Substratum - Status bar - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a rooted Nexus 6p with Android Oreo. I have installed Substratum and a free theme for testing. I noticed that the status bar is not visible. More precisely, it is only visible when I open any application, but it is not visible when I'm on any desktop page.
I uninstalled Substratum but the problem is not resolved.
Also, if I open the Nova Launcher settings, I find it or the black page background and the text is therefore unreadable.
How can I fix and restore the original default situation?
Thanks.

You have to restore or uninstall your theme overlays with the substratum app.

If you go into Substratum Forums they advised you not to theme status bar and if possible quick settings tile until devs sort it out.

Notification bar oddity

Hey folks
I installed Nova Launcher and noticed the notification bar looked a bit strange. Figure that it was that the background was black, so I set it to be transparent. This was fine on the homescreen, however then I could see my wallpaper when in menus etc on the notification bar.
Does anyone know of a launcher that functions like TW? Specifically transparent only when at the homescreen?

Any way of getting transparent status bar back without using stock launcher?

That is the one thing I would like. I currently have NOVA launcher. I like it because you can theme the icons and such but now I have the black status bar and black navi bar as well. In the stock launcher there is an option to make them both transparent. What am I missing?

I'm wondering the same thing. I've gone back to LG's launcher for this reason. Hopefully the ROM gods will add this as an option to add on.
I was going to come post the same thing. I just applied auto-hide soft keys and was wondering if this was an option. Using Nova and I pinch to bring the status bar and knock on to sleep on the status bar as well.
Love this phone by the way - obligatory

ROM with Black Theme and option to hide Navigation buttons?

I'm looking for a ROM that has a true black theme system wide and the option to hide navigation buttons. Also would like it to be pretty much 100% stock Android or close to it.
Thanks!
Its not technically what you asked for, but I black out my UI with a RRO theme (which stock MM supports) and hide my nav buttons with xposed.
I use Pure Nexus ROM for this. It supports Substratum to black out the entire UI and Google apps. You will still have to flash the blacked out google apps but the only problem I had when I didn't flash them was with YouTube app. Some of the text wasn't readable. You can also hide the Nav bar with it.
Dirty Unicorns, Xposed, and Blue Hydra theme.

Question about notification panel color...

Since getting the Pie update I have a single app called Transparent weather and clock, that when receiving an alert in the notification panel it shows a white panel and not black like the rest of my apps. Devs try telling me to look at my system settings or launcher settings, but am I crazy to thing... that if before the Pie update all my apps including the weather app were showing black notification panels and now after the update the only app to not be showing black is the weather app... then it must be the weather app with the issue? The only thing that's changed is that I needed a new theme since my old one wasn't working with Pie.

Systemui notification pulldown color seems not right.

Hi all. I'm having this problem since the first pie update. The systemui notification pulldown text color seems to be wrong in all dark themes. I already updated the themes with latest version for pie.
The problem also happened to navigation bar when I use dark theme in some system apps. Any clue why is this happening? What should I do?
See attachment for better understanding. Check the whatsapp notification text color. Some of the text are black on dark grey. Annoying.
Thanks!
