I cannot turn on my N7's NFC anymore. Whenever I try to turn it on, the option will just remain grayed out. I even tried quicksetting toggles to no avail.
I have tried different kernels, rom, and even flashed the Google stock image but it is still grayed out no matter what I do.
When my N7 was still new, I would always turn it off since I don't have other NFC devices and tags. Eventually I forgot about it and didn't bother with it whenever I flash a new rom.
However, there was a point when I flashed buttered AOKP rom and I noticed that NFC is taking a huge amount of battery in the battery report in settings. This is when I discovered that my NFC is not working anymore.
Interestingly, whenever I am on buttered AOKP, battery report would show that NFC is taking a huge amount of battery. I even notice the draining even when my device is idle. This does not happen to any other ROMs that I have tried. However, I am not implying that buttered AOKP caused this problem on my device, especially since there are no other users who have experienced this issue.
It is really a shame since I recently got a N4 and I can finally make use of NFC android beam. Do you have any other ideas or suggestions for this issue? Do you think that this is hardware related already? It would be great if there is a way to conclusively test that this is a hardware issue since it is really bothering me.
HI Guys,
i Updated my Phone via factory image to Android 5.1 all worked well during the update.
I spotted that with the stock 5.1 my phone got hot when active and the battery went down very fast (and by active i mean just doing normal stuff).
So i decided to go to cm12.1, installation also worked well, but had the same problems here.
Then i went back to stock 5.1 but still the same problems, my phone is getting hot and battery life is getting low when i use it.
When not in use its ok, it baerelly uses battery then.
I searched in forum and google also, but couldnt find anything rly helpfull, i think of going back to 5.0.1
TL: DR
Since Update to 5.1 Phones runes hot and the battery is going low very fast when in use.
Does anyone know this issue and has some advice to solve them?

If I go to Settings -> Battery I do not see 'Battery Care' like I've read about and seen in some of the reviews. If you don't know it's supposed to learn your charging pattern and then not fully charge your battery above 90% until you're about to unplug it.
Do you guys have this? Phone bought in USA from Amazon.
Model F5321
Android 6.0.1
Build 34.1.A.3.49
Mine was there from the start but to be fair, I first flashed the uk custom firmware to enable the fingerprint sensor which also put me on nougat. Maybe try that or just updating to nougat and see if it appears.

According to the white paper, Battery Care feature is not avaliable in US market (also with fingerprint reader). You have to flash a non-US firmware to enable it.
The Battery Care option is now available in the US after the 7.1.1 update.

You need to open your device just go to the local phone repair shop and ask him to open the device then remove the battery and press the power button for 10 seconds while the battery is removed, then re insert the battery and you are good to go!
Change the battery it will be fixed
I did this a couple months ago and it worked perfectly
Problem Battery too
My moto g4 plus is turning itself off after the battery reaches 50%, when playing, turns off after reaching 50% when watching videos on youtube, turns off from 30%. Could it be ROM problem? I opened the cell phone, and I removed the battery and put it back, I saw many videos on the internet explaining several things about how I could solve it, I did it all and unfortunately I did not succeed. I'm using the original Moto G4 plus ROM ... What could be the problem ROM? If I change the Rom, will I succeed, and solve the problem?
Same random shutdowns after battery change
I have the same issue (random shutdowns when receiving calls, watching videos, etc) since I changed to a new battery in my G4 Plus XT1644 (old one was draining fast but never failed).
I have tried with STOCK ROM, LineageOS, Kernel Adiutor tweaks, nothing seems to work. Please help!!!
Should I buy another battery?
Stock Nougat 7.0 saved a phone from the bin
For the last few months I've been hopping from the Nougat and Oreo versions of Lineage and Omnirom and getting no joy. First I noticed that after turbo charge my phone would drain on idle from 100% to 80% in literally a few minutes. So, I stopped using the turbo charger and that seemed to remedy it. Then, the phone would reboot itself once it got below 60%. As I said, all of this was on both Nougat and Oreo versions of Lineage and Omnirom.
A few days ago I was ready to bin the entire phone out of rage. I hated the sight of it and didn't want to chance changing the battery in case something else with the phone was to blame. For whatever reason, I came across https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/development/rom-oreo-8-1-0-soak-test-t3873367 and since being on stock Nougat have not had a single problem regarding the battery. I can not believe it. Turbo charging works fine now and I am getting just over a day's use out of my phone.
One happy Moto G4 Plus user again
