Reflections of direct light sources (lamps, street lights) in camera pictures - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Hi Guys,
I switched from Sony Xperia Z3 to OnePlus 5 just last week and i have had good experience so far .
But yesterday while testing camera during night , i spotted strange spots/reflections of light in the view finder . initially i thought those were smudges but no they are not . I moved my camera at different angles and i saw them move in the view finder or vanish .
Also if I cover lens with hand from top , they disappeared. I am attaching photos that i took and rounded the spots /reflections in blue . This is not the case in all night time photos but in few where there are light sources directly falling on lens.
Anyone else facing this issue ?? This is definitely not normal . Should i return my device ? This is so annoying
I need your help guys

Almost looks like there is some source with IR leds around. Security cameras for example have this for outdoor visibility at night.

So is this normal behaviour ?? That is my office and may have those

It's normal behavior to capture IR lights yes, its not normal when they aren't there. Try to make a picture somewhere else, for example in a dark room.

It seems that all of their units are like this.
They won't refund says the General Manager..
They would only change unit. (but it seems all units has the same camera defect)
(Sorry it seems i posted it on the wrong thread)
Apologies.
Please kindly move this mod.

ahh the pink spot,
well its "normal" and not a hardware fault as i understand
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sitesearch.php?q=pink spot
i have the same pink spot when there is not enough light. But when i change the white balance (to incandescent) the pink spot disappears, or at least is no longer in the center of the screen, as seen you can see in my two images:
no pink
i have a galaxy note from France, but no pink spot here :/
I get the pink spot in low light as shown above. It appears to me to be white balance related.
All must try an external app for camera called "camera fv-5" u ll find a big differ in pics

Strange color issue with the camera in low light

I had been noticing something in my s5 camera when i open it in low light and i noticed a bit of orange hue on the top corners of the photo, both in the camera app and after taking it.
I assumed it was due to light coming of from part of the room or close to the tv, but i just took a picture covering the camera in auto mode and viewing it on the phone it shows that bit of orange tint on the corners, like light bleed.
Now assumed it was due to the high iso that the camera goes to in low light, but when viewing it on the computer, that dark image shows just a dark/black photo with no "light bleed". Then i thought it could be a issue with the screen, so i downloaded a screen test app and the dark/black color shows no problems.
Anyone experienced this or know what it is? Is due to the isocell technology? Is my camera defective? Or is it just something simple that im missing here?
I tried to take a photo to show you what im talking about. Its not perfect and its a bit grainy, but it shows a bit im talking about and its on those corners that you see a bit lighter on the screen that show that color.

Edit: ok, so i was just messing with the settings and with iso at 800, lower than what auto mode goes to, it doesn't seem to happen, so its the high iso. What i find strange is that the same photo with the lens covered shows like that on the phone screen but on the computer is just a black photo =/ also, i don't know where the camera gets that "light" since the lens was fully covered

Screen off, intermittently flashing LED? o.O

Hello guys. Which sensors are on the front of telephone? I was taking pictures for a guy who asked me the photos of the phone, so i took a couple of it with the second display off/on, and I noticed that there is a small LED that flashes intermittently when the phone is switched off the screen and some time when is on, below the front camera ... to the naked eye you do not notice it, in fact i have never seen, but if using a camera you see this LED that blinks continuously. With the phone turned on does not do it, only when it is switched off ...
It is not any reflection, I used two cameras and from different angles you see the same LED always flashing in the usual place ...
Does anyone know if it is normal this thing ??? Thanks

It's the proximity sensor.

But it should not go ON only for calls?

Nope, that behavior is completely normal.
The proximity sensor is also used to prevent the use of the power button and the fingerprint scanner when the is zero light. Personally this annoys me since I came from a Nexus 5X, and unlocking the phone in my pocket gives a feel of a faster unlock.
Great, thank you all for the answers. I was already worried lol
However Note 5 did not do it ... meh!
Thanks again!

Camera problem!

Dear all,
When I use my HTC U Ultra camera, there is something wrong appear in every scence which has lights. They look like reflections of the lights with various blurred dot shape.
Sorry because I'm new here so I can not post an attachment for example. I have come to the store and tested this case with another U Ultra, however, it resulted in the same way.
Look forward to your guy reply.

Hi there,
I have exactly the same problem. Have you been able to solve it?
Enviado desde mi HTC U Ultra mediante Tapatalk
That is what I believe to be laser autofocus. Don't worry too much.
It's quite impossible not to be worrried... The problem exist, and is not nice...
If ot is on all Htc U Ultra, it's annoying... Someone else experimentes this? Solutions? Halos don't appear only on photos, but also on the screen when you are taking the photo...
I have seen this under very intensive lightning but it is not frequent. Usually slight change of the angle of shooting solves the problem.
Holy crap.. i just notice it outside.. i will upload video or photos..

Are you guys kidding? It's flaring which happens with every lens while aiming at bright light sources.

Well that looks like a picture taken in very bad conditions (poorly lit overall environment except for a source of light right in the middle) taken with a smartphone camera that was rather average even by 2017 standards.
The halos around the lamp might be either because of a dirty lens (maybe on the inside?) or because you moved the phone a little (the exposure must have been very long, like 0.5 seconds or so). The noise is rather normal given the first paragraph.
Later I'll try a similar shot...

Hi
I was sure this happened when I installed Lineage but now I see that the glass was a bit greasy "embarrassing" I cleaned it and the halos are gone. I was so focused on the Lineage install spoiling the camera driver, thanks.
