Saw a galaxy s7 edge sm-g935 version on eBay and wondered if that was the smarter version to buy on account of battery and roms available. Is that the Snapdragon variant or the exynos variant?

Hello guys i just ordered the 7 edge from amazon, i'm in europe so i guess i'll be getting the exynos version, i was wondering, are the roms the same for both SD and Exynos? or are there roms that only work in sd or exynos? I tried to search but seems that both are 935F instead of my S5 (900f for Snapdragon and 900h for exynos).
One more question, will my warranty be voided if i unlock bootloader? I read a lot of stuff that amazon won't care and that they don't even check it.
And finally, i'm pretty excited, i come from a OnePlus 3, while i liked it for it's fluidity and speed, i had some troubles with it's screen and i need a solid phone since i'm going to a cold country (s7 is nice for the water proof and humidity), i got it for 570€ new, so i guess it was a good deal (32gb version ofc)
Thanks
Hi,
Yes there are different ROMs for different processors, some ROMs may support both Exynos and Snapdragon, however don't take that for granted. I'm not following S7/E development, but back in S4 days the Snapdragon version had more ROMs than the Exynos version.
The 935F model number is the international Exynos S7 Edge, AFAIK the unlocked S7 Edge with Snapdragon variant has 935U as model number.
All the best,

Samsung Exynos 8890 Models (from wikipedia):
>SM-G935F (International Single Sim, Malaysia)
>SM-G935FD (International Dual Sim, Malaysia)
>SM-G935W8 (Canada)
>SM-G935S (South Korea SK Telecom)
>SM-G935K (South Korea KT)
>SM-G935L (South Korea LG U+)
(I'm going to assume that this is the complete list of all S7 Edge models with the Exynos octa-core, please let comment if you know of any other models)
The SM-G935F and SM-G935FD models appear to be the most common ones that I see in the rooting threads. If someone could elaborate the differences between the models listed above it would be greatly appreciated.
I live the the U.S. and I would like to get a hold of the best "Titanium Silver" S7 Edge that can be fully rooted. I eliminated all the ones with the Snapdragon 820 processor already since they have locked boot-loaders. I am not very savvy with Amazon and Ebay; After looking at some of the reviews on Amazon I'm worried that I will end up with a broken or fake S7 Edge, it seems that there are a lot of legit ones that have display issues and are sold as new devices. Iv'e also noticed that some models have "Galaxy S7 Edge" printed on the back of the phone while the rest do not, if possible I would like a version without that. There is also this rare 64gb that I'm curious about.
If you have an Exynos S7 Edge, where exactly did you purchase it from and how well does it work in the U.S.?
How do you make sure you are getting a legit new phone and not a scam?
What is the best model for rooting, custom roms, etc.
The F and FD are basically the same thing except the FD is dual sim.

Model number on the back is Snapdragon version.
You should be very careful about frequencies. Check the ones for your provider because you can easily end up with phone that can get only 3g. Check the frequencies for international model(935F) and compare with your provider.
That's the most important thing to do. The rest is a matter of personal preferences.
Hello
Or could buy a Samsung Galaxy S8 in the unlocked international version (Exynos 8895).
The versions sold at the moment in pre-order in the different operators would they work in europe (Snapdragon 835)?
I am for a few months in the united states and I would like to take advantage to buy it. It's hard for me to wait hhhhiiihhhh
Thank you to those who will answer me well
So months later, what's the consensus on North American vs international Galaxy S8? When the s7edge launched, the clear winner was the exynos and that's the version I got even though I'm in NA. but with the S8 I've been looking some bench marks and they seem pretty close I can't figure out which is better. The only thing I know is that right now the US version is $100 cheaper than international exynos. $574 on Amazon instead of ~$670 for the international. Thoughts ?
If you value roms and root then the international is the way to go, although the us one has root just not twrp, if you care about that then get the cheaper one.
I have to agree with peachpuff here, if you plan on using custom roms and kernels then the international version is the way to go.
i intend to do a display swap on my g935fd exynos duos device. I saw that it was cheaper for me to buy g9350 snapdragon duos displays with frame from china ( from reputable sellers). I wonder if the exynos board can fit in the snpdragon frame. Please do not question my decision to source a display from china. Your help is appreciated. Thanks!
