Hi Folks,
Seeing around various section of all the models when users are struggling to restore their phone either due the flashing an incorrect firmware or after updating via Firmware Finder app and then wanting to rollback to earlier version of EMUI. They sometime cannot even flash the custom ROMs due to FRP lock or unable to flash the custom recovery and even after trying all the known methods, we struggle to restore their phone as they messed up badly with their phone and model or version change to something unexpected.
In this thread, lets discuss and share about rollback files available for various models (be it MM, Lollipop anything) so that new users could use it to restore to their original version and then update to official versions.

You may find one in my signature for downgrade of 5X. Process is same but just a change of files.
Hi. Do these files restore absolutely everything? I've got a dodgy file in /system/lib64 and don't know if a dload flash will fix it. Would an ota package do it? I don't really want to have to wipe everything.

This rollback package will just creat a platform for rollback. Post this, you need to flash the MM based rom for your model via dload.

Hi, this is a Honor 5c forum. The best place to look is the Honor 6x forum.

(I'm new to this) So, I bought a P8Lite, and I have no problems with it, but it comes with Android 5.1. I'm in Greece and everywhere in this forum and elsewhere people seem to have at least Android 6, EMUI 4.x and hoping for Nougat.
I have not gotten any Marshmallow update, and on Huawei's official firmware site, checking for the ALE-L21, the closest thing to Marshmallow is a rollback package to Android 5.
What should I do?
Thanks
what is your build number? Since you're on Greece, you must have ALE-L21c432bxxx. If the value of xxx equals to 170 or 188 then you are eligible to get Marshmallow update. If, by any chance you're not getting it and you're already above b170 then i request you to follow this link

It's been a while, but yeah, I downloaded b170 from the site and tried local update with its update.app. I get "Software install failed". What should I do? Should I try flashing b560 or something? The mega thread says I should have b170 and above (204 > 170)

you can't install MM from a certain LP builds.
for example B186 doesen't get MM
I'll make it easier for u.
unlock your bootloader, download the MM latest firmware (update.app)
extract the system.img, boot.img, cust.img, and recovery.img.
flash it via fastboot (i.e "fastboot flash system system.img e.t.c)
and DONE! your p8 lite has MM

You should only apply updates with the same Cxxx as yours.I thought that you have C432 from the other guy's post so I'm sorry.
And I've found B210 with C469 so you can update to this first with extracting the recovery from it with Huawei Update Extractor and flashing via fastboot and then updating via dload but i don't know if there's EMUI 4.0 for C469.

Hi,
What happens if you update with the wrong Cxxx?
I just got a used p8 that's got GRA-L09C02B191 on it. I'd like to update it to Android6 before starting to screw around with custom ROMs. I've got FirmwareFinder running, and it's already found 200+ options, none of which appears to be C02, despite that being my range setting. Is my model unupdateable?
TIA!

Thanks for the lightning fast reply!
That's not so bad, I don't care about themes, don't use Android Pay, and doing the updates manually isn't a huge pain. Is there anything else that I lose? Presumably I'll be able to roll back to gra-l09c02b191 to restore full functionality?
So can I then just go directly for the latest firmware, which I guess is B370?
Thanks!

Did you ever try to debrand your phone?
Anyway, try FirmwareFinder from the play store to find the firmware. Be careful which update you install, because you might install a broken one (that is what I and a lot of other people did though)

I don't have the chinese version, but you have to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP, then you'll be able to install the stock ROM. Try to use bkores's axon7toolkit
Also try searching for this (in Q&A), I'm 100% sure this has been asked at least twice before. You could've gotten an answer much sooner if you had tried to find an old post that asks the same

Just update to B13, it doesn't matter if the latest OTA doesn't appear, you'll probably need to install more than one OTA. Also, if you'll do it this way don't unlock the phone until you get the latest version.

You can use a flashable system zip and use it on TWRP, I think DrakenFX made some for the A2017. Otherwise you need to flash the a2017 stock recovery on it (with a flashable zip like tron1's or drakenfx's) and then use the update feature on the phone.

There was a 2.8Gb file which I was never able to download which might contained more rollback packages
Thanks to @LastStandingDroid for sharing this link. Though this file is of 6 GB so seems all of the files are in same zip but we have a backup atleast.

Thanks for clarifying mate
Hi, guys.
One question: I got Honor 8 pro, and I want to unlock the bootloader and have root.
Now, in worst case scenario, if I need to go back and flash stock firmware with dload method, is "update-eu-rb.zip" the file I need?
Thank you so much.
