Pretty much what's in the title. I can't install modules, and I'm pretty sure they get downloaded, but I get the same error when I only touch on the download button.
Is this known somehow?
Create a folder on internal storage named MagiskManager. See if that works for you.

Lol yeah, thanks! I guess @topjohnwu knows about this?
I'm not sure, brother. I haven't reported it.
Had just the same Issue on my LG G4, creating the Folder manually fixed it.. thx
I created the Folder in the root of the Probe manualy but it wont work. Any other solution ?
Edit: I got it Wirkung. If you use a SD Card as main installation Location, you have to create the MagiskManager Folder in the SD root.
I had the same issue. I created magiskmanager forder manually but it didnt worked for me. cuz it gets deleted automatically. so I tried other way. in maiskmanager I selected install option and selected download zip only option and magiskmanager folder created automatically. now it works fine.

So i've been looking all over the development forum.. and i can't find any instructions to install a rom, the only so-called instructions i found was "Use xRecovery" herp derp.. =/
I have the "2.3.2 CM Legend 31 v0.3" one
I have everything working, Root explorer.. xrecovery.. BusyBox
absolutely everything, i tried extracting the cm7-0.3.rar and compressing it into an update.zip for it to work on xRecovery, but it still wont work.
The files inside the rom are: system.img, cache.img, data.img, nandroid.md5.
This is what it shows when i try to install it
-- Install from SD card...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing Update...
And then it quickly closes and goes back to the main menu..
Any help would be appreciated.

you need to follow these instructions-
1. Extract the downloaded ROM.
2. Ensure there are 4 files in a folder(name it as you wish, or you can simply take the extracted folder!).
3. Make a folder in your SD card with name "xrecovery"(without quotes)
4. Make a sub-folder "backup"(without quotes)
5. Place the folder in the backup folder( /sdcard/xrecovery/backup)
6. Boot into xRecovery.
7. Goto Backup and Restore.
8. Goto Restore.
9. There you will see your folder name.
10. Just select and press Yes.
Done!
Cheers!

I assume im going to need to put my official ROM on the SD card again with a memory reader?
EDIT: Disregard that.. used flashtool to go back to 1.6, no problems now.
i installed 2.3.2 CM Legend 31 v0.3 and it works ok for me.
after a while, it says "Login to Google Talk failed, check if you have chat
available"
i know this is not the problem of this rom.
i google the message, and find other roms may have the same problem.
but this message is annoying.
dose anyone know the solution??
thank you for my bad english.
Need some help here:
I need to delete some of the backups I made with CWM recovery. I already have them backed up onto my PC, but need to delete them to make some room. For some reason I cant.
Ive tried root explorer, es file explorer, and my PC. Im unable to change the permissions of the files, and if you look at the pics I attached youll see they have some strange permissions, but I cant change them.
I am able to move the files anywhere else in the sd card folder, rename them, but no matter what I cant delete them. And when I try from my PC it shows them disappear, but they are actually still there.
If there is a way to format the sd card folder I will, but thats not an option in the settings, or CWM. Can someone please help me out here? This is really frustrating me. Thanks

Same, tried with multiple apps too.
I posted this in the other thread, but figured I would do so here in case other people needed the "fix".
Ok, so some good news and some bad news.
The good news is, I was able to put together a flashable zip that WILL DELETE the entire CWM backup directory from the sdcard. It is available here:
http://core.routed.com/CWM_Backup_Wipe.zip
You simply need to flash it via CWM. Easy peasy. I confirmed that the directory/files were all removed, AND the storage space is now available for other files (I checked df before and after).
The bad news is, before attempting to delete the directory, I first tried changing the permissions (recursively) to see if that was a better "fix" for this problem. Unfortunately, even with the directory 777 and the files 666, I still could not manually delete them through the system. Which means, whatever bug is causing this problem is much more severe than a file/directory permission thing.
In any case, until the CWM developer can figure out a way to fix this bug, at least we have a way to manually remove the backups and get our storage space back.
The script in the zip is very simple. It just does a recursive delete on /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup.
Enjoy!

Just saying thanks for this, I hope they figure a fix out soon. Flash worked perfectly, for some storage space back. :good:
i transferred a folder via adb to an empty 'sdcard' and while i can still write to it, i cannot delete anything. i have looked at permissions and all seems fine, but its not letting me.

There's something in TWRP to delete files. I was unable to delete a clockworkmod file through the PC or file explorer, but the TWRP thing worked. Also, I noticed when you add or delete files (mostly delete), it doesn't show up until after a reboot.
Hi all,
I can't seem to get my obb folder to behave. After installing anything which makes a file inside it, the folder changes to a file inside any file manager including with root access.
In twrp it shows as a normal folder and can be deleted or edited, but once back in android, it reverts to this weird uneditable file...
Any clues? I can't (or rather won't) format internal storage as I don't have a micro SD and currently have lots of files in my root folder which I need in case of emergency (i.e. my twrp backups and some downloaded . zip files).
Any help would be appreciated! It's not an emergency I'm just trying to get a game working. Oh also, if it helps, when I try to download the game after folder has gone weird, play store gets to 99% then fails with error 0 every time.

You simply need to delete the obb folder from TWRP file manager.
If no success, connect your phone to pc and delete ithe folder from there. (or use some force delete software for your platform)

Hi,
I'm also facing same issue, did you find any solution ?
Please help me too..
Don't know if this means anything but if I go into file manager after a reboot it's fine for a minute or two then goes back to being weird. Can't put my finger on what causes it. I've uninstalled magisk, clean flashed my ROM, only thing left to do is format internal storage but can't do that until I get an SD card for my ROM files and backups to go on.

I also had the same issue with pixel experience rom. My Suggestion is to install a nougat based custom rom until someone finds a solution for that.

Thanks but that's not really a solution I want when it worked fine on previous builds.
Wow... You'll never guess...the issue is present in nougat ROMs too...
*facepalm*
i also faced the above problem in almost every oreo rom. But in the below rom it is normal.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/development/rom-cosmic-os-v3-1-universe-t3730547. i am using this rom as daily driver.
Hi All,
I deleted obb folder from going into root >> data >> media >> obb
Choose file manager like es file explorer or Aroma file manager.
But this is temporary solution not permanent after some time same issue will occur again.
Kindly follow this thread to solve obb data lost on Oreo custom Rom.

Thank you so much!! I don't have an SD card at the moment, however, but happy to know a solution. Does anyone know the cause??
Is there a solution for this without SD card??
EDIT: I've noticed something. The issue described in this thread seems only to happen after connecting to WiFi and downloading apps from the play store. It doesn't seem to happen before I will do that. Hope it helps.

My theory says obb folder turns into file cause system link from data/media/obb should be revoked but I'm not smart enough to know how to create system links
I noticed that when I install the pubg mobile game manually I do not lose the obb folder, just like the friend mentioned above only occurs when the game is installed directly from the play store
For those who don't have rooted devices use this method until we get a fix
Hey guys, just got my 8 Pro today, patched image and installed root
and confirmed root is working. downloaded oxygen 11 to download folder
and downloaded root explorer and gave it root permission. When I try to move the Oxygen 11 file to root

I hit yes but then I get copy failed.
Any advice?
Thank you!

Depending on the folder you may not be able to modify system files..
Another chap was trying to edit a file in system, I don't believe you can do this with a conventional root explorer anymore. Should be able to copy it but changing that part of the system is not allowed.
You could make s magisk module to edit something, that should work.

You mean in the folder called sdcard.
That's where its meant to be..
You do not need to be rooted to install from local storage infact is best if you aren't.

As @ShayMagen1 has said, it's more than likely borked.
Also are you rooted??
I have a guide you can follow in the guides section.
Sounds like your trying to put it in a System folder? You should Move the downloaded file to your Internal Storage (root directory)...
