Skip Music Tracks with Volume Keys - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Guides, News, & Discussion

I was getting pretty annoyed with the Stock Firmware for the S8+ Not being able to use the volume buttons to Skip music tracks - I found this app - Smart Pocket and it works! I can't believe that Samsung doesn't have this option built-in to the Firmware...

Yeah it was driving me Bat Crap Crazy! It's absolutely idiotic that this basic function isn't included in the Firmware... And you are very welcome ?

Ok...so the picture above shows what im using, its just a cheap $5 y adapter from amazon...its worked fine in the past on my previous phones (samsung infuse and htc vivid) however when I play music through it on my s4 it cause "glitches" like artifacts from the lockscreen will pop up...status bar will "jitter" ...its hard to explain so check out the video for an example...just a few seconds long - there is no issue with headphones so im confused why this is happening...and it happens with all music players not just stock...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSBUkhol4Bg -wait while that processes
Any one have any ideas?
Any suggestions?
Any body have a y adapter they can try and replicate it with?
Should I return my device?
-Theres no issue using this adapter with my other phones
-headphones give no problems...and this essentialy should act the same as headphones...its just going to speakers instead

DLNA

Hey guys...Not sure what this is, why it's using so much battery, and why it won't let me stop it. I've looked around and have only seen things about miracast... Which I'm not using. So needless to say, I'm pretty confused.
Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

That's the media streamer services. Make sure miracast is turned off.

I did... Weirdly, none of that stuff was turned on. I finally was able to disable the whole dlna app... I guess unless I want to stream media (which I don't) I won't miss it.

Apollo On KitKat

Hi guys I have upgraded to kitkat and currently running cm11 nightlys. I have been using play music since I got my nexus but thinking of switching over to the apollo music player. Just one thing, does apollo have the same lockscreen widget as play music? Thanks.
Why don't you check bro?

Try my new app. Control music by knocking on your phone!

Knock Control - best way to control your phone!
Knock Control completely changes the way you listen to music on your android device. You can put your phone in the pocket and knock on it to switch tracks, play, resume, change volume etc. There were no similar apps in Play store, that were working OK, so I created KnockControl. Try it! Don`t waste your time putting your phone out of the pocket!
So far you can:
• Play/pause
• Increase/lower the volume.
• switch tracks (next, previous)
You can set any sequence for any action! (Absolutely any!)
Play store: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.LatvianBeaver.knockcontrol

Weird Google Notification

Hey everyone,
I'm getting a weird Google notification in the top left of my screen. No information given, and I can't get rid of it. Anyone experienced this before? Also getting issues with music stopping when played through earphones since this "notification" popped up.
Could just be a coincidence with the music since the notification stays even after unplugging/not listening to music.

It's stock ROM, but with Nova.
Update: and therein lies the problem. A quick jump back to stock launcher and the notification disappears.
An issue with Nova if anyone comes across it in the future.
