I suspect it has something to do with the recent update. I have a notification of 2 missed calls, I don't have any missed calls that I didn't check, I re-booted the phone and they are still there. Any way to get rid of them?
Thanks.

Aha substratum is for custom roms. Then I don't know unfortunately.?
Try this : go to the parameters of the phone application, switch off notifications and switch them on. Perhaps it will clean up your unwanted missed calls.

Have you finished your problem? I have the same problem, so I want to know your situation.
@JLLE - OK, got it, I can see the Phone now. You mean Settings (Parameters).
Before I do anything, here is what I found and it definitely started after the recent update to B32:
Apparently, calls from numbers in my Contacts, are not being identified by the Phone as neither Incoming calls or Outgoing calls, it just shows an orange phone with question mark icon next to it. These are the 'missed calls' that I see. Clearly, after deleting these calls from the call log, the 'missed calls' disappear, but the question why can't the phone identify these calls as an incoming call that was answered?
See attached screen shots.
Anyone else with the same problem

No I haven't got the problem, but we are not using the same model of Axon thus not the same rom.

Hi, do you fix your phone's problem?
ZTE themselves tell you, if the phone has been used much, when updating, back up your data and do a reset first. I also do a reset after update before restoring personal data.

What does it mean "used much"?! Define much...or perhaps ZTE should define it.
So, we're suppose to do a factory reset after each update and then restore? Or in other words - spend hours on restoring the phone because of an update? This is ridiculous.

I had success removing the pesty badge. Open the phone app to the call history list. Select the call which you suspect first caused the error.
My problem began only a few days ago and I know exactly who called when the problem showed up.
Select: All Calls. Long press on the problem call in the list. Select: Delete call history.
(Only the selected call instance will be deleted.)
My badge went away immediately.

Hello!
I did a Hard-Reset, since some things weren't working fine.
After having finished the installation, I recognized that there is
NO SOUND
NO POPUP
NO BLINKING OF LED
NO VIBRATION
when I receive a SMS.
I don't know, what I can do to "repair".
PLEASE HELP!!
have you tried
Start>Settings>Sounds & Notifications>Notifications>Event: Messaging: New Text Message
...of course I tried this.
Any other ideas?
Did you by any chance hide the ActiveSync (POP3) folder in your messaging application by editing your registry? I suppose the chances you did are quite small... Then again, it never hurts to ask.
First of all, are you getting other notifications? I.e. incoming call, etc?
What has worked for me when this has happened is to go to sounds/notification and select the sound to use when a new text message is received, then select the play button beside it to play a demo of the audio. For some reason, it seems like that helps my device to register the wake up action to take when a new call is received.
Hope this helps!
@Eggy
Yes, I removed the ActiveSync-account and the Hotmail-account in the registry.
Is there a connection between removing these accounts and hearing no sms-notifications?
@lulugirl896
For an incoming call it works fine.
I also played the sound in the options (like you wrote) but nothing changes.

Try returning the ActiveSync key the way it was. The Hotmail one shouldn't make a difference.

Hi all,
I've had a search for this but can't find any solutions.
Unless i'm being really stupid I xcan't find a way to make my XDA mini S count only OUTGOING calls. Basically, I get 100 free minutes a month and currently have no idea how many I am using. The only thing I can get the phone to count is a total of in and outgoing calls which is utterly useless.
Any suggestions?
Alex
DkToday is the app you need, it counts outgoing calls and sms. You can set the date you want to roll-over as well ( my minutes are round up and charged to me every 11th of the month.) I'll attach two files here. First install version 1.69, then replace with the dll in version 1.80. good luck!
Where's the setting options in dktoday?
Sorry, I forgot to mention that. Go to start-settings-today-items and tap the DKToday Plug-in. Then select options on the right side of the plug-in list, and the options menu pops-up.
When you say replace the DLL do you mean simply install the older version then copy and paste the new version into the install location?
Many thanks
Yes. If I remember correctly, the 1.80 cab only contains the .dll file and not the complete program. Simply installing the 1.80 cab should work, but not without having 1.69 installed first. So simply install version 1.69 and then install 1.80 over the old version.
Ah brill, have got it working. So if i tap on the phone icon is it meant to take me to missed calls? It doesn't seem to wor. The bluetooth one does. And what is the bar in the top right? battery? Is there a way to turn that off?
Downloaded this but cannot install on the Wizard.
Two files nether of which will install.
00CAB2BE.001
0DKTODAY.000
How do I get this on ?
the bar in the top right is a signal strength indicator, it shows you how strong your signal to the nearest GSM transmitter is, like the phone icon in the top bar. Clicking on it turns your screen off. Tapping on the phone symbol only works when you have a missed call. It then pops-up a screen, asking you if you want to call back the number you have not answered. It will not take you to the missed call section like the dialer does when you press the calls button there.
Disabling some lines in the plug-in can be done in options, by selecting which lines ( 1, 2 or 3) it should show.
@Nikko2: copy the cab files to your device using Active Sync or Explorer, than execute them from there, first 1.69, then 1.80. Choose Device as install location and it should work.
It doesn't count the sms. I have 150 and it comes out 000
Same here. App is not counting the text messages.
It first starts counting when you recieve an SMS. The only problem i have with that is that it counts my deliverynotifications as well. So it allways counts +1 when i sent a sms and get the notification. It doesn´t count how many sms you have in your inbox

Problem is, mine doesn't count in or out going sms. at all.
DKToday only counts sms delivery notifications. Be sure to turn that on. When you type a new message, go to menu-options and check the box. When the delivery notification is received by your phone, the app counts 1 sent sms. There is a way to turn these delivery notifications permanently on. I have posted this in a similar thread and it is also posted in the original thread on this program. use the search.
Be sure to verify if your provider charges you for these notifications, because some do. In Holland these notifications are free of charge, but that does not always go for other countries, so be sure to check this to avoid nasty surprises on your bill.

Hey guys just got the phone 2 days ago and i have a few trouble with it.
Long time user of android since G1 but some of the common things i do is not as visible as it seems.
I am from south east asia and i am using the DXJF4 firmware.
Right now the most common problem is that :
1) When you receive sms, you get 2 notifications one from the original sms from android and one from the samsung sms manager. How can i disable the original one?
2)How the hell do you assign ringtones? It seems like it's not easily accessed from the contacts menu?
3) On the top left handside above the volume button there seems to be a hole is that my set alone or is there a reason to have a hole there?
Okay so after searching a bit i found some of the answers.
1) There is no way to disable the 2 notifications for sms. You get both which is an arse.
I can't find any way to disable the original one.
2)You can only assign individual ringtone to contacts in the phone, that measn your google contacts can't be assigned. What a load of crap.
I'm sure there's a way to fix those. As soon as I get mine up and running, I'll try and help.
If all else fails, a custom rom will fix it, whenever that happens

The hole is where you would mount a wrist strap, or in Korea, one of those dangling decorations they all love.
I dun have this problem. I only receive 1 notification for SMS.
For assigning ringtones to contacts, this option is not available if your contacts are not phone contacts, eg contacts synced with gmail. The only way to assign ringtone to these contact is to create a phone contact and link the 2 together. Then you can assign the ringtone to the phone contact. This works for me.
Hmm yeah the phone contact is dumb IMHO.
But i am getting to notification, one white sms logo like the old android and another yellow envelope which i think is the samsung one.
What firmware are you on?
I am using a Malaysian unit with JBF4 i think.

I use Handcent, Missed Call (from Market by Anno), SPC (Super Private conversation) and the stock sms app.
You can disable the samsung sms notification.
Go to the stock Messaging
Click on the left button. Menu will pop up.
Click on Setting
Scroll down all the way and there is a notification setting.
Disable that.
Hope that helps.
Nah i am using only the default one. Haih i guess i will try to update to JFX5 and see if that helps.

I haven't use the regular message from the beginning.
Try using Handcent Sms, its free. And I have made customized handcent sms for X10.
check this forum handcent sms Modified to XPERIA X10 GUI
Once you installed,
On Handcent, go to settings/sent notifications/pick notify when message is received.
and do a test msg to a friend. It should show you an indication and you can pick custom tone.
Note:
if you get 2 notification for one message its because handcent and regular message both alerting for same event.
go to regular message and setting and remove all the notifications. keep only handcent.
Good luck

Hi all,
I think I'm having a similar problem -
When I send a message, it definitely is sent - my friends are receiving them - but in Handcent, I get the blue-turning circle next to the message (as if it is still sending) and in the stock messaging app, the same message has the envelope with the exclamation mark.
Yet the messages ARE being sent.
This has only just started happening in the last day or so. I have installed quite a few apps to help save the battery since rooting - e.g. JuiceDefender, SetCPU, TaskPanel and StartUp Manager, but as far as I can tell I've not done anything to the SMS settings. As far as I can tell...
I'm on R2BA023, rooted, on O2 UK.
I've had a look through all the settings I can think of but I'm stumped now. This is the final niggle in my otherwise great new rooted set-up...
Hey - just wanted to update as I seem to have fixed it...
Not sure HOW, but it's one of the following. Seems to be something in "Startup Manager".
1) I had removed "Handcent SMS" for "User startup". Under the basis of "if I need it, I will run it".
2) Had removed the default x10 "Messaging" app from "System startup". It had 3 entries in there. I removed them all...
So one of those things broke the Outbox. As I mentioned, messages would send (confirmed by friends) but still appear as "in progress".
So, having put them all back in "System Startup", and rebooted, the "stuck" messages finally stopped being "stuck". Fixing it seems to have sent the messages again, but they are no longer "in progress". They are, however, time-stamped with the current time (e.g. today) and not the time sent (e.g. yesterday). It turns out they have been "sent" again.
Oh dear, I just tinkered to try to pinpoint the problem and I've broken it again.
Further edit:
Actually, far from having fixed it, it seems that now the "stuck" messages only send during a reboot.
Trying to send them when the phone is "on" just leaves them stuck in the outbox. If I power off & on, they leave the outbox... BUT the recipient gets them again.
Damnit.
Any ideas?

I dont think your rooting or any other application will affect this.
tell us what settings are u on when you go to :
On Handcent, go to settings/sent notifications/"What option??"
I think it's not so much the "rooting" as possibly "things I have tinkered with after I got power-crazy after rooting", i.e. trying to disable things I don't need from running at startup. Un-doing that seemed to improve it...
Odd that at the moment it sends during boot. So something runs at boot that sends my outbox messages, but it can't run once the phone is on.
I just uninstalled Handcent and used the stock app. Sent a message first time with no problems...
I will reinstall Handcent and take a look at what happens. I can't not have that app now, I love it (until I broke it).

its exclamation for all....
Well, re-installed Handcent. Seems to be okay now.
It's a bit odd, I never changed the settings in there, as far as I can tell.
Shiwantha, I remember that initially "Sent notifications" was on "Disable" but I changed it to "Notify when sent" when I was having problems, and it made no difference.
Anyway, it's fixed now. Thanks for your help!
A quick follow-up... I like to give as much info as possible in these situations so anyone else who happens to find this problem may find something here that helps...
After re-installing Handcent, there are now two entries in StartUp Manager's "User" section. After my previous tinker-sessions, I could only see one to enable/disable, but I thought there were two before.
So I think that I "broke" one of those start-up entries.
For the record, it is working now and I have:
- Disabled ALL "Messaging" entries in "system" section of Startup Manager
- Left BOTH entries for Handcent SMS in "user" section of Starup Manager
The only conclusion I can think of is that by disabling the "Handcent" entries, I "broke" one of them, and so could only re-enable one of the entries. I assume the other one had some kind of SMS outbox functionality.
I'm just guessing though. But at least I can disable the "messaging" stock apps and it all still works.
FIXED. Relief!

In additon to owning the X10 I own the X1. The message delivery notification was driving me mad on the X1. With the X10 I noticed there is a red X if the message has not been sent. However, once it is send the red X is cleared away. I like it this way much better.

I'm saying whatsapp doesn't care how you configure it, it overrides DND config. and rings anyway.

I know but whatsapp can't ignore it unless you approved it dnd doesn't allow it... so you will have to find where it is allowed to ring
Did anyone ever find a solution for this?
I think this is not device specific cos it happens on my lady's Mi5 and my Zuk Z2 as well.
Whatsapp popups keep popping up even if DND is enabled.
Has anyone found fix for this. It's same issue in my OPO3T ?
I have the same problem: WA was quiet for the last month. Couple of days before it starts to ignore the dnd-mode.
I have the same issue on my Pixel XL. No exceptions to DND except alarms. Whatsapp routinely chimes anyway in the earl early morning.
So far I couldn't find a workaround unless I select the option to just allow alarms (no calls, no sms, absolutely nothing).
It's really frustratung because I just want to silences whatsapp and e-mails and whatsapp with any customized way of DND it overrides it and keeps sounding

Went back to WhatsApp Stable 2.17.323 and the problems are gone.
I'm having the same issue... Note 8 running Nougat 7.0 and latest whatsapp as of February 13, 2018.
Any ideas?
I started a help ticket with Whatsapp. They weren't helpful. They said that they've never heard reports of the problem. They asked me to send them a video replicating the problem. I told them that I'd have to wait up all night awaiting a possible whatsapp text that would break the Do Not Disturb rule. They said without a video, there was nothing that they could do.
For anyone who is still interested in a solution for this, I came up with something, just select Messages "None" over in priority settings menu. It's the only thing I could come up with to fix this
I've done that already in the Do Not Disturb settings. It doesn't help.
I've consistently had this issue for the entire time I've owned my Pixel (1st Gen)
I started having same issue with Pixel XL on Android P. What's app calls ring no matter what. Any ideas?
