Step 1. Flash twrp via odin.
2. Install magisk14. Zip via twrp recovery.
3. Reboot.
4. Go to magisk manager app.
5. Find and grant supersu permission.
6. That's all .
7. You got root on your nougat stock rom.
8. Hit thanks button.
9. Enjoy

Don't need any root file .
Magisk has everything you need.

If you can't mount data and unable to install magisk. Then go to format type yes Angeles then try to install magisk

If you can't mount data and unable to install magisk. Then go to format type yes And then try to install magisk

This what i do
1. Disable auto reboot & flash TWRP
2.Boot to TWRP & format data.
3.Reboot back to TWRP & Install magisk.
*During 1st boot twrp, it wont detect your internal storage. Thats why need to format data. Put necessary magisk file on sdcard.

Xposed
Can we install Xposed Systemless on this as we used Magisk?

You must be in 6.0.1 MM root before nougat 7. Did u download rom as fresh and install via odin over existing 6.0.1 MM installed? or did you try something else to upgrade to nougat 7?

Just do this step:
>Back up all data from internal storage.
>put necessary root file on sdcard.
>Under 6.0.1 you can boot to twrp and wipe all partition (system, data, cache, internal storage)
>then from twrp reboot to download.
>make sure your pc ready to flash new rom and start flashing.
>after flash completed, ignore the setup page, just shutdown phone and enter download mode again.
>flash twrp (disable auto reboot)
>reboot twrp.. format data
>reboot twrp...install magisk
>reboot system
>once complete setup, just grant permission to apps that required root access.

I did download a clean rom using Smart switch and have a copy of it in case something goes wrong.
But now a new problem arises. Magisk module installation errors. I made a clean install and yet i get errors.
Steps I followed....
1. Install TWRP using Odin
2. Make a format data using TWRP ( so clean totally, after having a back up though )
3. Cleared all partitions using TWRP and then using Odin I flashed the new rom file
4. After flashing, without even powering it on, I flashed Magisk also
5. Then when I turned it on, Setup screen turned up and everything was working cool with no errors. But in the mean time I forgot which version I flashed (firmware).
6. Magisk modules cant be installed on my device now. And there is no official support from Xposed as of now for A9 Pro
Anyone else having same problem??
And can I get a serial number and model number as emergency firmware update is not accepting mine.
Other errors on this flash :
1. Call volume full from earphone error. ( Is it me or for everyone? ) [ When earphones are connected, there is no volume from the speaker when a call comes ]
I want to know if this issue is with the samsung phone as I have been reporting this since 6 months to the samsung team.

I try but not success.
Hi Sir, could you please send me a file magisk14.zip. I cannot found a right file, error every time. Could you help me please???

[Simplified] [Root Method] [Titan] [Marshmallow 6.0] Without Modifying boot.img

Guys today I came here with a simplified rooting method for titan running marshmallow 6.0 that doesn't need boot.img modification
Note -You need to have bootloader unlocked and custom recovery like twrp installed on your device before proceeding
Unlock bootloader here
Flash the custom recovery of your choice using auto flash script included in separate attachment
1) Download and rename recovery file as recovery.img and put into the folder of auto flash script.
2) Reboot your device into bootloader mode and connect to PC using USB cable [You shold have latest motorola device manager installed and your device should indicate usb connected on bootloader screen]
3) Now open 'auto flash recovery script' folder and run auto_flash_recovery.bat file
4) Now custom recovery is installed on your device
Steps for rooting-
1. Download BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip and place it in root of your internal sd card (other supersu version does not work on titan running official marshmallow)
2. flash BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip using twrp recovery
3. wipe delvick cache and cache (optional)
4. reboot device
5. If you want to use stable super su version i.e. UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip or any version like any supersu beta except BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3. download and flash it over BETA-SuperSU-v2.62 after rooting.
6. If you have previously rooted your MM running device using SuperSu-v2.52 with modified boot.img, You need to flash stock boot.img first and reboot then follow this guide (step 1-5)
#BETA-SuperSU-v2.62 will do all required modification by its own script automatically.
Note- Dnt flash any other supersu version or SuperSU-v2.65 alone on unrooted device. you will get bootloop. Do a backup of your rom before any rooting operation.
In case if u stuck on bootloop flash this update UnSu script via twrp, wipe delvick and cache and reboot. this script will remove any supersu file installed in your device thus fully unrooting ur device that will recover you from bootloop
Thank you! It's working!
Perfect, It's working!
Working,great

Where can we get the stock boot.img for Marshmallow?
If u r running stock mm, then ur boot.img is also stock.
i think it's not necessary to root again if i already rooted with modified boot image does that make any difference

Failed Root with XT1064 6.0
Everything ran smoothly installing the zip from TWRP, but on reboot: no SuperSU; no root. Now warnings or errors came up in the TWRP text during root.
MotoG 2014 XT1064
System: 24.41.34 titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US retus
Kernel version 3.4.42-gef77327
TWRP-3.0.0-0-titan
Installed zip: BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip
Device is unlocked. Status Code 3
Update to 6.0 was with OTA after flashing the stock rom using XT1064_TITAN_RETUAWS_5.0.2_LXB22.99-24.12_cid9_CFC.xml.
The phone was previously 5.0.2 Rooted.
I did not lock the bootloader during the process.
The OTA to 6.0 went smoothly.
Followed the above instructions to the letter....
The only thing odd I did was uninstall the SuperSU App on the phone before flashing TWRP and starting this Root operation.
Has anyone gotten this to work on XT1064? Or any other root method on stock 6.0 and XT1064

Every time i remove system apps it boot loop any work around for this in marshmallow.. In lollipop removing system apps can normally booted up without any problem..
I successfully rooted my stock marshmallow on XT1068. I had softbricked it previously by using a newer version os SuperSu (I hadn't located this post yet, so I didn't recover from it with you script. I reflashed stock).
So, many many thanks.
In the end, my successful steps were
- flashboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-titan.img
- reboot into recovery
- install BETA-SuperSU-v2.62-3-20151211162651.zip from TWRP
- wipe dalvik & cache
- reboot device

Work thanks
i Tried this on Xt1072 Moto G 2nd Gen 2014 LTE and had to use the UnSu first as per the instructions and for the reasons described in red. I was also stuck in bootloader with that horrible message that says your bootloader is now unlocked! Now the issue is I seem to be stuck on the Motorola hand stitched by peter crawley boot screen? I saw someone aske dhow long this lasts? I had to use an OTG usb flash drive to get my files on to the damn phone for some strange reason phone and pc having massive communication issues, not playing very nicely with each other????? wtf? anyway I got okays and successful messages when in TWRP 2.8.5.0 I just dont understand why there seems to be such a huge problem with getting this f"£$%^&*g phone sorted.
Nexus 5 rooted and flashed with the beautiful elemental x kernel, why cant we get elementalx for moto g? its absolute genius! now someone tel me what the hell is going on here, when will I ever have success with this damn phone? I hate bloat and it only has 8GB plus the sd card which is configured as internal storage, could this be what the problem is?

yes, I tried yesterday and it worked fine.
The most important thing to do here is to make Format Data. If you do not format data, it stays in the bootloop.
I noticed that I can not remove system applications with applications such as Link2sd. Titanium backup works; but sometimes he stayed in the bootloop.
Probably at Nougat, we can not remove system applications nor include updates in the system.
(I'm sorry for my bad english. greetings from Istanbul)

I've tried it in many applications; but it does not remove system applications.(Link2sd, system app remover etc.)
System applications were not deleted when I restarted phone.
Only the Titanium Backup application can delete system applications. Sometimes it's a bootloop (I think it's from me).
I uninstalled the applications manually with Root Explorer.

Here is the procedure to root samsung galaxy j7 (2016) or j710fn oreo update 8.1.0:
step1: download latest twrp
step2: flash the latest twrp using odin( please note that before flashing ensure to uncheck the autoreboot options from the option tab, if you dont do that the custom recovery will overwrite to stock recovery after booting into the ROM and you wont find any custom recovery there.)
step3: after flashing download the latest magisk zip or you can do that by using magisk manager also.
step4: place the latest magisk zip in the sd card or ext. sd card( your choice) and then download the latest magsik-defex zip(link down below) and copy it into the sd card.
step5: shut down and now boot into the recovery by pressing vol-up+home+power
step6: now flash the latest magisk, after that flash magisk-defex zip immediately withouth booting into the ROM.
step7: now boot into the ROM download the magisk manager you should find the magisk latest version installed on the device.

how do you unlock the bootloader
''Thank you for your sharing. I had to flash no-verity-opt-encrypt after flashing Magisk. In TWRP I chose ReadOnly then wiped Cache and Data then flashed the Magisk and right after flashing it without rebooting, I flashed no-verity-opt-encrypt.''
Hi, I am trying to follow exactly the instructions with the latest builds of TWPR and Magisk but after boot to Rom I always receive this nasty message ''Verification failed'' and I have to install again the 8.1 firmware and start from the beginning to no avail. https://cdn-cf-3.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
- SM- J710FN
- firmware: 710FXXU6CSG2_J710FOJV6CSG1_J710FXXU6CSG3_HOME.tar.md5
- Odin3 v3.13.1
- TWRP: twrp-3.2.1-0-j7xelte.img.tar
- Magisk: Magisk-v19.3
- no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.1
I would very much appreciate your ideas...

I patched the boot image using Magisk Manager app and flashed it using Odin. I can't post externals links yet, so PM me if you need help
Thanks @0Dias for the help. I was able to root stock pie with Magisk.
Hi, How did you get to install twrp and also root android 9.0? Would you mind sharing the tutorial you used for doing it?
Steps I took:
Install Pie via Odin
Used Miracle box to remove RMM prenormal ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-rmm-fix-oreo-8-1-oem-unlock-fix-dez-t3877764 ) and flashed TWRP recovery ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...730f-fm-g-gm-x-samsung-galaxy-j7-pro-t3835629 )
Boot to TWRP> select to keep system read only> Wipe>Format Data> Go back and reboot to recovery >
Install no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0 zip file >install RMM bypass zip file ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75514982&postcount=2 ) >
Install magisk zip ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445 ) > install RMM bypass a second time> reboot to system
Thank you @strai

Bootloop after trying to root 9.0.9

So for some reason, my phone decided to install the new OTA update of OxygenOS.
I wanted to reinstall Magisk after flashing TWRP back but when I did so, got stuck in a bootloop.
I managed to get my phone back by re-flashing OnePlus5Oxygen_23_OTA_052_all_1910082005_d4a454d1d3e44852.zip but everytime I try to flash Magisk, I go back on that bootloop.
What should I do ? Do I have to wait for a Magisk Update ?
Thanks
I'm glad u asked this bc my op5 keeps asking me 2 download the latest update. I want it but u don't wanna use ADB again. So how I avoid the problem above and update and keep root?

What is you current twrp recovery (file name)?
What is your current Rom(file name)?
What is your magisk version?
Is your storage encryped or decrypted?
What installation steps did you followed?
My oneplus 5 had a similar problem during the flash of Android 9, to fix this issue make sure that you are installing the full zip of the rom, and make sure to remove Magisk with its uninstaller before flashing the rom.
Right after the flash in the recovery it's possible to reinstall the latest version of Magisk stable. Keep in mind that without hte isntallation of Magisk you will lose the custom recovery, because the phone restore automatically its original recovery, so it's better if you flash it right after the installation of the full zip.

Current TWRP : twrp-3.3.1-0-cheeseburger.img (but I have to flash it back every time I go to recovery)
Current ROM : OnePlus5Oxygen_23_OTA_052_all_1910082005_d4a454d1d 3e44852.zip
Current Magisk : None, trying to flash 20.1 (20100) ; Magisk manager 7.4.0 (253)
I think my storage is encrypted
Installation steps :
- My phone made an OTA update
- I lost root
- Downloaded Magisk 20.0 from the Magisk Manager
- I flashed TWRP twrp-3.3.1-0-cheeseburger.img via fastboot
- Flashed Magisk 20.0
- Wiped Cache/Dalvik
- Reboot
- Phone automatically turns off and opens Recovery
- Lost my TWRP, had to flash it again
- Flashed the latest OOS img found here : https://www.oneplus.com/fr/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=5
- Could turn on my phone
- Realized there's an new 20.1 Magisk version
- Tried to flash it, it failed again, flashed OOS back.

Magisk 20 is known to have issues on pie. Also you have official twrp which has also sometimes problems.
And as mentioned already: missing to uninstall magisk can also lead to boot loops.
Recommend instructions are within the stable rom thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...xygenos-4-5-2-7-1-1-ota-t3627003/post72799040
I would try magisk uninstaller and then msgidj 19.3 in your situation as twrp won't stick without magisk.
Watch out for errors within twrp log.
Solved by running the uninstaller and reinstalling Magisk, thanks
I try everything, Try to Wipe System, Dalvnik, cache, and install latest Stable Rom, also before that I uninstall Magisk. And still BOOT loop, try also to flash form SIDELOADbut still BOOT loop.
also follow this:
Recommend instructions are within the stable rom thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/one...3/post72799040
I didnt try Clean Flash, because I have so much thigs for my job, and I can't delete it.
Can you help me to sole this problem?

And you already followed the tips with magisk uninstaller and lower magisk version as above?
You didn't mention if your storage is encrypted or not?
The link from you to the instructions is broken.
