AOSP/LOS kernels for the G model. - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Howdy all. In a thread elsewhere someone with the G model of the Axon 7 is looking for a kernel to help with battery life. He's using Resurrection Remix.
Any recommendations? I'm on the U model and currently don't mess with kernels much lately (Llama Sweet was the last one). I normally just stick with a ROM's kernel so haven't messed with the likes of HELLSGATE or CAK.
Thanks.

Custom Rom recommendations

Hello everyone,
I recently rooted my LG G2, and would like to install a custom rom on it. I have been overwhelmed with the number of the roms that i have found for the G2. Some well known roms such as CM11 and Paranoid Android, and many others. I wanted to ask for recommendations on which roms to install, and whether it's best to install an AOSP based rom or stick with a stock based rom such as Cloudyflex or the Optimus rom. I'd appreciate any help or if someone could point out the feautures and benefits of each rom. Sorry if it's a noobish question
I've tried many, both stock based and AOSP. I've decided to stick with Pardus. It's very stable and battery life is great.
Cm 11 just right from cyanogenmod site for aosp or cloudy g3 get my vote.
Dormanx kernel is good on g2 based Roma with 2.8 ghz overclock, haven't tried it on g3 Rom yet.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Free mobile app
Try cloudyg3 rom.. Amazing UI like g3
All apps ported from it
Amazing battery life =)
Thank you guys for your replies. I tried CM11 but would also like to try cloudyflex 2.4. It says that If I used an Aosp based rom, that I should install the KK baseband, but I don't know which baseband to use? I'm using the d802 G2 but there are multiple basebands for the d802. Does anyone know which one I should choose?

I have a d802 model and I've been using CM11 M7 no problems without flashing any different baseband

does AK kernal work on CM 13.0?

i am using OP2 with CM13 does AK kernal work in CM13 ? will it increase battery life?
I'm 99.9% sure it won't, it was made for OOS, up to 2.1.2.
Your best bet for CM13 as of now would probably be @benschhold 's kernel, it's in the Android Development section on this sub

Hello World!

Hi, I'm a bit new around here and I'd have a few quick questions.
I want to see what a few custom ROMs have to offer and I have a few spare phones to play around with.
LG G2 mini
LG G2
LG G3
Which of these should I mess with? The mini seems the most expendable and is in factory fresh condition while the other two are all set up and in use. Also I know about roughly only cryanogenmod, any other stuff I should look into?
Hi
For the G2 i know these ROMs that are most popular:
Resurrection Remix ROM - here (6.0.1) or here (5.1.1)
Cloudy G2 3.3 - here (5.0.2) > STOCK based rom (lollipop)
BlissRom 6.4 -here (6.0.1)>Cm13 based
Dirty Unicorns - here (6.0.1)
All are trying to make your phone more customizable ,faster and stable ...try them and see which one do you prefer.
Ps.. sory for my bad english
Take the G2 to play with. Here are all ROMs.
And check out the many Mods, Kernels, Guides right here.

Which ROM are you using?

I am trying to decide which ROM is the most future packed ROM for our Moto G4 Plus. So tell me which ROM you are using in the poll. :good:
If you want feature rich ROM
Try resurrection remix
But if you want stability try cm 13 / orion / beanstalk
Note : this is my personal opinion !
I'm on soak test Nougat... but soon I'll be flashing CM14, no doubt!
After trying several different custom ROMs I went back to rooted stock Marshmallow with ElementalX kernel. Seems to be the most stable, and smoothest . Not to mention the best battery life of all that I have tried. I have an XT 1625.

Best Oreo ROM and kernel ?

There are many Oreo ROMs but which you guys this is the best ? Also suggest them and the kernel you're using for next battery life....
Stock feel with pixel accents is the first priority
Resurrection Remix 6.0.0 [8.1.0] + Magisk 15.3 with stock kernel (I can't seem to flash a kernel on my OnePlus 5 because when I do it bootloops) is what I'm using as a daily driver (it's very stable and customizable). If you can flash a kernel, I was always happy with Elemental X on my LG Nexus 5 (which died unfortunately, power button broke so bootloops all the time).
Beware, you need to upgrade your firmware if you are coming from Nougat. And you need to flash the unofficial 8.1 opengapps (opengapps doesn't support android 8.1 as of yet). You find the links and instructions on the Resurrection Remix ROM page.
Edit : Also make sure that you have the latest TWRP (3.2.1-0). TWRP 3.1.1-0 may not support all if any Oreo ROMS.
