I have flashed [Filename:lineage-14.1-20170328-nightly-harpia-signed] after flashing latest twrp available for Moto G4 Play [Filename:twrp-harpia-3.1.1-r1] through adb sideload. I have tried flashing CrDroid and OCtOs as well but my SanDisk Ultra 64 GB micro sdxc card stops being read by the phone after a few seconds. How can I fix this? Does this have something to do with Adoptble storage?
edit 0: recovery can read the card with no issues!

Reformat the card (preferably FAT32 on an external host for testing purposes). Issue is not related to adoptable storage. Almost certainly a problem with the card itself or the way it is formatted.

1.When I first plugged my 64G flash drive(before this, I have plugged it into an adapter), I can see it in Drive Mount, while I choose 'mount all', it says ' mount successfully', but I cant find the flash drive in 'Mounted Device ' area, but after I unplugged the flash driver and plugged again, I even cant see it in Drive Mount. 2.Then I tested my another 8G flash driver, it can be recognized in Drive Mount.
3.Then I plugged the 64G flash driver into my PC, it worked well.
What's wrong with my 64G flash driver? Why could it be recognized at the first time and now cant be recognized any more?
What file system is the flash drive? I've had issues with drives formatted in anything other than FAT32 with android.

I have tried NTFS and Fat32, all failed.
But I have tried another 8G flash drive with NTFS, it worked well.
Try booting the device with the microsdxc already inserted, prior to boot.
Try using exFAT. Works fine on Galaxy S2...

Thanks, I have tried booting with the flash driver, but still cant be recognized.
I have a 64 gig micro sdxc card that i couldn't see until i formatted it on my android phone. I tried all different methods in windows, and none of them worked. I'm not sure you can format a flash drive the same way, but it's worth a try.
What is the brand, model and class of this microsd card?
I use a Sandisk microsdxc class 6 formatted FAT32. No issues whatsoever.
Where are people finding Sandisk Class 6 64GB microsd? I can only find Kingmax, TOP RAM, and same no generic no names.
I wish I found this thread before getting a Sandisk Ultra 64GB Class 10 microsd card. Hopefully Amazon will take it back.

They took back 2 of mine, and this is the one you're after:

I am having some trouble with one of my MicroSD cards. It's a Patriot Memory MicroSD HC Class 10 32 GB card. The card is formatted with FAT32.
The card is recognized and works just fine under Android. However, when I go into recovery, the card won't mount.
I have the same issue with TWRP (under several versions, such as 2.4.4.0 and 2.6.3.0) and Thor's Touch Recovery 1.8.1 (CWM 6.0.3.7).
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
I'm not quite sure what's going on. I purchased a brand new Sony 32gb microSD card and it works fine in both Android and recovery.
It seems like it has something to do with formatting the card... I also have a Patriot 16gb card that was working fine, but after re-formatting it (still FAT32), it no longer shows up in recovery.
I've tried formatting the non-working cards several ways... Standard Windows formatter, GUIFormat in Windows, even formatting from Android.
Hi all,
I have a Galaxy S5 (SM-G900W8) Canadian model. I purchased a 128GB sd card and I'm running into some issues. My S5 can detect the card, and I can copy files to it. But it seems that one I hit roughly 8.08GB of used storage, anything more I add disappears after my phone reboots.
The card was formatted in FAT32 originally. I have tried exFAT but the phone is unable to read the card in this file format. I have also tried NTFS but same results as exFAT.
I have done some research and have seen others with issues regarding 64 and 128GB sd cards with Samsung Galaxy models, but no fix yet (or at least from what I've seen/read).
This card only seems to work in FAT32, but I am unable to use the full capacity of the 128GB sd card in FAT32.
I have a 32GB sd card that works just fine without issues. Not sure what file table the 32GB card is formatted in though as I did not know of this issue until recently when I discovered it so never bothered to check.
Is there a fix for this that I have not found yet? This is quite annoying.
Thanks
Probably a fake.
i dont have problem with Team MicroSD 64GB
you have to format it in your phone (ExFAT), use file explorer in your phone, do not format using PC

What sd card is this because it seems like it's a fake and may not really have all that storage. I've never had any problems with my 64 gb SanDisk micro sd card which I'm currently using.
try PC format

I downloaded the tool and just used the cleaner. I found problems and then I ran clean & fix and it seems to have solved the problem. Thank you very much.
My SD card is not recognized and doesn't even show up at all on Android 7.1.2 (SlimROM). But when I boot on TWRP recovery it at least acknowledges my SD card and shows the folder the /external_sd
I'm not able to partition it though. I have formatted it in TWRP many times with different formats such as FAT, exFAT, ext.4, ect. but when I boot up back to Android (ROM: SlimROM 7.1.2) from recovery, the SD card is still not shown. It doesn't even acknowledged that there is something in the SD card slot.
It's a class 2 micro SDHC card by Samsung. I originally got this SD card with Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate, but it still works.
I've tested my SD card and it has been recognized by all my previous phones with no problems today. Phones tested: Moto Razr M, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S Fascinate
Any help, suggestions or identifying the culprit of the problem is appreciated.

Your first step should be to check the SD card works with the stock rom. If so, it's probably a problem with the custom rom, if not it's most likely the SD card reader.

If there is a problem with the SD card reader, how would TWRP acknowledge it? I just flashed the stock rom and it still doesn't read the SD card. I just got this phone as well
not sure this is just me or does happen to others, I had the M2 with the latest firmware installed, and for no apparent reason, I had tried 3 Sandisk Ultra 128GB MicroSD and all 3 had show corrupted SD Card after being formatted using the phone as portable storage, but the strange thing was, if I use the ADB and partition the SDCard as Internal storage, all 3 cards just work fine.
all the 3 Sandisk cards were tested ok and were used all the while in my old phone, my PSP and some other devices. So it is not an issue with the card.
Any thought on this?
Well i have a 64 gb sandisk ultra...a brand new one...i did not face any such issue but i also didn't format using the phone too...i read somewhere that the new fota is responsible! I don't have links or proof to back that up at this time!

Try formatting as FAT32
I am using a 64gb sandisk ultra card since day one. I also formatted using the phone and have zero issues. It works with file transfers from pc, copying/deleting/editing to and from phone memory etc.

Facing Exactly Same Issue
I am facing the exact same issue with my Sandisk 128Gb memory card, Tried on different phones and its working fine on them but it's not working on M2 Pro. Tried Different ways of Formatting the memory card but the problem is still the same. Need Help, Feeling Helpless as I am a Youtuber and need a good memory for the Self Vlogging.
Yes I have faced an issue in Zenfone max m1 Pro while using a sandisk 256gb A1 card, and came to know the A1 standard card in not working with the mobile.

Moreover we cant use the memory card as intenal storage, it has been assigned as external storage.
Unable to assign any storage permission by using this micro sd card.
