Open cmd and change to same folder, type
Code:
Send_Command.exe \\.\COM#
"#" is the number what we just seen in ports.bat
You should see Enter, Leave and a #, copy
Code:
dd if=/data/media/0/rootsystem20160214.img bs=8192 seek=55296 count=529920 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0
then press enter
Wait a while, another # will appear, pull out battert and reboot
We finally downgrade to 5.1 with root, and now we gonna flash Nougat
7. Now you should see SuperSU in your app drawer, install eu.chainfire.flash.v6.apk, then open FlashFire
8. In FlashFire, click "+", click Flash ZIP or OTA, choose LG-H815_Official_v29A.zip, and don't tick anything, go next step
9. Scroll to the bottom, click FLASH, click OK, wait till the phone reboot to FlashFire mode
10. When the phone reboot again, you should now see Android is Upgrading
11. Goto Setting -> Backup & reset -> Factory data reset, do a full factory reset
12. Wait the phone earse and reboot itself
13. Open LG Backup, mount your SD Card, select Restore, and enjoy your new nougat 7.0
Before asking any question, be sure you have already checked this Q&A list!
Known Issues:
Q1. I'm stuck at LG Logo after flash 5.1 KDZ
A: Pull out battery and enter recovery mode to do factory reset
Q2. Will my G4 overheat or dead while flashing?
A: All G4 still alive now won't dead, while flashing, they mutation
Q3. Should I upgrade to Nougat? Is there any feature better than Marshmallow?
A: Google "Nougat vs Marshmallow"
Q4. I'm now at 6.0 and Anti-rollback version is 0, do I need to downgrade before flashing Nougat?
A: Go to the top and read this topic again, GO
You can't unlock bootloader that mean you can't dump out system.img to do root injection
And you can't use TWRP cuz you have a locked-bootloader
So, we need to downgrade, using the 5.1 Download mode to flash our modified system.img
Gain the root permission and use FlashFire to flash that firmware
This method looks like HTC's Bootloader firmware flash, but we use FlashFire to do this
Q5. Will Nougat cause G4 overheat or battery drain?
A: No, but smooth and stable, surfing web just a little warm
But I don't play games, so you need to try this urself
Q6. Hey! Is there any root injection in this Nougat firmware?
A: No, this is an official firmware signed by LG, un-touched, so ... sad
Q7. Can I do a root injection to this nougat system.img?
A: No, you can't, go back to Q4
If you modified the system.img and flash it
You'll get a fully bricked phone
Q8. Why I should do factory reset again after nougat boot up?
A: FlashFire flash that firmware just like when you receive an OTA and flash it
That a dirty flash, will cause lag, overheat, or other issues.
Q9. Can LG Backup restore all my data?
A: Some applications can't backup their own data,
but I know Steam Guard can!
Cuz I just logged in my Steam through that restored Steam app!
Q10. Can I roll back to Marshmallow or lower version?
A: Yes, you can!
But wait, check Anti-rollback version, if the value is 0,
then use LGUP, "REFURBISH" your phone to European v10 KDZ
Check anti-rollback version still "0"
After flashed European v10 KDZ, REFURBISH your phone again to any country/version's KDZ
Q11. Hey! Why my rootsystem20160214 not a img file, it's a 7z format file!
A: Don't you know that a zipped format? Go search it.
Q12. OMG! My phone stucked at LG Logo with breathing light
A: It's still boooooting, don't take out battery or anything else, let it boot up.
Q13. My phone realllly stucked at LG Logo, and LGUP show Unknown Model or Unknown Port!
A: Try LG Flash Tool, flash TWN v10F KDZ or other country KDZ.
If your LGUP or LG Flash Tool can't recognize your G4, and you surely the driver correctly installed...
The reason is: Windows 10 with USB3.0 port won't work, try Windows 10 with USB2.0.
Quickest way: Why not use Windows 7?
Q14. Can I get Android Pay working if I upgraded to Nougat?
A: You can't. Some "root" files still in the system partition (I don't know where are those files stored).
So your phone can't access SafetyNet now.
Q15. Is there any way to get my Android Pay work again?
A: Try REFURBISH your phone to a European KDZ
Then REFURBISH to any country/version KDZ, that's would get your Android Pay work again.
Oh.. I didn't try this but I think it would work, cuz I don't use Android Pay
Q16. So, why can't we access SafetyNet?
A: Some "root files" can't removed from the system partitions, if Google Play services detected those files, may cause "CTS Profile match: Fail"
Q17. Everything worked fine after this upgrade, but it shows "Current Version is not available for user. Can't find cust for NTCODE=[XXXXX,FF}", how to solve this?
A: It's normal cuz the firmware doesn't match to your phone's region / country, dismiss that, and enjoy your nougat
Q18. I can't get 4G+ on my G4, why?
A: This firmware's baseband doesn't match to your country's band, not a major issue.
If you really care about this, downgrade to Marshmallow
Screenshots:
See attach
The method is working fine for international H815. Freshly updated
Thank you bro!!!
Kinda sad that it voids your warranty tho.
That is legit the only thing that makes the fact we cant unlock our bootloader a good thing- whoever has a warranty keeps it.

at least here in Israel, all G4s are sold with a 2 year warranty.
Honestly if it didn't have the warranty I'd use this, but I do want to keep my warranty. It's kinda odd how this does void your warranty, and another bootloader locked rom that i know doesn't void your warranty. I assume it has to do with the fact that the method of flashing this rom does require root.
Hey, thanks for the guide.. Will give it a try immediately. Was waiting for this for a long time.
Can we use this method to flash LineageOS Nougat or Oreo as well or does it only work with stock LG firmware?

This is a fully stock ROM, downgrade to 5.1 no need to unlock the bootloader, we are using the bootloader's bug to flash modified system.img, and then, upgrade to nougat, a fully stock Nougat ROM, you can't root, and the bootloader still locked.
But I don't know what if we flash this, the phone still in warranty or not.
And here, in Taiwan, Taiwan LG is selling LG G6 now, they don't sell G4, our warranty only 1 yr.

This method only works with stock ROM, if you try to flash a third-party ROM, you'll stuck at LG Logo cuz the bootloader don't know what the fxxk is this system, See "Known Issues" Q7
After updating to the V29a lift LG backup stop working notifications restore 2 times the two failed, I had to perform wipe and returned to normal.

Don't do that if you don't have any confidence
But you can try this guide if you find a 5.1 version KDZ for your H815TR.
If you bricked your phone, try to flash back to stock KDZ
Good luck!

First of all, I have to officially thank user kalunlee for his help in this. He pulled the files from the chinese forums, and in there you have to either register or pay for the links. Without his help there would be no guide.
XDA is open for everyone, on those Chinese forums they keep their resources well hidden, but they don't bother thanking the people here on XDA for their work (rooting tools maybe?), and they even get credits for the tools taken from here! --rant over--
Let's start now. This guide is for all user of D857 or D858 wanting the Google Apps on their phones without messing around with rooting and custom recoveries, but want to keep the phone in a stock condition. Model D858HK is the only Dual Sim officially supporting the GApps, the goal of this guide is transforming a D857/D858 into an HK model.
Istructions:
Enable USB debugging on your device: menu > settings > developer options.
Install Stump Root and root the phone. Install SuperSU immediately after reboot and run it.
Install Build Prop Editor apk (I used Build Prop Editor from joeykrim, the other one didn't work), edit ro.product.model=LG-D857 to ro.product.model=LG-D858HK.
Install LG Driver.
Install LGFlashTool, overwrite the megalock.dll with the provided one.
Turn off phone, hold the volume up key and plug into the computer (DOWNLOAD MODE).
Let the LG driver install for your phone.
Go to device manager in Windows Control Panel, change LGE Mobile USB Serial Port to com41
Open LGFlashTool select the right TOT file and dll (use BOARD DL)
Go to Port settings set LIMO Port to COM101 tick port 1 only on the right (Basically first 3 items ticked)
Click Start
Remove the cable for 5 seconds and reconnect, the flash will start
Flash
Done
Now you have a D858HK instead of D857.
If you get a port error at the starting of the flash disconnect the phone, remove LG drivers, reinstall them again, change the port to com41, and without rebooting launch again the flashtool.
If you get a Windows error, remove any antivirus you have!!
If at the end of the flashing procedure the phone boots into the miniOS, then pull out the battery and enter into the recovery and do a factory reset. Reboot. When in miniOS again, press the power button and tap on normal boot!

Yes, after transforming the phone into a D858HK, you'll be able to install any OTA update that will be pushed to you. It's not like the G2, no more OTAs after this guide, you will have to manually install the update.
DO NOT INSTALL v10c on the D857, it's impossible to root at the moment. If you do, the only way to go is the downgrade. I will set up a new guide soon if I'll be able to do that on mine (learn the hard way :crying: ) Look for D857v10a TOT. Downgrade to v10a, root, then follow this guide to transform to a D858HK.
Will edit with more detailed instructions soon. STAY TUNED!

The question is: can we do this for all variants? Like vs985/D851 to D855
Sent from my VS985 4G using XDA Free mobile app
I just flashed mine, everything seems OK, just at the end LG Flash Tool showed "Waiting for reset 120 sec", phone restarted and setup screen showed up.
Then LG Flash Tool showed error message "download failed" and "USB port open fail", but phone works well. Any idea why this happened?
Don't try to flash other LG G3 to this version. It only works for D857 or D858 to D858HK. These are the dual sim version and all have the same hardware.
Not sure what happened to the links but you can try the links in the original post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/d857-gapps-t2882412/page3
You can ignore the fail message at the end, it happened to one of the phones that I flashed too.

That's not actually accurate. OTA on D858HK are IMEI based, so even the D857 (or mainland D858) is flashed into D858HK, it won't receive any OTA notification still,as your IMEI will be designated to D857.
I'm not exactly sure if there s any way to side load the OTA without root/flash Tot, I hope someone will find a way when new OTA files are available for this.

You're partially correct. OTAs are theoretically IMEI based, but it has to match the installed firmware and firmware keys of the device, in this case you'll have 858HK keys, thus 858HK OTA.
On the G2 I changed firmware successfully twice to change the region (thus enabling few needed LTE bands), and it got two OTAs for that region, not for the original one.
Time will tell BTW!
Hi ! you mean by firmware installed 4G frequencies can change?

That's what happened with the G2. Couldn't get 4G in the UAE with Open EUR firmware. Switched to UAE firmware and got LTE!

Hi there. Hoping you or maybe others from this thread could help me.. working on this document to list which root methods work on each device.
We do not get much input/feedback from D857/8/9 users and it would be nice to know if anyone could help me fill in the blanks for those devices.
Does D857/8/9 work with ioroot? if so which software versions? (10A? 10B? for example..)
Does D857/8/9 work with towelroot? if so which software versions?
Does D857/8/9 work with purpledrake root? if so which software versions?
Does D857/8/9 work with stump root? if so which software versions?
And I see you have mentioned that D855 firmware will brick a D857/8/9? Is this confirmed? It cannot be fixed if someone does this?
Do D857/8/9 users have a working TWRP from BUMP! yet? Im curious if the D855 version of TWRP would work for you
D857/8/9 users.. please keep me posted so we can make sure you dont get left out

D857 works with Stumproot with version v10a and v10b only. v10c fixed the vulnerability.
D857 doesn't work with towelroot (tested v10b and v10c).
D857 doesn't work at all, it says -unsupported-.
D857 doesn't work with ioroot (tested v10b and v10c).
D857 will be bricked by flashing D855 firmware. Probably a recovery would be possibile accessing the firmware download mode, but I am not brave (stupid) enough to do it, since D855 doesn't support dual sim mode.
TWRP doesn't work on D857, after a reboot the recovery won't be accessible anymore, it will only work once. Be careful, when installing a custom recovery the original one will be gone forever, unless you restore with LG Support Tool. TWRP doesn't fully support D857, thus it probably installs the recovery on wrong memory addresses, and it is not bootable for a second or third time, but only once.
The only way to access the custom recovery is to install it again.
Personally I had to downgrade from v10c to v10b to be able to root and change firmware to D858HK in order to have GApps natively. v10c on D857 is unrootable.
The difference between D857/8/9 is customization: D857 is the international version, /8 and /9 are for China Mobile and Statecom. D858HK is the Hong Kong international version of the G3 Dual Sim that includes the GApps, all other firmware don't, since they are for the chinese market, which Google abandoned.
Haven't personally tested Stumproot on D858HK v10d yet.

The only way to access the custom recovery is to install it again.

thank you for your response.
are you 100% sure PurpleDrake doesn't work? D855 10L has patched Stump but no one has patched PurpleDrake yet... unless it never worked to begin with.
does the following command work for you?
Code:
adb reboot --bnr_recovery
and did u try the purpledrake at this thread? because there are 2.. one is for D851 only.. this one is for all - http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/root-root-lg-g3-easily-purpledrake-lite-t2821000
check the manual commands in the first post if the script does not work. I want to confirm and be 110% sure purpledrake does not work on the D857/8/9.. that would make the D857/8/9 the ONLY g3 that does not have root yet.
also.. you mentioned D857 for ioroot/towelroot/purpledrake.. etc... what about the D858 and D858HK and D859? same results for all phones? or only for D857?
and for TWRP.. did you use the fastboot twrp method? do not use fastboot boot method. or did you try the Bump twrp? u tried the twrp-2.8.0.0_d855-signed.img file here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...mp-unlock-lg-g3-twrp-d852-d852g-f400-t2900614
http://downloads.codefi.re/thecubed/lg_g3/bump/twrp-2.8.0.0_d855-signed.img
Code:

adb shell

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
dd if=/sdcard/twrp-2.8.0.0_d855-signed.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
reboot recovery[/SIZE]
that does not work? if that does not work I will make a proper TWRP for D857 D858 and D859 devices. I will need a boot.img from D858HK if possible please.
and can any D857, D858 or D859 users PM/Message me their IMEIso that I can use LG's website to look up KDZ files and download them myself.
If you want.. you can change or leave off the last 3 digits of the IMEI so that I dont know your exact IMEI for security.

Unfortunately that command didn't work on D857 v10c, and the .bat gave unsupported model. Trust me I tried everything to root before I downgraded, I was desperate to gain root on v10c!!
This is the link for v10c for D857:
http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW040906432109876543213/D85710c_00.kdz
Unfortunately I couldn't find any other kdz (I got that link from my IMEI). The dual sims are mainly for the Chinese market, and they don't share any kdz on the Chinese forums, because many of them ask for money for the download of TOT files.
Please send me the instructions to extract the boot.IMG! I will also re-post the link on Mega later on for the 858HK tot file.

ok.
which firmware are you running now? D857? 10c? rooted?
you need root.. and then you would do these commands... then upload the boot.img to me.
so I guess you need to be on 10B and use stump to root.
Code:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img
exit
exit
adb pull /sdcard/boot.img
the above commands will open adb shell, gain root, backup your boot.img to internal sdcard, exit rooted adb shell, exit adb shell, pull boot.img off internal sdcard into the folder on your computer where you are running adb.
OR
if you do not want to root the phone but still pull the files.. see my thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/psa-stop-taking-ota-updates-update-t2909412
under the "Download Updates" section are steps for how to extract KDZ. you can extract boot.img from kdz that way.
the only way to have a rooted D857 10C would be to have 10B.. root it with stump.. install TWRP (D857/8/9 version I need to make).. then update to 10C manually by flashing the system.img, boot.img and modem.img in TWRP.
I have an easy method to flash the system/boot/modem images in my thread as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/psa-stop-taking-ota-updates-update-t2909412
under the "Manual Updating" section I have some flashable "Flash2" zips that do all the work for you once you have the system/boot/modem images on your internal sdcard. no need to make new flashable zips.
If anyone has the boot.img for D858 or D858HK that would be good too.
DomFel said:
You're partially correct. OTAs are theoretically IMEI based, but it has to match the installed firmware and firmware keys of the device, in this case you'll have 858HK keys, thus 858HK OTA.
On the G2 I changed firmware successfully twice to change the region (thus enabling few needed LTE bands), and it got two OTAs for that region, not for the original one.
Time will tell BTW!

FYI, I had it flashed with 10C and it didn't receive OTA to 10D, had to do a manual refresh of the whole 10D tot.
I've seen Chinese users reporting the same as well.
That's why i m convinced conversion this way won't receive OTA.
In any case, i have both the D857 converted D858HK, and the local stock D858HK, will be able to verify that once new OTA is pushed out.
all else apart, it's the best version of the android phone by a country mile.

I think you are right. Today I flashed a D855 of a friend of mine in order to change the region. Unfortunately the region didn't change, even by using a TOT file. Under software version it's still AME region and not EUR. Editing the build.prop and reflashing/restoring didn't work neither.
I think LG has hardcoded the region in the hardware, not on the software side anymore!
Hi all,
I'm a user of D858hk, recently i have updated my device through LGMobile Support to D858hk v10f, and the stump root effect is waived...
I try to reroot through stump / purpledrake / towelroot , but eventually can't be success.
Hence, I try to flash the stock d858hk v10d rom here, i have several questions suffer during the thread here.
1. Do i need to modify the build.prop file as my device is D858hk
2. I can't get the dll file from the above links
TOT File and DLL: http://pan.baidu.com/share/init?shar...05147&third=15
DLL http://pan.baidu.com/share/init?shar...05147&third=15
Both links contain a zip file which only include a .tot file inside.
3. I have followed all the steps as stated above, but during "Click Start->Remove the cable for 5 seconds and reconnect, the flash will start-> it show error message "Download Fail - Can't change to download mode", i'm sure i have done "Turn off phone, hold the volume up key and plug into the computer (DOWNLOAD MODE)."
Hope anyone can help and suggest what mistake i have made.
thanks.
Does anyone have a D858HK recovery file? I've accidentally written it with the wrong recovery img (D855's) and when I try to boot recovery it goes to fastboot mode... but on normal operation there aren't any side effects yet.
Greatly appreciate it if any of you can post the recovery's img!

1) no, as your device is already D858HK, no need.
2) Here's a link for you to obtain the DLL: https://mega.co.nz/#!YNx2DCSZ!ok0oaK5o7Xu0QeorfnH5gfkEDra9RyoFfhnCkXXIJNE
3) try it after using the right DLL file.

Normal Flash will keep your data, no other difference than CSE.. Normal Flash is likely to give a lot of FC when you use the kdz you installed. Since the point of this post is to install LOS, it won't make any difference.
BTW: You might need V21C modem and MR_Bump while installing LOS

I have d850 6.0 stock unrooted runs on Tmo.
I want to flash lineage OS.
Will this unlock method work for me? ATT phones have locked bootloader.
If I choose Lineage OS for D850, will I be able to run on Tmo?
Heard bad things about king root. Any chance of fully getting rid of it or using any other method to flush custom ROM on unrooted phone? I think ATT is also locked bootloader.
Thanks

Just download/flash my 10E BOOTLOADER ZIP. It'll make LGUP work again with M KDZs and the BOOTLOADER ZIP is much smaller!

I had several problems with this procedure (coming from V20a):
1. After flashing 10C BOOTLOADER ZIP via TWRP, LGUP was not able to detect my device type anymore, but this worked with previous bootloader. Why?
2. Flashing the 10C COMPLETE ZIP did result in a loss of TWRP (although recovery.img is not part if complete ZIP). Why?
3. Flashing the 10E COMPLETE ZIP caused FCs and a bootloop Reset in system recovery did help to get the device up again.
After that LGUP did find again my H850 and upgrade option works now with M KDZs (which did not work under Nougat). But the refurbish option is still not working and says "not supported".

1. I suggested 10E not 10C.. not sure why LGUP 1.14 + UPPERCUT wouldn't see it. But UPPERCUT is geared towards recent devices on recent software. It's possible 10C is too old to fall under the UPPERCUT 1.0.0.0 umbrella.. and you're always welcome to use the older LGUP methods instead.
2. You will always lose TWRP if you boot into Android without patching the boot.img or flashing supersu zip first. The stock system.img has a patch in it which always tries to replace the recovery partition with stock recovery.. and zips like supersu stop such things from happening. The procedure is to flash twrp.. boot into twrp.. flash supersu. flashing twrp then booting into android = no more twrp. this is standard android stuff for awhile now.
3. The refurbish option isn't needed and I've already explained in the UPPERCUT thread that refurbish is not supported. All refurbish option does is force the phone to run a factory reset after KDZ finishes... the user can just run a factory reset manually after the flash to achieve the exact same end result.

At first: Big thanks for your quick response!!!
to 1.: The reason for 10C instead of 10E is simple: you do not have a KDZ file for 10E on your codefire drive (only a ZIP), but for 10C the KDZ was available. And the links to LG server were not working yesterday for me.
I read Uppercut the first time now and will give it a try today in the evening (German time). :fingers-crossed:
to 2.: Understood. Thank you! :good:
to 3.: Then how can I get rid of the 3 error messages on start-up related to NT-code ("Can't find matched cust for NT-code" + "OP name for Buyer-code...")? I understood, that refurbish will flash new cust partition and this will solve the problem. I see cust.img also on your drive, but it is not inluded in the COMPLETE ZIPs. Would it help to flash this?
Or can LG Bridge help in this case? It does refuse to flash my phone, maybe because of the bootloader unlock?!
I read so many threads yesterday, but nothing solved this issue... :crying::crying:

cust should be getting flashed regardless of selecting refurbish or not as far as I know.. but perhaps I'm wrong.
if you have root/twrp just zero out the cust partition or simply delete the files inside the cust folder using a file explorer app... and the error msg should go away on next reboot.
this is in the FAQ/Q&A section in the OP of all my stock threads for H850.
if you're on M and must flash a KDZ with refurb option... just use the old LGUP methods. but if you're sticking with TWRP there's not really any need to flash any KDZ.. you can flash whatever in TWRP instead.

"and the error msg should go away on next reboot." I get 3 error messages related to this. Will I get rid of all of them?
"old LGUP methods" means tool version 1.11 instead of 1.14? So use version 1.11 for MM and 1.14 for N?!
Unfortunately, refurbish does not work even under MM for me regardless if I use version 1.11 or 1.14.
BTW: The old version 1.11 asks my each time I trigger the refurbish process to "Input new NT code" (the new version does not behave like this). Is my problem maybe caused by this or can this be used to input a working string there?

"old LGUP methods" means tool version 1.11 instead of 1.14? So use version 1.11 for MM and 1.14 for N?!
Unfortunately, refurbish does not work even under MM for me regardless if I use version 1.11 or 1.14.

i dont have an H850 so idk.. but any time ive had someone zero cust theyve said errors have gone away. so if they dont for you.. you must be special. try it and find out... then report back. if it doesnt work... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
old lgup methods = 1.11 + dll msi installer, yes. but i see no reason to use 1.11 simply for refurbish option. most people should be able to use LGUP 1.14 + UPPERCUT for most situations on G4/G5/V20.
i dont know abotu the NT code stuff with LGUP.. again.. I dont have a H850. but if you have TWRP then there's really no need to be messing with LGUP at all unless you want to be 100% stock/unrooted with no TWRP. just zero cust or try flashing the cust.img that's in the folder.
I cant help any more on this NTCode subject without a device that uses it. good luck.

I can make it even easier... instead of downloading my 10E COMPLETE ZIP
Just download/flash my 10E BOOTLOADER ZIP. It'll make LGUP work again with M KDZs and the BOOTLOADER ZIP is much smaller!

Only if someone is on the same point: For me, it is only working to flash the COMPLETE ZIP! When I flash bootloader only, LGUP does not detect the model type of my device anymore (detected type is "Unknown"). I have tried it now for 2 times with similar results...
BTW: I used this method to get rid of the annoying NT code issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66957161&postcount=4
@autoprime Can't we just flash 10E with the refubrish option? Somehow I'm unable to get into recovery with the button combination after downgrading and updating again, even though I'm doing it properly and I was able to do it before.
EDIT: So refubrish stopped working now too. Dang. I installed the recovery through Dirty Cow, flashed the bootstack and went back to 10E, but I still don't have a recovery. ;_;
Ok, I've tried everything and button combination for recovery still doesn't work, so think if you really wanna risk being unable to easily factory reset your phone.
autoprime said:

Well I am trying to flash stock EE rom, which I have the KDZ for.
I am flashing via upgrade, and all that happens is when the phone boots it is unstable, phone app crashing etc.
All settings still intact, no myee app, app from open EU rom still exists, very very strange.
Is it possible to convert a KDZ to a twrp flashable zip as twrp seems far easier.
I suspect if I used refurbish it would fix this issue as upgrade seems to not be clearing everything.

Did u try what I suggested in other thread? Wipe internal storage before first boot, reboot recovery afterwards before booting system; are u clean flashing? Are you trying to restore any data at all besides things like messages and call logs?
Going from an openEU.kdz to a branded .Kdz would definitely require a Twrp data format and a recovery reboot, perhaps do all this b4 using LGUP with kdz.
Yes it is possible to make a .zip from a kdz, but it's not a simple process and there is no EE branded 20a.zip
Autoprime already stated that refurbish option can be used if you use LGUP v1.11 instead of latest 1.14 but don't forget the .DLL file. Also all refurbish does is wipe data and internal storage; which can be done via TWRP using the method I mentioned above. Try what I mentioned and then reflash kdz;forget about any data besides text messages just take the extra 30min to resetup device from scratch.
What version of LGUP are you using? Can u give more info be more descriptive about what's happening?
it is resolved now but I was just trying to get it in a good state to return the phone to EE.
Doing a factory reset in twrp didnt work, but what did work is I did a reset from in the rom, and after the reboot it was properly reset.
What was odd is when I wiped system and data manually in twrp that also didnt work.
I think I forgot to check if I completely wiped the internal storage, photos etc. As I was rushing to get the phone to be sent back. But the description for the reset option in android says it does wipe all personal data so hopefully that did it.
How can I downgrade LS992?
İs this possible for lg g5 H860?
For H850 just download H85010i_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0923.kdz flash it with LGUP 1.4(uppercut) after it's finished reset the phone then just flash android 6 firmware that you like.
i have h850 ,
current firmware is v20a updated via fota
no root , no bootloader unlock ,,, compleatlly stock phone
i want to downgreade to any 6.0.1 firmware without losing data (if possible)
if not, what to check and what steps to do without tripping on cust ot drk or modem or .... issues ?
pleas advice me ....
LGUP corrupts whenever i hit Start, but it works just fine with N kdz (mine is 20a). I have tried to flash bootloader but still ended up with the same outcome.
Lucky patcher does not work on nougat. Application not installed. playstore error 504

I rooted H850 following autoprime's LG G5 H850 Bootloader Unlock instruction with autoprime's modded "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" {[ 1.) selecting port 41 in device manager (maybe was not necessary) and 2.) pushing TWRP twrp-3.1.1-0-h850.img 3.)booted into recovery (Using 2 hands.. use one hand/finger to press/hold volume down.. and use the other hand for the power button. Press n hold both buttons.) 4. flashing SuperSU (UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.82-20170528234214.zip) ]}.
Installed 20a with lgup because for a strange (windows 10 folder administrator permission) reason nether UPPERCUT_1.0.0.0.exe nether LGFlashTool.exe worked properly).
Unfortunatly I installed [ROM] [Nougat 7.0] Fulmics ROM 3.3 ◦ v20D ◦ H850 but, because the very big LACK of xposed framework on nougat, I had too much difficulties to patch correctly the core jar with lucky patcher getting a lot of error "app not installed the package appears to be corrupt" and other play store error 504 app not installed.
So I decided to downgrade and leave from any Nougat 7.0 based rom in order to move on Marshmallow 6.0. In particular I used TWRP to wipe everything and flash [STOCK][M] H850 10E OPEN EU ROM autoprime's 10E COMPLETE ZIP then Supersu then framework.
On android this time I skipped google registration and LG software updates with data and wifi OFF.
Then I activated USB debug in developer section
Then I followed these step in that really precise order:
a) installed super su again with twrp (want to be sure to have got ROOT);
b) configure Super Su setting in android to activate pseudo PRO option then uncheck the "separation mount space" in order to share .init;
c) configure Super Su setting giving permission always without asking and also during in boot (to everybody);
d) installed xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64.zip in TWRP
e) installed lucky patcher and using it to unistall every LG apps;
f) activate for the very first time wify in order to update immidiately lucky patcher (update available in lucky patcher settings) than download patch update;
g) installed xposed apk (in android obviosly because I refer to apk pattern) and run it following app procedure for a correct detection of framework then activate Lucky patcher module in xposed apk then reboot to permit lucky patcher using framework;
h) installed busybox (after the check I choose the "smart install").
i) and now I enjoy the freedom that I haven't got in Nougat to test some application before buying them, just to be sure to not waste money for fake apk like voice pro or other expensive one that fools me before so many times. :good:
Update: G5 H850 Genisys Theme 1.3 v10e MM is a great choice for stability and battery life.

Do you think I can do it by my own? (for example, with fastboot?)

Hi,
You can achieve this by following methods.
Method 1
Since you have TWRP
you can flash the stock firmware from TWRP and it should lock the bootloader, unroot and then overwrite the twrp with stock recovery.
What you need?
For this method you need the stock firmware zip files and firmware finder app from google store.
Method 2 (risky, not recommended)
Download SRK tools by somboons
From here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66627615&postcount=2
Unzip the file
Open the application
Then on the main screen, you will have plenty of options to type 1, 2, 3, etc..
Just type 000 to enter the command prompt here.
Once you are in that command prompt you can type the adb commands.
to lock the bootloader you need to type
fastboot oem relock xxxxxxx (just check this command. I think
xxxxx is your bootloader unlock code (yes you have to use the unlock code here again)
this will relock the bootloader.
now to unroot
you can just flash stock firmware using dload method.
How?
download the stock firmware
extract the update.app
put this update.app in a dload folder in sdcard.
you have to create this folder on sdcard and name it as dload.
then you can use the code from dialer pad
*#*#2846579#*#*
from there select SDcard upgrade.
It will reboot and flash the stock firmware. You no longer have root. It will also overwrite the twrp recovery with stock recovery.
I would recommend the method 1. It is safe, easy and should complete the desired tasks within no time.
Method 2 has lot of steps and there is risk involved so I cannot recommend this procedure as confidently as the first one.
I have the Huawei Mediapad M3 LTE version and also Huawei Mate 8. There are few similar functions in Huawei devices.
So now the question is where you will find the stock firmware?
You can find the stock firmwares using firmware finder app in google store.
From here -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teammt.gmanrainy.huaweifirmwarefinder&hl=en
Install the app.
Open the app
It will automatically find the right firmware's by detecting your tablet model.
All links might not work
So check the one that is working and download that firmware - preferably full firmware.
You will get the zip files if there are two or just one.
then you can follow the method 1.
Hope this works out for you. Hope you find this information useful. :good::good::good:
Hi and many thanks for your kind response!! I tried as you adviced, the problem is that now i have a custom rom and this is the reason, I suppose, for which, every firmware i try to flash, it says "this version is not compatible with the one installed". For what you know, is there a way to flash the firmware without it to check the one already installed?
Thankssss again!!

Hi,
Can you give me more details about your tablet ? It will be in settings - > about device
like
tablet version - is it BTV-DL09 or BTV-DW09?
DL09 is the LTE version
W - is the wifi version
which OS are you running currently?
TWRP version ?
How did you try to flash ? When method did you follow?
I don't know if there is a way to check what you are asking. But we can certainly resolve your issue.
When I was flashing and experimenting on my Huawei Mate 8 last week I came across similar errors. That time I had to dload rollback package from SDcard and then I flashed the EMUI4.1 OS to get back to stock. Now I feel that is the case with your tablet too.
Process is same for both devices. But the files used to flash are different (naturally). That is why I am confident that we can try to come up with a solution.
Point to note
to flash stock rom, the following play a key role.
1) bootlocker - locked
2) recovery - stock
3) Rollback package ( this was really file for Huawei Mate 8, but is it important for Huawei Mediapad M3? I will try to find out).
At the moment, you have custom OS and custom recovery.
so best thing to do is flash the Stock ROM zip files from TWRP. I explained why it is better to do it this way.
Were you able to get the stock rom zip files?
Also please answer all the questions in this post so that I can help you better. :good::good::good::good::good:

Android 6.0, EMUI 4,1, Greatslon mod B030
TWRP version ?
Twrp doesn't start anymore and so did root. This happens since yesterday, after installing the custom rom.
How did you try to flash ? When method did you follow?
I installed firmware finder and tried the following firmwares :
BTV-DL09C233B332, 1273 MB, OTA
BTV-DL09C233B035, 173 MB, OTA
BTV-DL09C233B030, 1801 MB, FULL
and always I get the same response : your firmware version is not compatible - upgrade failed.

ok
so your root doesn't seem to work
you don't know if you have custom recovery
you are using EMUI 4.1
1) do the factor reset from the settings > go to -> Settings -> Advanced settings - > backup & reset - > factory data reset
do this - it should take few minutes
2) then -> developer options - > turn on "oem unlock" and " usb debugging " - on
3) please download the srk tools - I think I gave you the link to that software in my previous posts - > please download - extract keep it ready.
4) open the SRK tools - > type 000 in the place where it asks you to type 1 or 2 or 3 .. - you should get command prompt
5) Now press volume down button and hold .. and then connect your tablet to computer ( you have to enter bootloader mode)
6) now we need to lock the bootloader - so run the adb command ( for this you need to put the tablet in bootloader mode )
fastboot oem relock xxxxxxx or fastboot oem lock xxxxxxx
yes you will need the unlock code and in the above command replace the xxxxxx with your unlock code.
lock your bootloader.
7) it will do factory reset - and then your bootloader is locked.
Now at this point you have bootloader locked and you have normal firmware but since you want to go back to stock rom
I am still not clear about the build number. Can you give me the build number ? its in settings - > about tablet - > mine is BTV-DL09C100B006
Model number you and I have the same version. BTV-DL09. But it is the build number which matters.
I checked the firmware finder - unfortunately it is not giving the full firmware - only ota updates.
so the factory reset in the first step above is very very crucial.
The other safe way to get the firmware is through Hisuite
for this you need Hisuite software - you can either go forward to B009 or if it is giving you that option to switch to earlier version then you can go back. But I highly doubt it will give anything. So just try to go forward with B009 ROM.
try all these steps... see if you can succeed to any extent. In the mean time I will try to search for full firmware and if I do I will update this reply or give a new reply.
My name is Sam Hope this works out for you. Don't worry if this doesn't work then we will think about alternatives. But these are very important steps. Good luck. :good::good::good::good::good:
Cheers!
Sam
Update: After going through some of the threads on xda I came across one russian website
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=780572&st=0#entry54523165
you can check the firmwares. They are all custom firmwares. But I am not sure if the version is compatible. check if your tablet buildnumber is BTV-DL09C100B006 or BTV-DL09C233XXX . that is something you need to be careful.
update2 :- http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php
this link contains all stock firmwares - but they are all OTA and not Full package.
I have the US version (I believe it is distinguished as BTV-W09C128Bxxx). Using the firmware finder, it appears the only old firmware available for my build is B001_demo and it's only an OTA. If my goal is restore stock recovery, will downloading this and flashing this do anything? I currently have greatslon's TWRP rooted running stock firmware version BTV-W09C128B002. Thanks!

if you check this Russian site
http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php
you will find 8 matches for your model.
unfortunately, all are OTA and not full firmware. OTA is good for updating from lower version to higher version. But for downgrading or returning to stock I am not sure. In my experience, I always used the FULL package.
your current situation
1) you have TWRP
2) Rooted ( so bootloader unlocked)
your options
1) Returning to stock seems to be difficult. Only possible way is Hisuite but it won't recognize your device as your tablet is rooted and bootloader unlocked.
To return to stock
a) you need stock recovery ( you will get this once you flash Stock rom in twrp or through erecovery - download stock rom)
b) bootloader locked (this is possible by adb commands using SRK tools )
c) Stock rom (this is the problem - I couldn't find a single site which is hosting FULL stock rom )
d) rollback package ( If there is one, Huawei had it for Huawei mate 8 but for mediapad m3, does it have? I don't know) - I hope this is not mandatory. We should be able to get the job done using a,b,c . previous points.
From my experience, I found that if you have a, b, c you can go back to stock easily.
I saw another Russian site where they have custom roms. But you have to be careful. Check if the version they put out is compatible with yours. You mentioned that your tablet version is BTV-W09C128Bxxx. It looks they have custom roms for BTV-W09C233xxx Can you flash this firmware on your tablet? that is tricky and can be risky too. If any one has done it, then it would be nice if they can share their experience.

The OTA in the firmware finder is not enough to go back to stock. You can try but I am not hopeful because it is not complete firmware and it might get stuck in between or fail.
For now. you can do factory reset from TWRP. That is the only thing that seems possible. Without stock rom or rollback package, it is very difficult to go back to stock. But if you manage to get stock rom for your device. Then flash it in TWRP. Once it completes you will have stock rom installed on your device.
Hope you find this information useful :good::good::good::good:

Thanks for the reply and the useful information. It seems as though I'm out of luck unless I can find a FULL stock firmware package. However, you did mention that I can use Hisuite? Even though I am unlocked, TWRPed, and rooted, Hisuite still does recognize my device (I think it's because I'm on stock rom). When I click on System Recovery it just says "Your device system is running properly and does not need to be recovered." Is there another method I can go through using Hisuite to restore stock recovery?

That's great news.
Good that your tablet was recognized by Hisuite.
For system recovery to work. You have to press volume down and then connect the tablet.
Did you do it this way? I think you did.
Do you have "update" or "restore" option in Hisuite?
If yes when you click on "update" did you get "switch to earlier version" If it gives that then yes you can try but even then we have to keep fingers crossed until it completes the process successfully.
One more thing you can try is using HiCare. But this is for updating to nougat or for OS early adopters.
All the options are coming down to stock rom. If you have one stock rom. Then you can flash it in TWRP or extract the update.app and dload it using 3 finger rule.
Full stock rom - that is the key here. Is it possible for you to get the stock rom for your device? So far I found only OTA's from those Russian sites or custom roms for different models. It will be great if can find all stock firmware's for all the models. It will help many people. Since my tablet was working very well, I didn't think about rooting at all. Mine is BTV-DL09C100B006.
One last option is Unroot your tablet using Supersu app. And then flash boot.img (it is recovery.img not boot.img) from one of the OTA firmwares. that way you can get back to stock firmware. But this is tricky. You have to be very careful about this. If anything goes wrong here then you won't be able to boot into tablet. That is why I cannot recommend this option.
Sorry I made a mistake in this post. It is recovery.img not boot.img. Please be aware.
You can try - Factory reset - from inside the OS or from TWRP. :good::good::good::good:

One last option is Unroot your tablet using Supersu app. And then flash boot.img from one of the OTA firmwares. that way you can get back to stock firmware. But this is tricky. You have to be very careful about this. If anything goes wrong here then you won't be able to boot into tablet. That is why I cannot recommend this option.
You can try - Factory reset - from inside the OS or from TWRP. :good::good::good::good:

1) When you say pressing volume down and connecting the tablet, I'm not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean from power off? Anyways, from a power on state, I tried using the Update process within Hisuite and it downloads the B003 firmware, then boots into recovery (TWRP), attempts to flash it, fails, and then I manually have to hit restart system within TWRP.
2) I downloaded an OTA update.zip and could not find a boot.img.
3) Also, what does factory reset from inside the OS or from TWRP do exactly?
Thanks again!

I am sorry. I should have explained it better.
Pressing volume down and holding it for few seconds and then connecting to computer will take you to bootloader mode.
Then you can do the system recovery.
Yes, if you have stock recovery it will go smoothly. You have BTV-W09C128B002. So you need boot.img of the stock firmware belonging to this OS. then you have to flash that using the below adb command
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
this should get back the stock recovery. Once you have this. You can try the Hisuite again, this time hopefully it should complete the process.
- you have the update.zip - > extract the update.app -> use Huawei update extractor (software in the attachment) -> extract this zip - > run Huawei UpdateExtractor - now open the update.app - > you will be able to see the recovery.img extract it. Flash it using the adb command in SRK tools.
you can download SRK tool from here -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66627615&postcount=2
Open this tool - > type 000 where it is giving you an option to type 1, 2, or 3 etc.. you will get command prompt . there you have to type the fastboot command to flash the boot.img.
But once again. Just want you to know this process is risky. Wrong file or if anything goes wrong you won't be able to boot into your device. So please be careful. It is risky. Please do not proceed with these steps. Flashing the stock rom is the right way. Or Hisuite. Those are safe methods. But not this.
Factory reset from inside the OS means - > go to settings - > advanced systems -> backup & reset -> factory data reset
that will do the factory reset on your device.
or
since you have TWRP. you can boot into TWRP - go to wipe - > there you will have factory reset. you can do it that way too.
I apologize for not explaining properly. I am sorry I made a mistake. It is recovery.img not boot.img.
Hope you found this information useful. :good::good::good::good::good:
Hi Sam!
unfortunately the custom rom I put 2 days ago hiddens the build numer (it says "B030 greatslon mod") but I annotated the previous one, which was the one you said "BTV-DL09C100B006".
Now I'm at work but this evening I'll try to do what you adviced. Thanks again and have a good day

Yes, I continue to find your information very useful!
I have downloaded the Huawei Extractor and was able to use it to extract boot.img, fastboot.img, and recovery.img. However, this is for B003 and I am currently on B002. B002 does not appear to be available through the links you previously provided (neither OTA nor Full). Using B003 extracted files, what would be the proper sequence of flashing? Should I install the B003 boot.img first, hope that it boots into fastboot, and then flash B003 recovery.img in fastboot mode? How do I even go about installing B003 boot.img? Through SRK tools or adb? Or is this all too risky, and I should not even bother with B003 OTA files while I am still on B002?
Thanks again!
Hi Sam!!
I recovered my huawei unlock code and tried to relock the tablet, after having resetted it to factory (remember I still have custom rom).
After putting the tablet in bootloader mode and typing the following command on sk tools:
fastboot oem relock xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (my unlock code)
I get:
....
FAILED (remote: stat not match)
finished. total time: 0.00 secs
I also tried "fastboot oem lock xxxxx" but it says "command not allowed".
Do you have ideas? I am blocked there...
Thanks!!

Hi,
You can achieve this by following methods.
From here -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teammt.gmanrainy.huaweifirmwarefinder&hl=en
:good::good::good:

ok
so your root doesn't seem to work
you don't know if you have custom recovery
you are using EMUI 4.1

Yes it is very risky. Please proceed with caution or don't do it at all as these steps are risky and can turn your tablet into brick. I say this because we are not getting the right set of files to test properly. We don't have the rollback package or stock ROM so the situation is precarious. If anything goes wrong, it would only increase your problems. For going back to Stock all you need is Stock Recovery & Stock ROM and unroot.
You are in stock rom but rooted. You just need to flash the right recovery.img file using SRK tools. Please check my previous posts on how to run adb commands using SRK tools. You have to do this in bootloader mode. Fastboot or bootloader mode are one the same. You need only recovery.img and that should be flashed in fastboot or bootloader mode. Check the Russian site http://hwmt.ru/oth/HWFF/info/view.php this has B003 firmware
For the moment it appears like there is only one way forward if nothing else work for you. I hope you have seen the Greatslon ROM files in the other threads. You can download his EMUI 5.0 it looks gr8 and seems to be stable from what I read. He has uploaded all the required files for his ROM. Have a look and see if it interests you.

You and I have same tablet version. I bought my tablet on Amazon.de. Please make a note of your steps and how your tablet responded. Based on that we can see how to move forward. It will be really helpful to know your experience.
To both of you @danibyte27 and @asianpianoman
Please be careful while handling these .img files or any system files. Flashing wrong files or any mistakes or errors during flashing can be detrimental for your tablets. There is huge amount of risk. So please proceed with extreme caution. Do not proceed if you have doubts. Please do not hesitate to ask if you are in doubt.
It appears that Greatslon - Android Nougat ROM seems to be the best way forward. As you have seen FULL Rom is not available anywhere. So that complicates things. Going back to stock ROM seems to be very tricky for now until we get the right Stock ROM and other important files.

Did you put the oem unlocking - ON & usb debugging on ?
1) check the bootloader - take a photo and see if it is showing phone locked or unlocked
hold volume down on your tablet for 3 seconds and then connect to computer
update : Can you check if your unlock code is correct?. it says "stat not matched" please check the unlock code.
risky steps
[[[try fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxx even if it says your phone is unlocked. ]]]
[[[then fastboot oem relock xxxxxxxx]]]
if this doesn't work
then flash the recovery of your current firmware using
use SRK tools - go to command prompt - type the below command ( this recovery.img should be in SRK folder )
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
I would suggest you not to go back to stock. Please try to move forward to greatslon EMUI 5.0 ROM.

It appears he didn't upload the EMUI 5 ROM for BTV-DL09C100 in that link.
However, he uploaded EMUI 5.0 on this Russian forum
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=780572
But those seem to be for C233 and other versions.
So I think it is better to check with him on the other thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-m3/development/twrp-greatslon-mod-t3489232 and see if it is ok to install C233 on C100. It is his work so I feel he is in best position to answer this question . :good::good::good::good::good:

Hi,
Hope you remember me.
Finally I have some good news for you.
Some wonderful person found the link to download the Stock ROM & Rollback package in another thread.
here is the link
http://consumer.huawei.com/it/support/search/index.htm?keywords=btv-dl09&t=SupportSearch
Go to this link and download the Rollback package and then do the dload method. You will come back to Stock ROM and your bootloader will be locked again. Download both files. Site is in Italian, you can translate it to English. This is the file I was talking about in my previous posts. It was uploaded by Huawei only on March 30th.
This is straight from Huawei so no risk at all and very safe.
They also have the B009 firmware so you can use dload method again and update it to that firmware. After that you can do whatever you want
I hope this is useful for you.
Cheers!

There is Android nougat available too. B006 -> B009 -> B010 - > B301 - > this is the path you need to take to get to nougat if your tablet model is C100BXXX. And all these firmwares starting from B010 are available on firmware finder app.

Hey guys!
I recently read many Questions About downgrading the Galaxy S8 to 7.0/8.0 after we got the 5x Bootloader.
Well many of you say NO but What many of you forgot is that there is a way to Downgrade your phone.
I already had that Problem with my S6 back in 2016, where I wanted to Downgrade it to 5.1. All you Need for a Downgrade is a Combination File.
Combination files are basically used for testing purposes in the Samsung devices. These files are there to make sure that the functionality of your device is error-free, before making its final release. These files are created by Samsung company and are found in only their devices.
Combination ROM Advantages:
Its help you to repair imie number in some models like S8/S8 plus S7/S7 Edge S6/S6 Edge…
Its very useful in bypass samsung account in too many models.
Its very useful in bypass Google account in too many models.
Its very useful for downgrade in some models.
Its help you to enable usb debugging.
its help to remove any security FRP / Reactivation Lock from Samsung like 2016-2019
You can find Combination Files for Galaxy S8 devices here:
G950U with latest Bootloader: http://www.mediafire.com/file/j8xi2n73zhh37q1/COMBINATION_FA70_G950USQU5ARG4.zip
G950F (currently only for 4x Bootloader): http://www.mediafire.com/file/c37zq...QB19841686_REV00_user_mid_noship.tar.rar/file
Here is a Video of Downgrading a Galaxy S6 Edge with Combination File : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOKJcHU1pXM Should work with S8 too
Hello, nice tutorial!
Want to ask:
"Combination files are basically used for testing purposes in the Samsung devices. These files are there to make sure that the functionality of your device is error-free, before making its final release. These files are created by Samsung company and are found in only their devices. "
So only Samsung releases these files to public? or are leaked?
I`m asking to check if I should wait or not, I had V4 bootloader but recently by accident with the latest update I got V5

I would recommend you to wait till the latest Combination File gets public for the G950F/G955F. They do work very good and are also stable. Usually I think Samsung does not public These files online but they get leaked very often. I used the Combination File to Downgrade my S6 from 7.0 with Bootloader 6 to 5.1.1 with Bootloader 2.
Im sorry but I can only explain the function of a Combination Rom along with the Galaxy S6..
Once Cthe latest Combination File is available, do this:
1. Download your Nougat/Oreo Firmware you want to install
2. Download Combination File with the latest Bootloader Version
3. Downlad 7zip, since you Need to edit the firmware you want to install
3b) Extract the firmware you want to install to a new Folder
3c) Delete all files except for boot.img, cache.img, recovery.img and system.img
3d) Open 7zip from your Start Menu and locate the firmware Folder
3e) Mark the remaining files and press the green "Add" Button at the upper left corner and create a tar (Odin Flashable) file
4)Download Odin
5) First uncheck Auto-Reboot
6) Now first Flash the Combination File
7) Afterwards go directly again in Download Mode and Flash the tar- firmware File
8) Reboot your phone and do a wipe
9) Congrats! You now have Stock 7.0/8.0 Back!
Notes: Fingerprintscanner wont work, because it is a part of cm.bin, OTA Updates wont work as well, Dont worry if you see a green text next to the Phone logo while starting it. Thats normal and not an error.
Backup your files before you do that!
I hope it helped you

Yes, many thanks for response!
I guess I will wait until I get the combination of files, but until then I want to switch CSC, found a solution to use THAI sim card, but not sure, if everything goes ok, I guess the new OTA update will be the latest from THAI, there are no changes to get bricked by this method right? ( I will be able to get back to the ROM stock that I have now? )

Hi, ok but it means that i cannot use fingerprint or ota update anymore or after dowgrade could i install full stock firmware with odin and recovery functionalities?
Will this trip Knox?
Any idea if I can downgrade from pie on a S8+ on bootloader 6?
I've tried this method on my S7 edge but I've stucked on step - deleting files.
After extracting the firmware I get 5 files- Ap, Bl ect.
When i extract the AP file (previously deleting "md5" from the name, and becoming rar file) there are only 3 new files (nothing for delete if i remembering correctly)
Files i need to delete are on other files from extracted firmware.
At the end I finished on unsuccessful flash.
I want to go back to nougat on my S8+ (955f), but i dont want to take risks, so I did flashing on old device with corect firmware.
I'm really mad at Samsung. Battery life become horrible at pie. Thats why I want to go back to nougat or at least oreo.
I will post some videos after day or two how is possible to downgrade android version on some Samsung devices with higher bootloader version. These methods didn't worked for me but may be they will encourage some of you to make possible the downgrade.
As I promised:
1. Interesting way to downgrade Samsung Device (J series) when touchscreen does not working:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmfgxoUhflA&feature=emb_title
2. Second method:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKg1DC4ul_g&feature=emb_title
As I remember oreo and nougat have pro mode on video recording and faster charging speed. I hope someone to explain is it possible to downgrade S8 and whats are the steps with this method.
so if i want to downgrade to firmware with bootloader v4 but my phone has now v6, will i download combination file with bootloader 6 or 4? I didn't get that part, sorry. i have s8+
edit: ok, 4 didn't work, so i guess need to get 6
Does anyone know the password for the linked Combination file?
Thanks for this thread.

Since you are on bootloader version 1, you don't need the combination files. If you were past version 2 they would be needed.
Once you update to a new bootloader you can't go back to software on the older bootloader without the combination files.

If you have an Exynos version, maybe ask around on that thread.
If you have a Snapdragon variant, you can't flash that ROM.

Password I had to find it elsewhere: "www.samkey.org/forum" without the quotes
