Manage root permissions in Permissions manager, you need to enable so that applications can ask for root access and you can deny/allow based on your preferences.​

I'm not able to install CWM using the file posted in the link, either through mobile uncle tools or through sp flash tool... Mobile uncle tools is not recognising the CWM img and sp flash tools is giving me md5 error. So, if you can help me with this, I can install cwm and try this ROM, since I'm eargerly waiting to test and use your rom.
Also,please provide the link for ROM download... I have already downloaded this from MIUI India forum.. is that the same ROM you have released here?

No this is different ROM from that MIUI ROM,
This is complete ROM working fine.
if you have sp flash tool i will guide you to root and install CWM, considering you must be on 4.3 if not please use spflashtool for this.
Also install MTKtools which is very easy method to install CWM. Please PM me & I will tell

this is based on 4.2.2
check and report for bugs, so far no bugs observed except mention in OP.

about miui performance
thanks to sandip for this awsome rom but still many improvement needed the rom is bit slow and the ram management is very bad also cant move apps to sd card like kitkat battery drain very fast and stand time is also very bad i charged 90 at night and thge morning the bateery in idle remaining is 59% please fix the bug and also the cpu usage is up to 45% in idle position thats why rom not smooth

Is your flashlight torch is extremely low? & Dual mic noise cancellation sittings under settings/sound/system, is missing,update with better ram management and delete some extra apps from rom

but i cannot update or download apps from play store

For those who wants to try out the new MIUI 9 Beta/Alpha roms.
These are Chinese rom. so there will be no Gapps and Google services. some Chinese bloatware installed.
if you want the gapps, flash opengapps pico via TWRP.

1. after flashing from Fastboot you'll have to install TWRP recovery again.

Beta 9 flashed fine, su fine, viper4audio fine, tried flash xposed-xposedSDK24 by PurifyOS (don't work but it's optionally for me)
BUT i got bigger problem with google play - first tried package that worked on MIUI 8 (don't work), then installed OpenGappsPico (don't work too), tried with this google installer apk shared in first post but i cant install play services - system says "can't downgrade[...]"
System works stable but I faced issues with google apps - many FC's I got, then I switched off FC's in dev settings.
Google play issues may be caused becouse i flashed rom with MiFlash 'save user data' chosen option.
I'll watch if clean install 'll help but don't have free time now.

you can't keep data while coming from MIUI8. it will cause issues.

Hey man !
I hat this as well ... But I didnt flash any gapps. Miui recovered all my gapps after booting up ! I just uninstall ALL google related stuff via the "system apps" in the settings menu. After this I could install the google installer (see op !) and all went fine

The ROM is Not Made by Me all credit go to it's original Dev XN Logos
Customization Not applicable on System ui and setting due to cross UI. only applicable with Core apps. Means if you are with ZEN UI you can Customize all ZENUI app.

You can Download Gapps package From here this is a beta version for oreo it has some bug-

I personally haven't tried the rom yet so I don't know what it beholds. I'm not the developer, so no use complaining here. I'm merely sharing.
I found certain changelogs and test comments (Google Translated from Chinese) :-

Considerations on the rom: its pretty stable, i flashed unofficial oreo opengapps and magisk 13.3 (i dont like 14.0) and only the camera doesnt work. However u should install some kernel manager and be sure to set all governors on interactive. The original launcher and some stock apps are vanilla android so they're very old but its pretty easy to install pixel launcher etc.
Btw i used the device with wifi only so i cant report on calls and so on since this is not my main device.

I don't think so. The point of such alpha & beta releases is not to be a daily driver with all features working but just to check system stability in a bunch of phones.

This is a dotOS port from the Galaxy J3 2016 (made by @lucas000br) to the J2 2016.
Working: ​
My (basic) testings all seemed to work quite well
Added features and patched bugs:​
Patched lock button in boot.img
Pre-rooted the ROM
Added FM-Radio from ViperOS (microG variant only)
Optimized features
Signature spoofing patched on microG variant

Known problems:​
Gapps variant is laggy (nothing I can do - Google sucks)
Your J2 shows up as a J3 (it's a port that's why)

Variant information (Which one is which?)​
GAPPS: This one has most of the stock Google apps (Drive, YouTube, etc) + GSF present. Recommend for most users. RAM usage 640mb on idle
microG: All Google apps have been replaced with FOSS software. Google Services Framework has been replaced with microG. Signature spoofing is also present. RAM usage 560mb on idle
DIY: Want to build your own ROM? This one's for you! Everything except the bare minimum has been stripped out, so that you can decide what to pick for your ROM. (For power users only).
Stock dotOS: The stock dotOS compiled by PixelBoot for J3 2016; with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Signature spoofing and Power Button patched. Most stable out of all. You will need to flash additional GAPPS to get Google Services. RAM Usage 500mb.

Installation Instructions:​[If you don't have TWRP, get an image and install it from here]
GAPPS:
Boot to TWRP
[Do make sure to backup your data]
Wipe Dalvik, Data, System, Cache
Flash the ROM
Reboot. Done!
microG:
Boot to TWRP
[Do make sure to backup your data]
Wipe Dalvik, Data, System, Cache
Flash the ROM
After rebooting, open microG settings.
Go to self-check and tick the check boxes that are unticked (that will initialize microG)
Go back, and enable Device Registration, Cloud Messaging and Device Attestation
Then go to Location backends, and configure the DejaVu and Nominatim backends.
Done!
DIY and Stock dotOS will be the same as GAPPS variant

i have flashed stock rom provided by u of dot os but my phone stuck at samsung logo pls look into it .....i am sure i have flashed it n follow all steps correctly

btw i don't have stock rom installed before i flash it......I am on viper os....then i boot to twrp wipe sytem cache data n flash your provided dot os stock rom then i reboot but stuck at Samsung logo

@Uniqueshiva thank you for the information. I had made a typo in the updater script that caused the boot image to fail.
Please download the new ROM and flash it. I've confirmed it to work

thx for responding so fast btw i will try it tomorrow as my data got finished today sorry for it...i will surely give feedback
edit- I tried stock dos os rom n flash arm 7.1 Pico gapps...boot animation appears but after sometimes black-brown screen appears after 5 min phone started but its written setup wizard failed i am not able to go ahead as setup wizard failed written every time so i turn off the phone maybe it can be the gapps problem now i will try dot os magisk gapps version provided by u btw i am curious that what is DIY dot os u give is all bugs fixed in it just asking..

hmm it could be flashing gapps causes problem with the rom...
yes try the gapps version i provided
the diy one is mainly for rom porters. it has many features removed so that rom porters can think about what features to add in the rom
only basic feature available in rom is phone and messaging support

I can't access internal storage after flashing. Stock file manager crashes if i open it. Stock browser says "no sd card, usb storage is required to download the file". There's no internal storage even after connecting the phone to pc. It only shows memory card.
Edit: Just wiped the internal storage and re-flashed it. Works fine now

there's a theming option in settings > display > scroll to the end
from there figure out what to do (I've confirmed its working)

I know, viperOS was much more stable because I took 1 entire year to port and test the rom (i started testing January 2020 )
however, dotOS was ported in only 1 month
so it is not as polished
but im glad you liked it

Note: You might've noticed how I didn't put [PORT] in the thread title. It is mainly because this ROM varies from J3's dotOS so much, I don't think it is fair to call this one a port.

Hey.
I am using this ROM since 6th May (stock variant) and it is very great but has lots of bugs.
1. Bluetooth Audio stutters really bad (problem in every Android N rom for this phone)
2. Google Meet doesn't work (just shows the logo and then crashes) I am using Open GAPPS
3. Many system app crash randomly (sometimes even the launcher and system ui) requiring me to take out the battery and restarting the phone.
4. Camera quality is significantly bad compared to stock 6.0
But still a great project.

Omg 1 year......that's y it feels so smooth in viper os i get nearly 900 mb free ram with gapps again thanks for your hardwork.....I know that u may be bored now for working on j210f that is old device but still hoping for more
