Hello guys whats the best ics u have used so far on your sgs2 i9100???
Gingerbread rom kernel combo also appreciated!!
GB Roms I like RevoHD 6 + Siyah kernel.
For ICS, I've been using The latest Foxhound + Stock kernel, only cause CM9 doesn't have working video yet, if video isn't a priority i'd go with CM9 for sure.
thebyani rom v3.2
All leaked ICS Roms based not worked to me for everyday use, I had bootloops, hans, freezes there and here... A little annoying. I would suggest CheckROM v6 based en XWLA4, its the best rom i've used!
Without any hesitation, I'd say Thebyani v3.2
It works like a charm, no lag/FC at all and great battery life ! All the bugs I met with other roms are fixed in this one. Give it a try !
I can't really say anything about ICS roms as the ones that I did test were still very buggy and not stable at all
But I have had my share of GB roms.
Started with Hydroxigen but couldn't get my keyboard to appear (I was a flashing n00b back then )
So I went to GingerMod v0.8, this rom was REALLY good for me. It was very fast, stable and in combination with Speedmod kernel a real battery-saver
Only thing I didn't like was that the Gingermod updates didn't work for me. I could download them and it would reboot into recovery and install them but I never noticed any difference.
Then I went to Checkrom RevoHD V6 together with Redpill and the Magic UV config (adapted to my own device obviously ) and I am still using this to this day. The Kitchen app works like a charm and I even have my Azerty samsung keyboard I really hated the AOSP gingerbread keyboard! No .com button?! Special characters and smileys on different locations? Yurg!
So my current and favourite Rom/kernel combo is: Checkrom RevoHD v6 + Redpill kernel
If you want the best GB stock for battery life and not cluttered up with all kinds of useless mods, then go with VillainRom 3.0 and siyah kernel.
If FM radio and video recording aren't important then CM9 rocks. All these people who complain of reboots fc's etc. haven't flashed it correctly
Best bet is to nandroid and then try them all, feed that addiction baby...................
I'm using official ICS beta (rooted) XXLPB as my daily driver since it was released. It works great, not bugs/hangs or any other crap.
Using Phone, Mobile Data, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Camera on a daily basis with no issues at all.

Any of 4.0.3 costume roms has vpn working?
i tried 3 that its not working for me. for example:
Bezke ultraics 2.2 XXLPB
Resurrection Remix ics v9.4 black edition XXLPH 4.0.3
Omega ics latest base from samy
Guys could u also post your quadrant highscores (images appreciated)!!!
CM9 Nightly. best rom I had to use.
I use AndyX ROM 6.0 (based on XXLPH). It works perfectly, meaning no forcecloses and features like wifi, 2G/3G, camera, video etc. are all working.
Plus it has some nice visual additions, such as blue icons in notification bar and a nice shutter-like effect when the screen turns off.
I can only recommend it

Sorry, we don't allow "What's the best ROM" threads in this forum because we get several every single day.
Flash one and try them for yourself and then comment in that ROM's thread about your experience.

Currently running CM12, but I've been thinking between XenonHD, RastaPop, Euphoria OS, Terminus and LiquidSmooth.
Any experience about these ROMs? Most of these seem pretty same if you look at the features. But does some of these stand out?
Just start flashing and find out what you like the best.
sent with my Nexus 4.
As much as I hate CM I quite like the xenon.
Very stable and doesn't require too much micro management.
Well I had to install better battery stats but my battery problems might be down to a dodgy app.
I haven't tried them all but so far my favorite is my setup now...boostpop 2.7 with Franco sabermod kernel, overclocked to 1.7ghz max 192mhz minimum. Rro layers running giving the black look I liked on slimkat. It's as fast as I've ever felt this phone.
I've tried liquidsmooth v4 and a recent paranoid android and cm12 I think. Those are the only recent LP ROMs I've tried.

Frank Rom and Rastapop both great 5'0'2 Roms with all latest optimizations like RRO etc
I've experimented this issue with the galaxy s5 900F (qualcomm) with the latest MM Resurrection Remix and the latest Boeffla Kernel and also with the latest SuperCrazy Kernel. Whatever i do to speed up the phone (oc, ov, gpu oc, governor) the fps doesn't change and the games still stuttering as hell, even games like Bbtan or Stack, 'til unreal engine based games like "brothers". the phone run flawlessly in any scenario, rock stable and without lag or crash at all, so i really can't figure out what is goin' on. i found someone in the thread which have the same issue, but no one has reply with a solution. does anyone know how to figure out?
Well... I had this problem too with boeffla kernel, i fixed it with the boeffla app and changing the governor to something else. But i wanted to have more battery life so i changed it to ondemandplus and -25 undervolt and everything runs smoothly. Also make sure that you have the latest beta (in my case it is 3.2 beta 2) for best results!

i've already did this, there aren't remarkable changes, but thanks too for the beta's advice, i run the latest stable.
however i don't think it depends by the kernel, more by the cm13 nature of this rom
and yet there's no one who complain about that, except us and someone else
it's frustrating 'cause this is a very rock stable cm13 based rom, except this trouble and the camera app, it's way better than TW based rom
It might just be the RR rom that you run... I run the normal cm13 rom with latest beta boeffla kernel and that governor trick and i have no trouble at all so maybe you could try and switch over to cm13 and hopefully that will fix your problem...
Im on latest rr too. With boeffla kernel. I have a lot of lag in games too.
can someone tell if the rom resurrecton remix is the problm?
somewhere, on response to the same trouble, i found this forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775943
for someone it works

no, only cm13 before that but without gaming test
i try the latest boeffla's beta but the situation doesn't change
If you try CM13 or other CM rom, and gaming is working again, please reply here.
EDIT: ITS A CM13 PROBLEM. I INSTALLED SLIM6 AND I HAVE THE SAME LAG. FEELSBAD, BECAUSE THE SYSTEM IS REALLY FAST AND THE GAMES LAGG A LOT.
I'm not too sure where I heard this. Under battery in settings, open battery optimization. Then select the game and hit "don't optimize".
Some games run smooth for me but others liken Real Racing 3 has horrible fps, but after trying that I saw a huge significant increase in performance. This was after adjusting my CPU. Assuming your firmware is anything like CM13.
well still weird that's a cm13 issue because i'm running latest cm13 (10 october) nightly now and with boeffla kernel with my trick, and i have no lag at all

I dont have lagg, idk i think that in browsing and day to day use its better than TW, but in any games or any app that has something like a game laggs like hell.
did you try flashing Adreno 330 gpu drivers for marshmallow?
Just wanted to know.
[S5 SM-G900F]
Which roms are the most stable?
Also which roms offer the most performance or battery life?
What kernels should i use for mm or n?
So far i tried SkiesROM UX v3.1. Which is decent but has some problems. Going to try Resurrection Remix N now.
Thanks.
I'm usig the latest stock:
Debloated, Rooted, Tweaked, Xposed
Working grea,t Stability and batterylife is the greatest.
"Best" is subjective
You'll have to try them out to see what you like the best. Read the threads of each ROM to see what to expect for stability/battery/performance
I am using viper os it's buttery smooth it's on android 7.1.2 and it's blazing fast
Performance?
Any recent AOSP ROM on 7.1.2. RR if I had to pick.
Battery life?
Rooted, debloated, stock Sammy ROM
Stability?
Same as above. Stock ROM.
Kernel?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Included kernel.
just installed latest and its really good (subjective) https://download.lineageos.org/kltedv

ROM? Sammobile (select unbranded firmware).
Root? SuperSU
xposed? Check xposed for Samsung thread
Had my S5 for more than two years, and the circle is closed. Will be running stock with Magisk, Xposed and the Boeffla-kernel for the rest of its remaining life (1-2 years). Most important for me is stability and battery life. I miss the synchronised volume with BT though that LinageOS got.

I'm using

I can make a dump. So you just have to install the rom and the needed apps.
There is no more i can find to optimize.

Im using MM Lite, very fast n heavily debloated...
xposed is working too...
So far so good...
Yes. But it's an old Securitylevelpatch and some useful apps from samsung ain't on board.
Can you please give me suggestion what to do with my Samsung S5? (just root phone and leave stock or install some rom?).
The reason I want to root is that now phone is sometimes slow. I have problems with messenger and whatsap apps for the past 1 year. Also there are some random bugs where phone freeze for several seconds or just restart.
For me, it's most important that phone and internet are stable/no freezing or dropping (I share internet from phone to PC for work). Also, I would like top
not have so many applications.. only those necessary and I will install what I want from google store.

Try crdroid. It's has great battery life, is really fast and no bugs, as far as I know. Been using it for months now.
Using first 6.0.1 stock rom, and all is good.

Old thread but why make a new one for the same question. What's the best performance/battery rom for nougat right now? I'm on KLTE. Tried crDroid then went with stock lineage and I honestly think its crap.

For those who tested stock and custom roms can we know which one is more stable and gives better performance and better screen on time battery life
I am using lineage 15.1 8.1 latest update for 3 days now and it's really good and stable but i still wanna get back to stock with no reason
If you want customization go for a Custom ROM, stock is more reliable, lacks customization but has better SoT. Best Custom ROM for balanced usage (battery/performance) is definitely Liquid Remix with Franco kernel. It also has bunch of customization. Battery life on Liquid Remix is closest to Stock.
Also, if you care about sound quality, Stock is the best choice since Dirac can't be ported to Custom ROMs.
I'm currently using Liquid Remix + Franco Kernel and with my usage i can easily get 7-8 hours of SoT, almost identical as Stock. Tried few other ROMs and none of them achieved SoT as Liquid Remix.

I don't want any customizations i already use magisk and xposed modules + substratum themes on stock room and it did the job great but the only reason to change into lineage is that recently some apps forces stops by itself and google play works 1 hour a day and the rest of the day stops when searching or pressing on any app
Is your advice to clean install latest stock rom for more stability ?
Thanks for your respond

Yeah, flash latest Stock firmware with MiFlash, apps shouldn't force close, maybe substratum theme you're using is causing these issues, atleast that was case for me on Stock ROM, as soon as some app gets updated, it starts force closing until i re-enable substratum overlays.
