I am trying to do this (tether and use my phone as a hot spot) without annoying anyone but I also don't want to screw up my phone. I love my phone. It has a new battery and it works better (IMO) than newer versions. I can't figure out which files to download and what to do after that. I'm pretty sure I figured out how to root it a few months ago but I got scared after that.

I'm a new member here, come from germany and have a polish Note 3 (LTE Model) with the official fw 4.4.2.
I have not root device or custom rom. I have no idea from this.
Please excuse if I make mistakes.
The bluetooth-sound sounds like in certain games terrible!
Completely distorted and always repeating sound in the games Real Racing 3, Rayman Jungle Run and Rayman Fiesta Run.
Maybe the developers just need to set and adjust the bluetooth sound this KitKat version.
I have written more than two weeks ago and reported the developers of Real Racing 3, but not received a reply.
It may be affected more games or apps, I do not know.
All LWP by the developers Ruslan Sokolovsky, OXSIONSOFT, CodeFaqtory not work!
None of the live wallpaper can be set!
I wrote to one of the developers, he tried to adjust his wallpaper, but to no avail!
They all use the same type of programming logic.

You know what to do now?
Some time ago I bought (tricked) a Bepa G900W very bad clone from Galaxy S5.
Once I began to know what kind of bug it was I decided to install a better custom Rom.
Right now it has this ROM:
Model: SM-G900W
Android version: 4.4.2 (I'm not sure this is true)
Baseband version: G900SKSU1ANDCD
Kernel: 3.4.5 [email protected] #1
Compilation: KOT49H.G900SKSU1AND3
My problem is that I can't install Android Wear. The Play Store doesn't show it, and when try to install directly from an APK, it gives an "analysis error", "an error has been produced when analysing the apk".
Does any of you know a possible solution?
TIA
I just found that this specific kitkat version 4.4.2 for MTK6582 is really API level 17.
Is there anything against cooking a Kitkat ROM, API level 18, for MTK6582 devices? Nobody has done it yet?
Hi everyone, I'm needing to root a note 3 and wanted to make sure it's possible even if I have to downgrade it, can you post links on the correct downloads I need, that would be very appreciated.

Install Phone Info in Playstore. You see all the info.

Great. Thanks

It still doesn't show if I have the standard versions of KNOX. Is Shared devices factory? My phone is not for work, not set up to work remote, VPN or anything special. Just normal very basic use. I have not been able to find this information.

The only thing I can find on KNOX shared devices, it seems IT has to install and set up. It wouldn't show up anywhere as a virus, it is an invasion of my privacy in every way. I can not force stop most apps, I have WiFi and Bluetooth sharing that shows off in settings, but icon shows running. VPN logs and I don't have a VPN. Please help if you know what I can do. No one has had authority to change my phone in anyway.
No, these are NOT normal
You have been compromised. Go into android recovery and check out your logs. You are being surveilled most likely by a government agency. I know because this same thing has occurred to me. PM me for more details. Live audio and video are being streamed from you're device to a cloud database. I am being totally serious here.
How to fix
I have changed phones, phone numbers, email accounts... Same problems, different names. Please check your inbox. If anyone else is willing to help, Please send me a PM

I seem to be experiencing the same problem but it's with a galaxy note 5. There also is mention of a surface root. Mynsignificant other can send apps that load on my phone buway of i phone se. Any advice as to how remedy the situation?
Some new apps are not compatible and won't download. I want to get this device updated/upgraded to a very recent Android version. Can someone direct me to the procedure?
Note that I have never hacked this device, nor any other device. But its my favourite.
Regards,
Lou

A good starting point is search for your model device on youtube on installing twrp, which is a replacement for the stock recovery.

BTW I have a background in computer design so I understand terms like "ROM image" and "rooting", but a few clarifications will help:
1 - How do I back up my tablet's data so that it can be "imported" back into the upgraded device? I assume there is Win 10 software for this?
2 - After much reading, does TWRP Recovery replace the Android v5.1.1 or just its recovery software or is 5.1.1 still there? Must I choose a TWRP version for a specific device or Android version- like my T330NU?
3 -How does LineageOS fit into this? It appears to be a custom ROM that is installed after TWRP Recovery. Does TWRP Recovery help load LineageOS?
4 - After installing TWRP recovery, MUST I install a (custom) ROM? Is the ROM where the functionality and GUI reside that replace the old Android version?
5 - Is milletwifi a custom ROM? (Its not on a list?) Do the custom ROMs typically have WIFI or must I look for ones that do?
