Hello ...
About the new official update for S4 I9500XXUFNB3 I have 2 questions
1-If I have a rooted device with JB 4.3 and I flashed it , what happens ? the root access will be denied ? I think yes
and is there any root way ?
2- and this is the most important , I read that ART is not supported yet in this version , so should I wait it to be supported or it will not be available ?
Thanks

If you have a rooted device then you are not able to receive OTA updates and if you received and updated you will stuck in a bootloop so unroot then update and the reroot(not in same method)
And Yes if you update the firmware you will lose root.

if u flash a rom via Odin, and the rom is not pre rooted, then u always will loose root..
There's no need to unroot ur phone,as it automatically will loose root..
As for.rooting 4.4.2, once the rom gets out,so will its rooting methods...
if u want stable recovery,go for cwm
if u want recovery with more features,go for twrp..
What do I prefer?I prefer flashing rom via recovery, since chances of failure from that is slim..

Hello, just now I saw that the official upgrade 4.4 was out, so I wanted downgraded to 4.2 to update officially .. So far no problem I put a rom 4.2 on my LG and I go into recovery. I did wipe all necessary to install a new rom (I'm with the Philz recovery) then I try to flash the rom .. Its does not work, so I think there must be a problem of recovery . So I restarted the phone and it blocks at boot with the LG logo. I not understand what I could do to block here ... THANKS YOUR HELP! I really do not want to return with my Wiko --' ...
PS: I had the CloudyPro II with his recovery.
PS2: Sorry for my bad english i'm french .. Google translate
Find the return to stock thread. Never take an ota with custom recovery installed.

Alright, so irooted my T-Mobile Gs5 as soon as it came out , currently running 4.4.2 and irecieved an OTA recently . Ihavent done anything with it yet such as install custom recoveries or flash any roms . Just the stock 4.4.2 but rooted . My question is can iupdate to 4.4.3 while rooted or do ihave to unroot , update then root again . Also ikeep recieving Security Policy Updates . Can install those too while rooted?
Hi all,
I have a nexus 10 with stock android 5.0.1 , I've unlocked bootloader , flashed last twrp and rooted original rom from recovery.
My tablet work perfectly but i'm trying to find a way to update android without pc/fastboot/reflash_stock_bootloader....
Is possible to flash some zip from twrp to update to 5.02 , 5.1.0 , <some next version> ?
Thank's in advance !

From the Android Development forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-10/development/rom-21-11-2014-t2948203.
ok , this works perfectly.
another question , anytime google release an update I need to wait that someone create a twrp flashable zip or there's a way to flash android update ( only system ) directly from twrp ? I found update notify really annoing....

You would have to wait for a flashable zip. You would need to use fastboot and a computer to flash the system image, which you said wasn't an option.
my sister purshased g530h from saudi arabia many years ago . she gave it to me because it stuck at boot logo . so i flashed directly twrp and then resurrection remix 5.8.5 . excluding RR bugs , calls and sms working fine .
maybe it stucked at boot logo because of failed upgrade from 4.4 to 5.0.2 , i dont know really so i was wondering if my baseband version is latest to ensure the best working state
The latest verson for XCU
And I want to say
If you stuck at the Logo, please flash the TWRP Lollipop to fix it )) I try and success
i rechecked and i found its the latest

Did you tried flashing the stock ROM from SamMobile using Odin?
my phone works great with aospextended . i think its stucked at boot logo because my sister failed an official OTA upgrade from 4.4 to 5.02 . but now its working . thank you guys
