Recent ROM with working disc encryption? - Zuk Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
Does anyone know of a recent ROM with working disc encryption? The last one to work for me was Cyanogenmod, I think. Lineage 14 does not work and with Oreo on the horizon I don't expect it to in the near future.
So, does a ROM with working encryption actually exist?

Aex has, but in alpha stage, give it a shot.

Thanks, AEX actually is really nice. A little scared of the alpha label of file-based encryption, though. Would also be nice if there were some officially unencrypted folder (which is only possible with file-based encryption) to store updates in.

How developer friendly in OP?

I am new to the OnePlus community. How developer friendly are their phones? I was planning to get a Pixel as my next phone, but the spec and price for th Op5 look tempting.
Can we expect TWRP support and custom ROMs on the OnePlus 5?
Considering the amount of ROMs and various other development we've been getting with the OnePlus 3/3T, I can think we can expect something similar. OnePlus is an amazing company in that sense - especially since unlocking your bootloader doesn't void your warranty. (At least with the OnePlus 3/3T).
All required sources will be released by OP shortly. It will be simple to port the trees to LineageOS, so we can build custom roms for the OP5. I will start building RR as soon as the LineageOS sources are ready
Well with op3 it took a while to get working fp sensor on aosp roms, and they still have to use camera blobs (for the people out of the loop, that means slower camera.
Of course we can expect that - every OP phone until now got HUGE support by xda-devs
But i think this time i will ony flash TWRP and use Stock OxygenOS with Magisk

You mean, as soon as we have a working TWRP build... Same here btw. But I will try to be more active here as I was in the Oneplus Two forums. Just ordered a Oneplus 5 myself .
I have had the op3t , op3. OP has been sluggish to say the least with dropping kernel sources.. if you'd like some entertainment, take a look for @fransisco Franco's lashing towards Carl Pei and OnePlus. In order for a company to be considered "developer friendly," they need to share the sources in a timely matter.. they have improved as of late.
With all that being said, there is great beta testing and support in the XDA threads from @FuNkwizard.
I'm looking forward to this op5 beast!

Why Magisk and not xposed?
Just curious.

OP5 is shipped with OOS based on 7.1.1 Android OS.
xposed is available for <marshmallow.

@zipalign ist right. Also I need to pass safetynet for my banking-app and Xposed breaks sn.
They released the kernel source on github on day 1. That's amazing.

They really should release the camera sources so custom ROMs can utilise them. This is a big annoyance for me.
Device Trees and Kernel Sources been uploaded yesterday.
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/download-device-trees-and-kernel-sources-for-the-oneplus-5.552354/

Do we have any visibility of which Developers/ROM teams are planning on supporting the OnePlus 5?
I know there will be great support for this device, especially with the kernel sources and device tree already out but curious as to whether people like Sultan are making the move up to 5 or staying put on the 3/3T?

I bet there are going to be plenty of roms to pick from hehe, I just hope that paranoid android is going to support the OP5 aswell

Just got the information that the OP5 will be officially maintained by another RR team member. I'm thinking of creating an unofficial project now, but I'm not sure yet.

Ordered my OP5 yesterday and asuming Varund will launch his Ressurection Remix rom for it. Always used his rom on my OPO. Great stuff
Anyone knows if OP will also release all the dual camera stuff?

is it possible to port oneplus 3/5 rom to op2?

I recently thought about it, since oneplus one got porting from oneplus x. Is it possible same for oneplus 2? If yes, I'm willing to give a try. Just need someone guidance to work under.
@nicesoni_ash @xdvs23
Isn't there a zip already available from op5 to flash on op2 and its working too. So unless you plan to fix panorma on there, go for it.

It is not be possible because of a few reasons: You would have to modifiy an already baked rom to a completely different hardware which is only possible through reverse engineering which is illegal by the way as OOS is not fully open source and you cannot simply copy their device trees. Also we do not have an official kernel source for nougat which means that further modification would be needed to even get the rom to boot.
In the end it is not worth the effort as you probably are not able to reverse engineer the code and even if you did you would end up with a buggy rom that is even harder to fix than normal custom roms. You would have more luck creating a custom rom with an OOS like skin.
I don't think it will work because OP2 latest OOS is MM while OP5 OOS is Nougat. There is a huge incompatibility (which custom roms have to deal with, that's why it works there) so that it won't work.
It might boot but you won't get anything stable.
Even though there is MM OOS for OP3, it is very different from OP2. OP3 has NFC, and the whole OS is different.
But if you still wanna try, good luck!
Apologies. I mistakenly read cam instead of rom and my replies were about that if you notice properly. So ignore my earlier replies as other users replied, I too don't think it's possible.

Android 9.0.0 best rom

Which is the
Best stable rom for oneplus 5 on android 9 with no bugs and buttery smooth performance
For me it’s pixen the best rom for the moment.
Yeah PixenOS is really good, comes with GCam so you don't have to install that manually which is nice
Pixn but not for long I believe. LR is out and based on how kick-ass oreo was...it'll be up there again. Oh and use krieg kernel.
For now, PixenOS

It's only slightly modified official LOS, battery should be the same. I'm getting about 8 hours of the SOT.
Except listed changes, project at this moment is exactly the same as an official one.
May I ask, what specific changes have you made to this build of yours? Some of us might be interested to know about that.
This is my first try to build LOS at all - I just wanted to try and share that, because maybe there is someone that couldn't switch to LOS, because fingerprint app auth is not working. Everything is described in second post (changelog). Modified packages are on my github. At this moment it's only that; more changes are planned to be done in the future.

Are you going to update this rom after every official update?
Thank You Ham3r for your work. Did you also fix the Android Auto issue? I'm talking about this:

Nope, just when i'll find something weird in LOS that I have to change for myself. Maybe i should go with Xposed modules, but at this moment, it is as it is. I wanted to try.

Please give a look into it  I see you fixed the fingerprint issue with literally 2 strings, maybe this issue is as easy to fix as that.
I get a bootloop with this. Rom+gapps. Even tried pulling out the sim tray while booting up, nothing helps. And idk how but it maybe caused the official los build to bootloop too. Had no problem booting it up before that. Pie roms and nougat roms boot up fine. Anyone who's got some help.

I'm using the fajita version of AOSP extended but I'm thinking about trying this one

My first Rom was Omni. It's a stable solid Rom.
I am on omni 10 now great rom. Probably the most stable/functional android 10 rom out now. I came from asoip 10.

I wish they would update regularly too. It's kind of the same with aosp extended.
I liked Omni, they have a solid Rom with regular updates.
Stock Android 10
A10 with latest NoLimits/ Smurf Test Kernel
Currently on OnePlus 7 ob6 port, mostly rom jumping at the moment.
oos 9.0.17, tried oos 10 but was too buggy and bootleggers would get me into a boot loop for some reason. So just going to wait for the ota update of oos 10
