Bricked my phone (Bootlooped) - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hey guys. I had a problem with the fulmics rom where i couldnt unlock my phone via pin (it bugged and reset my screen when i pressed the pin). I decided then that I would do a fresh install of the rom because i forgot to install the bootloader first time. I formatted data, wiped and transfered the files to my internal storage while being inside twrp (don't have a sd card) - i can install the rom sucesfully, but when it reboots i am just stuck at the boot icon - it restarts every few minutes but doesnt get further than this. this is my first lg phone and my first phone where i installed a custom rom, so im pretty blank as to what i do now. Hope some of you are able to help me out. Thanks a lot

[Q] Did I brick my Hero?

Hello,
Last night I tried to install another radio fw on my Hero because of bad reception since the last one I installed.
I placed the new radio on my SD, rebooted and forgot to push the right buttons to access the "Android system recovery" (RA?) part.
Because it takes ages to wait for the phone to boot I pulled the battery and tried it again witch failed again, pulled the battery again etc.
When I finally managed to acces the "Android system recovery" part I flashed the new GSM radio to my GSM Hero. All the steps in described in the manual I used worked and all looked well.
After rebooting the phone started till the point of the Villainrom logo. I kept the phone on for hours till the battery was fully drained but it stays the same.
I can still acces the "Android system recovery", fast boot etc,
Tried the following:
-Wipe
-Restore backup
I'm getting pretty desperate!!
I's there anyone who has recovered his Hero from such a situation?
Please help..
If you can get to the recovery screen then you're not bricked. just reflash your rom and gapps add on and you should be fine or do a nandroid restore.
Hi pwraggcan,
I already restored a Nadroid backup.. Did not do the trick....
Also I tried to reflash the radio fw... Nothing helps. It just hangs at the unfolding Villainrom Logo which every few minutes restarts unfolding (I don't know how to call it otherwise, I do not mean that the phone restarts).
You're not bricked, so you're OK.
Re-flash the ROM you had installed after wiping your /data
Failing that, remove the SD card as that sometimes helps get the phone to boot.
If all else fails set up adb and get us a logcat.
Download the ROM again, full wipe & try again... Just to make sure the download didn't go bad?

You're welcome
Clear out your SD on your computer (back it up first), format it, and you should be good to go
It's usually the SD when this happens

Phone Bricked? Please help

So I rooted my RAZR M using motofail2go, and all was well.
Installed 'RAZR-M-Safestrap-3.12', as I was going to flash a custom ROM. I first backed up my Original Rom using the backup function.
I then wiped 'System', and went to flash the new ROM, but the flash did not work, so I restarted.
Now the problem is when the phone reboots, it showes the Safestrap splash screen with the Recovery option and start normal, but it is not working, as not sensing my inputs or something, after about 5 sec it goes to a blank screen and sits.
I tried to hard boot into the Android System Recovery, and tried to download an official Verizon ROM and install using 'apply update from external storage' using my micro sd, but I keep getting an error E:signature verification failed.
Does anyone know where I can find an official ROM to set it back to normal so I can use my phone again?
Thanks in advance.
Also: My phone originally had 4.0.4 version.

if you can get back into recovery, you should be able to press "restore" assuming you backed up your previous ROM.

What you might want to to is use RSDlite and flash that image you downloaded. This seems like it would help you, though I have not personally tried it:
http://www.andromods.com/tips-trick...oid-razr-m-xt907-stock-original-firmware.html
EDIT: And once the flash is complete, I would reboot into recovery again and wipe data and cache and then let it boot into the phone.
EDIT 2: Oh, and in addition to RSDLite, you will need the Motorola USB drivers so your computer can see the phone over USB.

[Q] Stuck on LG logo

I recently purchased a lg g2, the korean variant f320s, it was running kitkat with a lot of bloatware on top. I successfully rooted the phone and after that i found a cwm recovery installer for this version of the phone and i hooked up the phone and ran the installer on my pc, it finished installing and the phone rebooted into the custom recovery which was in chinese i went into a menu option and then pressed the back button on the screen and the phone instantly rebooted and got stuck at lg boot logo. Is there anyway to fix this? i have tried wiping cache, dalvik and factory reset from the recovery that i can access(chinese or something) but to no avail. I can access the download mode but my pc does'nt recognize the phone and this step is crucial for i guess installing the stock rom through lg flash tools. The phone however is recognized when im in recovery and i plug it in but it only shows as a drive that is faded out and entering it shows nothing. please help me i just got it two days ago

ALL FIXED
You are a legend!! Device back up and running.
Okay so I installed that same rom you did but the home/back/menu buttons weren't working so not wanting to muck around, I did some quick searching (which I should have done before >.<) and worked out how to get the Cloudy roms working on a korean device.
You need "Philz cloudy f320 recovery", the kitkat baseband and the rom. LINK
1 - Install the new recovery from zip and then boot back into recovery after this. You will now be greeted with philz recovery which is awesome.
2 - From here, proceed to install the rom as noted on the rom page.
This process worked for me for the Cloudy G3 V1.3 rom.
Thanks a lot for your help!! happy to return the favour! But i am hoping the above info already does that. :victory:

Good to know you got it working again i still cant figure out why this problem occurred in the first place why did the phone brick from the recovery when the recovery was working fiblne after? Also i can just get the new recovery over the one already on the phone without removing the previous one right? Thanks for the info im gonna try out the cloudy roms soon
I have no idea.. something to do with that chinese recovery I am guessing.. There are still a few issues I am going to address but for now my phone is 95% working.
The only issue is that if I try go into download mode, it still doesn't go to the second screen (All i get is the small blue dots). Bit of a pain because that's something nice to fall back on if you ever need to.
I'll search around and try and figure these out in the next week or two, but I am happy with what I have for the moment.
Yep, you literally install the new recovery over your current one and then you can restart phone back into your rom and then reboot back into recovery using an app or the button method.

Samsung J5 was rooted, did factory reset now I'm lost

Hello,
Like the title says, I have a Samsung J5, I rooted it as soon as I got it maybe a year or so ago.
I never had any issues with it. This morning, however I made a (now in hindsight) bad decision by factory resetting, dont even ask me why I thought I needed to factory reset it, I already did it.
Anyways, I did the factory reset from the phone and it instantly rebooted into TWRP, and here's where I got lost. I don't know what to do from here.
I assumed the phone would just reset itself, but it always reboots in recovery mode.
I thought maybe I had to flash a ROM again (I flashed a custom one and then stock back when I first rooted it, but my memory is terrible and I just have faint memories of it), I looked that up and found I needed Odin, the stock rom I wanted to flash and to reboot into download mode. So I got all I required and I don't think Odin is finding my phone.
My phone just has the blue screen saying downloading... and do not turn off target. Nothing else. and Odin doesn't show anything (I think it's supposed to show the device somewhere? Anyways, I'm super lost and I have no idea what to do.
I mostly just need someone to point me in the right direction, maybe some instructions I can follow or something, I'm not super experienced as you can tell but I can follow basic instructions when I'm not being dumb.
TL;DR: Did factory reset on rooted J5, now it only boots into TWRP, no idea where to go from here, stock rom flash?

Try factory reset in TWRP under "wipe" and try rebooting then.
If that doesn't work download a rom from xda for your device onto an sd card. Then put the sd card into the phone, Reboot into twrp and flash the ROM.
The reason odin isn't picking up your device is more than likely USB debugging isn't enabled which you can only do from inside the phones settings. Enable it once you flash the new rom and then flash your old firmware using odin afterwards if you wish.
Do you know what model it is?
Or even what year model it is? 2015?/16?/17?
If you can boot into twrp you have nothing to worry about as it can be easily resolved

Hey
I have already tried doing the factory reset from TWRP, but when I reboot after that it goes back into recovery mode, if I try to reboot from recovery mode into system it just goes back to recovery mode as well.
I'll try downloading another rom, I got the stock one in there but it doesn't flash it from TWRP, which I'm pretty sure is expected behaviour anyways.
The model is SM-J510MN 2016, I'll start looking for a rom.
Thanks

You wouldn't happen to have a rom that's not being hosted on Mega would you? I exceeded my limit when I was 95% done downloading one of them.
I think I found one, whoops.

Yep, I tried that, although I'm not sure the USB drivers I downloaded were correct, since the official page isn't working at least for me. So I downloaded what the websites claimed were the correct drivers, I went into download mode that way, which has some debug info on the top left stating it's in Odin mode, but Odin still didn't recognize it.
I'm pretty sure usb debug options were turned on before this, but I'm not sure if the factory reset could've messed with that, thought I'm assuming it could be part of it.
I'm currently trying to download some custom roms to follow garylawwd's advice, I'll reply once I've got results.

Uhm, so after doing that I flashed the latest twrp version (I had 3.0.2 or something), rebooted after flashing the image, did a wipe from there, rebooted and it now didn't boot into recovery mode but instead I'm now on a white screen with the samsung logo in the middle looping from light grey to black. I'll look into that I guess...

Hey, so yeah, I was just looking for any rom, didn't really look for anything in particular, just got the first one I found in order to just get into the phone.
I ended up just taking it to a repair place after not having much luck myself, I don't know what exactly they did, but I now have that ROM flashed and I have access to the phone, I'm not sure if I want to try flashing either a different custom rom now, stock, or just sticking to this, since I'm sorta scared it will get messed up again and I'll have to go back to that repair place.

Nope, I'm on Extreme ux 8.0, which is what I downloaded to try to get into the phone to turn on the usb debugging option, the guy that repaired it must've noticed it was already on my SD card and flashed it without telling me.
Like I said, I kind of want to go back to stock but I'm sort of scared of touching it and having it get stuck again, I've kinda got used to this rom's little issues by now though I suppose.

Wait,so you paid for the repair right? And he flashed you a custom rom?Looks pretty scammy to me..Anyways do you have twrp or stock recovery?

Got Stucked at Bootloader screen

I was rooting my device and was successful l in that. I flashed TWRP and Magisk and after that I decided to install a custom ROM. While going for it I again wiped the - Delvik Cache, System, Data and Cache. And when I tried installing that ROM it doesn't gets install. Moreover I can't boot into System anymore and now I'm stucked at the screen saying "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted." Also the screen is showing "ID:N/A"
So please please please help me with this problem ASAP. I can't use my phone now please and I regret for what I've done.
Try booting into fastboot mode. Hold down volume down and power for several seconds. If you can get there, you can flash the stock ROM and hopefully get back to normal. There are other threads that show you how to install. Make sure you use a version that is greater than or equal to what you last had installed.

When you installed a custom ROM your stock ROM was gone. That's how it works. But the reason you're stuck at the screen you're at, I don't know.
Restoring back to stock is the first thing I'd try to see if you can actually use your phone
