Sprint note 4 lte + data enabled fix (miui 7)

NOTE: THIS IS FOR THE US SPRINT NOTE 4 WITH MIUI 7
Ok so I know it has been a while since I last updated this post. I switched back to TW rom and was planning to just wait till either a fix has been
made or the developer fixed the issue. i just tried it again last night, dualbooted both miui from both gtbluesky and bxfxf.
I updated them both to the newest versions and it seems the issue has still not been fixed. I have also seen talk on bxfxf's post about
the thread being dead so i am going to be concentrating on miui from gtbluesky. To be clear i have not found a fix for the issue. I did however
make an app to use as a workaround.
Prerequisites
Miui by either gtbluesky(Recomended) or bxfxf
Xposed framework by rovo89
wsm (xposed installer) by BurgerZ and BalcanGSM
GravityBox[KK] by C3C076
call/text fix (made with Tasker)
Downloads
gtbluesky's rom or bxfxf's rom
Xposed wsm
Gravitybox
call/text fix
apns-conf.xml
instructions
Fallow instructions to install the rom of your choice i have not tested the app on bxfxf's rom so if it does not work as planned let me know and ill make a separate one for it ASAP.
then install and activate xposed and Gravitybox (may have to reboot phone a couple times)
install call/text fix and Enable autostart.
To enable autostart open Security click permissions then autostart and toggle call/text fix to On.
(optional) if you have not already manually added apn from old post
use a root explorer and place the apns-conf.xml file in /system/etc and Change file permissions to 644 rw-r--r--
P.S. i did attempt to make an installable zip... its embarrassing to say but it is out of my skill level right now
i couldnt figure out if if was that i just failed horribly or if my dualbooting the rom was interfearing...
if someone wants to do the work for me be my guest i'll add it to the post
Features
automatically switches from LTE to 3G when you open Phone, Contacts,or Messaging.
It does not have an interface it is just a background service though if the service is ever deactivated or killed (which shouldnt happen) click on the icon to Restart the service.
Bugs
If you find any let me know
OLD THREAD
I've been using this rom a couple days now and have been searching for a way to enable lte data but all ive been able to do with the current settings
is enable the radio on 4g but still no internet.
what i did was flashed back to stock rooted 5.1.1 and dualbooted miui7 by bxfxf (http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/development/miui7-sprint-samsung-galaxy-note4-t3235227)
by installing to the data partition with dualboot patcher by chenxiaolong (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2447534)
Now in the stock rom i used the msl code for my phone to view the LTE APN
and copied the info to my pc then booted into miui7
Note: dualbooting is not required for this to work but was necessary to get the APN and is fascinating if anyone is interested.
Step one
once miui is booted go to settings/mobile networks/Access Point Names and select Sprint (should be the only apn there)
Here are the settings
Name = Sprint
APN = n.ispsn
Proxy = Not set
Port = Not set
Username = Not set
Password = Not set
Server = Not set
MMSC = http://mms.sprintpcs.com
MMS proxy= 68.28.31.7
MMS port= 80
MCC= 310
MNC= 120
Authentication type=None
APN type = default,mms (can add in more supl,dun,fota but i think those are stock specific so i left them out)
APN protocol = ipv4/ipv6
APN roaming = ipv4/ipv6
Bearer = Unspecified
MVNO type = None
Important: now save apn.
Step Two
open dialer and type in *#*#4636#*#* and select Phone Information
scroll down and select the first setting and change it to
LTE,CDMA and EvDo or LTE,CDMA,EvDo, GSM/WCDMA
and exit
Step Three
Reboot and Enjoy 4G LTE Data
UPDATE This fix only updates the apn to give access to 4g lte data and mms. The only issue left is OUTGOING sms and calls.(can still receive sms and answer calls on 4g) Unfortunately that is NOT an APN issue. An APN only effects DATA and MMS. (You can in fact actually use your phone to call and send sms with no apn at all.) However if i am not mistaken it is an issue with how the rom utilizes the modem.
temp fix...ish when not using internet switch to 3g only (sorry guys that's all we can do till someone fixes this issue)
This may work on other US phones with miui though I'm not sure
If this does not work for you and you loose signal open APN settings again and select Reset to Defaults at the bottom then reboot
This works great. Thanks a lot for sharing! I thought I'd note that while the internet was blazing fast, I could not make calls until the data information was changed to LTE,CDMA,EvDo, GSM/WCDMA. That is, calls did not send on simply LTE, CDMA, EvDo.
Even after changing the apn and changing over to LTE,CDMA,EvDo,GSM/WCDMA I still cant get call or text to go out..... but thanks for the LTE fix
To be honest I never noticed till you said something an it seem to only happen when it is connected to 4g and only when making a call or sending a text. I tested it and I can receive messages while on 4g and receive and answer calls as well I'm at a loss for why they don't work when making them. Also When the settings are all the same and it switches to 3g itself when no 4g is around it works perfactly. I'll look into it further thank you for bringing it to my attention.

N910F - Phone won't connect to mobile internet no matter which ROM I try.

As the title suggests, I can't connect to mobile data no matter what. I have tried DrKetan's L8 ROM as well as Kyubi ROM 3.2. It won't connect no matter what. Maybe its a modem problem? I noticed that I have a modem from Germany (Germany - DE) while I live in Greece (Greece - BY). Also I'm on COI3 bootloader. Can you guys help me? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Some feedback please?
Come on guys, no one?
Only mobile data right? Can you make and receive calls or sms?
Have you had a look under [Settings -> More networks -> Mobile networks-> APN ] and see if you're missing some settings there?

Exactly, only mobile data. SMS and calls working as expected. What should I do about APN? I never had to set that up on a ROM before.

1) Mobile data box is ticked?
2) Did you set your network mode to LTE/WCDMA/GSM(auto connect) ? and not gsm only?
3)Do you have any options under APN - your providers mobile data setting could be missing. Not a big issue you can contact your sim provider and ask them for the APN settings to get mobile data. They should be able to provide you with the settings and the correct values. Else google search apn for that provider and maybe it'll result in the values for you to add manually.
I only remember having to do it once before myself a while back, hope this helps you out mate.

Moto G gen4, CDMA, MMS not working (issue + partial resolution)

I believe this issue is not specific to a variant of the Moto G Gen 4, but in case, mine is a Amazon version with OEM.img flashed in. I have 2 of the same device, configured this way, with the same issue.
Carrier: Sprint / Ting, CDMA/LTE SIM card.
Issue: MMS messages do not send, and do not download.
Things that did not fix it:
-Carrier Reset (*#*#72786#*#* )
-Update PRL
-Update Device Config
-reboots
-MMSC is not visible in *#*#DATA#*#* menu
-Tried switching from Google Hangouts App, to Google Messenger App, no change.
Partial Resolution / Workaround: Set preferred network to 3G instead of LTE. When I did this, I got all of my queued up messages. (I found this idea at a social.ringplus.net discussion 6646 how-to-fix-mms-on-the-moto-g4-plus p2 (new user so I can't link directly, but feel I should give credit where it is due)
I am not a high-data-use person so this works for me at present. Hopefully a real fix will be discovered soon though.
That's a classic example of bad APN settings, are you sure those are right?
Sent from my SM-T530NU using XDA-Developers mobile app
I am not sure. Though I'm a engineer/programmer, I am a novice at phone stuff.
I'm currently testing the "install textra and see how it changes/fixes the behavior" option mentioned on my source thread, and then iteratively testing changes to network type and wifi on/off, on one of the two phones. That seems to have improved it somewhat, but I am not 100% sure yet.
Textra reports the APN settings to be:
MMSC:
Code:
http mms sprintpcs com
(new users URL post prohibited)
MMS proxy: 68.28.31.7
MMS Proxy port: 80
I may have to install a different app on the un-Textra-ed phone to see what the info is before installing Textra. (It is very annoying that Motorola removed APN info viewing from the phone's default software. )

I think that's a Sprint / US Cellular only thing, as I can view and edit my Verizon APN settings on my G4.
No issues on Sprint with mine. My mode is on Global. Try *#*#72786#*#* to reprovision the phone.
Anyone else on Sprint figure a way to get the APN settings to work for hotspot? I added ,dun to several of my APNs but still won't allow me to turn on hotspot

That's the "Carrier Reset" which was mentioned earlier. It did not affect the issue when I did it at the request of my provider's tech support.
You have a corrupted MSID. Ask Ting support to assign you a new MSID, reprovision, and all will be well
After using it this way for a while, MMS appears to now work correctly on any band (3g, LTE), and on WiFi. I did the same procedure on the second phone (install textra, set 3G preferred, verify working, and then set everything back to how it was before (text messaging on hangouts, LTE preferred).
(Tech support suggested setting MMSc to http://mms.plspictures.com, but I have not because it is now working)
If I remember to install an app to view the information, I will post again with what the "default" settings were before textra was installed, as I'll probably be buying yet another amazon Moto G4, as one of our went through the laundry

Enabling IMS on V20 H990DS

I have a rooted H990DS which was of the AME variant, but I changed it to ESA using this guide (switch AME and ESA instead of AME and AU):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/convert-h990ds-ame-to-au-volte-root-t3783232
Note: I did not factory reset
Now after editing my MCC and MNC (T-Mobile USA, which I am using, uses MCC: 310 and MNC: 260) into a bunch of the XML files in the ESA config folder by replacing the values into the spots for other providers, I can confirm that those changes take effect and now the VoLTE tile is available under my quick settings and IMS options in the hidden menu work. However, the option for VoLTE does not show up in settings and VoLTE does not work. With "Show icon" enabled under debug in the hidden menu IMS settings, the notification always says disconnected (from IMS). I am wondering if the numbers are wrong for things like VoLTE retry code or I forgot to enable certain options in the files or I need to call T-Mobile to get my IMSI registered as IMS or what is not working. Any help on this would be appreciated!
Note: I am using T-Mobile US.

I tried to get VoLTE and WFC to work for the longest time... it never happened for me. I'll be curious to see if this works out for you.
But try giving T-Mobile a call and tell them to activate VoLTE on your line and WFC. Make sure your IMEI is in their database as well.
Let me know if this works, I'd love a guide on all the XML edits you made.

Just called, they said they could not do anything on a non-TMO phone. The US996 I had previously (RMA'd for a defect) could make VoLTE calls, and it was not TMO bought. The network will support it, but I think the problem is on the phone's side. What that problem is, we need to find. If I could somehow find a US996 and find the IMS settings there it could work...

Aw damn. Yeah, I'm not sure there's anything left for us to do. I tried a lot of different things. Even found the /ipsec/ folder files taht were missing and created them from some other T-Mobile users and it didn't make a difference. Not really sure if there's anything we can do. I might grab the OnePlus 6 lol.

However, note that I didn't factory reset like the other guide said. I will try to do that and see if it installs the new frameworks.
