I want to buy MI A1 but I love MIUI, so how can I flash MIUI 9, will I get future updates from MIUI after flashing? Do we have to root the device? Mi 5x is not available in India otherwise I would have bought Mi 5x.

They give us plenty of options, for example if you want to have stock android or miui on the same device then you should have got Mi5X instead.

@ The people who always say that you should've bought the 5X if you wanted MIUI, since the hardware is the same.
There is a reason why some have bought the A1. One of the reason is that the A1 has different 4g Bands. So the 5X will not have 4g internet for those people.

In many cases, the 5X is not available in markets where the A1 is. Believe me, if the people who got the A1 and want MIUI could have bought the 5X, they would have. Stop judging them.

Lol, I'm not judging, and if the people want 5X and it's not available in their markets they can always buy it online where is available. I almost bought 5X before A1 was released and it's not available in my market.

Looks to be correct. Unsure on global ROM but the 8.2 China stable does list mi mix...But it's not up yet. Fingers crossed it is 7.0
Updated to 8.2.2
Still Android version 6.0 which is disappointing. The change is nice however. The first few boots have some issue like slow down but it is fixed now.

Fastest way is look into the settings and choose a language. When inside there is more then English and Chinese then its global. ^^
I think u are not able to make a nandroid backup and upload it? Can't find anywhere the update.

You're totally right. Global Stable 8.2 ist definately coming for our beloved Mi Mix very soon.
Its listed in the official forum under devices which are receiving the Global version in the coming 2 weeks rollout
and since the device was launched in Dubai 1 or 2 nights ago we will definately get the taste of Global rom very soon i guess
Yay even more useless features which nobody uses more than 2 times, just so they can say "we update a lot".

I searched in this forum and haven't seen anyone create such topic which surprised me.. is there anything wrong - as to why the development of Miui 9 for the Redmi 4 Prime (HM4Pro) hasn't started yet? More so, I see Redmi 4X receiving the Miui 9 update. Whats keeping the Hm4 pro miui 9 update?
The china dev should be released in late September or later. The important thing would be to have it based on nougat or it wouldn't be so useful.

Attached is an example of the bug, look at the bottom. And like 2mm of the screen at the bottom became black and 1mm on sides and top

It doesn't have most tentative functions of miui9 yet. So, I'd recommend you to stay on RR for a while. And yes, I'm running miui9 7.8.28 now.

What bugs does 8.1 fix from 8.0? Don't confuse additional features with bugs. A missing feature is also not a bug, in programming terms.

As far as I know, Mi has announced that it would give two major version updates to Mi A1. Now that we have oreo, we may get android P also as per announcement.
And being android one, we keep getting other updates regularly.

Yepp, go for aicp set animation speed to 0,3 in dev option and enjoy your a1, it's a hell of a beast rom, no lags, even without build.prop tuning.

So far ok but for the RN3 are the Pxel Expierence aviable with Android 8.1.

Making Mi A1 project treble compatible means re-partitioning the device. That will result in a full format of user's data. Therefore they will never try to give an update that formats our data completely. There's also a possibility of bricking the device.
