Galaxy A7 2016 (A710M) Bricked - Help - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Good morning everyone.
I have the following problem.
I have a Galaxy A7 2016 (a710m) after upgrading via OTA to the Nougat version.
I tried to downgrade via ODIN by passing a combination factory firmware and then a full repair 4 files (AP, BL, CSC, CP and PIT Files).
I'm just not getting any success.
Can anybody help me?
Only give this error in ODIN
<ID:0/006> cm.bin
<ID:0/006> FAIL!

Place the firmware in the AP slot. Don't place anything else in the other slots.
If you flashed a .pit file and failed you will have to replace your motherboard.

Last night I encounter custom binary lock after spending 5 hours downloading the official rom I managed to reboot, just flash it in AP slot Odin ...you need to check if your rom is new version or old version ...my A5 2016 regarded as old version apparently as I managed to boot ...if newer version only need to flash all slot in Odin.

[Q] Need PIT file SM-T535

A colleague of mine tried to flash his T535 with a stock rom from sammobile but bricked it in the process.
While doing this he got this message from odin:
<ID:0/008> hidden.img.ext4
<ID:0/008> FAIL!(Size)
Searching forums like this got me to the conclusion that I need to flash it again with the PDA and the PIT file, but I could be wrong.
I cannot find the PIT file anywhere, does someone know where to find them?
Would this solve the problem or do you guys have any other tips?
Thanks in advance!
I also need PIT file for SM-T535 tablet.
Mine comes from FTM (Orange) and I can't install other stock rom, like XEF.

Hi . You can to take Pit-file from service firmware or use service firmware whole for flash via Odin .

Nand erase all + pit + g935f fw on G935W8

Hello guys I would like to flash the g935f modem over my g935w8 canadian phone. But in order to do things right, I'm thinking about using g935f pit file and use nand erase all in odin in order to clean the whole phone, hoping that the EFS will regenerate correctly and it can transform into an international version with bootloader and modem from G935f.
Ps: I don't live in canada, that's my reason.
Do you think it's possible ?
Somebody knows some technicalities I am not aware of ?
Please help me not blow my new phone !
you will need to reflash the bootloader and modem for G935W8, otherwise some features will not work properly with fingerprints and calling features.

How come ? Care to explain more about the calling feature. ?
Cauz the whole thing is to replace the modem with 935f one
if you are using the phone outside of Canada, you can basically use any modem but you need to experiement to find the one that that works best for your country.
If you are inside of Canada, the 935W8 bootloader and modem are optimized for use by the big 3 in Canada. Which means that you should get the best signal of their servers.
I think that G935F roms work on G935W8 models, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/samsung-sm-g935f-sm-g935w8-rom-t3414612
I will maybe try on my G935W8

G935f roms work fine. I am actually using one right now. It's the modem and bootloader the are uncertain. I am afraid my EFS gets corrupted
You lost your imei??
I finally tried, but Secure Download in download mode didn't let me flash anything from g935f. so no possibility to flash g935f stuff via odin beceause of knox !!!
Never touch Nand Erease All. That's the last thing I would ever touch. (The worst case: dead phone or lost IMEI)
You can use any G935F rom since those two models are identical and other users have verified that everything works well.
And now.. why do You want to somehow reprogram Your phone from G935w8 to G935F? It's just the name + when You flash G935F rom, Your build.prop will be changed to G935F. And if You have poor signal (never happened to me while using weird/random modems) then flash a modem from the country that You live in.
Pit file I think doesn't really change the name either, it should just fix partitions.
You could eventually try flashing G935F stock rom from sammobile with a G935F pit file and see if that changes anything, but avoid touching nand erease all.

I am only interested in the modem my friend nothing else.
I tried again no way. Beceause modems from other countries are from g935f. Knox detects that and stop the process in odin. And gives me a warning in download mode.
Literraly nothing from g935f can be flashed through odin.
So I am stuck with the canadian modem. No luck. The difference in reception power is big between the 2. My wife has an international s7, so I compare all the time. It's really problematic
It's really weird that You can't flash it. I used to flash many different files through odin(from totally different phones) and it never gave me any error. Can You extract modem.img from the tar file and repack it into a new tar? Secure download error is even weirder. Have You tried flashing a whole G935F stock rom from sammobile? Those include modems too and maybe it would help. For any compatibility issues I would repack the tar file. It helped me many times.
If nothing above works then I have no idea. Sorry.

Yes I did. I even did Nand erase all. Beceause despite people think it's prohibited. It is not beceause EFS partition regenerate it self. As long as you have the right pit file.
I restored my system everything fine.
Please try and see if you can fined a solution to that issue. Thank you
I did try and it doesn't flash.

That's the million dollars question my friend.

Odin files for latest AT&T S7 Nougat update?

Does anyone have the files for the latest Nougat update released from AT&T on the Galaxy S7? I tried flashing a previous version in Odin from the BQA4 update and I think I bricked my device. I can get it into download mode but it won't flash anything in Odin. Also, if I try to power it up normally, it just flashes a blue recovery booting text in the upper left corner of the screen.
I'm using the latest Odin 3.12.3.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Ed
I have the SAME problem, AT&T is sending a new device (Refurbished) but I would rather fix my phone. Does anyone have a solution? I'm in the same boat as toast1850.

Disregard my previous note. I didn't have the samsung USB drivers installed. After installing them and placing the files in the corresponding sections I had a working phone again! Thanks for all of your help micallan_17!
By the way, I couldn't get it to work with the Princecomsy odin so I used the regular Odin 3.12. It would hang on Setup Connection every time with Princecomsy. Just an FYI for anyone else out there with this same situation.
Just wanted to say thanks again! These files unbricked my phone, I'm now running official AT&T Android 7.0 - G930AUCU4BQA6

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the unfortunate individuals whom took the BQC2 via OTA would not be able to use the files micallan_17 provided. In my case, the daughter was not worried about rooting her device and therefore took the update to the latest... Wouldn't this make the downgrade while the bootloader is now BQC2 ill advised as it would potentially brick the phone.
I suspect the G930AUCS4BQC2_CL10280464_QB12904132_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta.tar.rar file muniz_ri uploaded and mentioned in his thread below might rectify that scenario.

[RECOVERY][STOCK S8+] G955USQS2BQL1 - Galaxy S8+ SM-G955U SPR Spint

In the S8 firmware Samsung are now providing 5 files.
Here is how to install an S8 firmware
Phone preparation:
1. Download and install Odin on your PC
2. Download firmware below
3. Download and unzip your firmware (do not use WinRAR as it can give errors)
4. From your download put these files into Odin:
BL
AP
CP
CSC (not HOME_CSC)
5. Now look at the Odin Settings (for this select Options)
F.reset time
Auto reboot
6. Installing another country CSC or a network CSC will need the system partition size changing.
For this select Options and add this setting
Re-partition
7 Put phone into Download Mode and connect to PC .
When the Odin ID:COM box changes color press START

I download the official firmware from Samsung directly using this software (samfirm _v0.3.6) and use the most recent ODIN-v3.13.1, newest firmware for my Sprint S8 is G950USQS2BQL1 from January which my phone updated to G950USQS2BRB1 which must not be in a full firmware yet, just an OTA update it seems.
I got 6 files in this downloaded file(SM-G950U_1_20171206185327_w3c9ywqj6i_fac.zip.enc4) which are:
AP_G950USQS2BQL1
BL_G950USQS2BQL1
CP_G950USQS2BQL1
CSC_OYN_G950UOYN2BQL1
HOME_CSC_OYN_G950UOYN2BQL1
USERDATA_SPR_G950USQS2BQL1
What I learned is (HOME_CSC) does not wipe your data, but the (CSC) will just like a factory reset, so with this in mind
If your just upgrading your stock firmware and want to keep your Data,
then just flash these 4 files....
BL (bootloader)
AP (System)
CP (Radio)
HOME_CSC (Region)
To Wipe your phone and bring it back to Stock like brand new out of the box first time powering it up.
Flash all the above but replace (HomeCSC) with (CSC) and add in the (USERDATA_SPR) file too..
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS backup your stuff first.. I use Smart Switch to backup all my Samsung devices.
Does it lock my phone to sprint

The 5th number from the end in firmware/combination files is the bootloader version aka BL, they must be equivalent and or higher than your current bootloader. So you cannot flash BL 3 firmware are you flashed BL4 combination file, you must resource BL4 firmware or above to and you will be good to go.

Sounds like the partitions are different with the file you flashed and the stock sprint firmware. I sometimes tell Odin to re-partition to get back to stock along with the nand erase option checked as well. Just a thought... its how I get a screwed up flash back to stock, but you need a stock sprint firmware not a combo file. if you have twrp then your not stock at all and flashing a stock firmware will replace it back to original.

I sove it with the G955USQS5CRF5 file from Verizon, seems that it its compatible with the Spint firmware. I flashed with Odin, and make a FactoryReset at Recovery menu. That fixed it!
Good evening,
None of this worked. I followed the steps to a T. Put all files in and received this error? What am I doing wrong? I tried rooting my Sprint G955U and that failed. Didn't trip knox, which says 0x0 currently, but disabled fingerprint id, face recognition, samsung pay - says device has been rooted. In about section, specifies "official". Also, a new update just came out a few days ago in August, 2018. I tried to update and that failed as well. I put all these files in odin and it failed pretty quickly. Please help me restore my phone. Please see attached photos. Currently, running Android Oreo.
Serious help!

Thanks for the Reply.
I sove it with the G955USQS5CRF5 file from Verizon, seems that it its compatible with the Spint firmware. I flashed with Odin, and make a FactoryReset at Recovery menu. That fixed it!

G950F - cannot flash System via ODIN

Hello,
I am unsuccessfully fighting with sotfbricked Galaxy S8 model G950F.
I've managed to flash via ODIN latest BL, CP and CSC, which makes stock recovery available.
So to sum up - only stock recovery and Download Mode works.
When flashing AP - no matter if correct file for latest firmware according to my CSC, or to other CSC files - Odin flashes almost 70%, then suddenly stops:
<ID:0/005> system.img
<ID:0/005> userdata.img
<ID:0/005> FAIL!
<ID:0/005>
<ID:0/005> Complete(Write) operation failed.
On the phone it says then in Download mode "only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed(SYSTEM)" in red.
Has anyone successfully solved similar situation? Any ideas worth trying?
download the right firmware. check your latest firmware of phone model at sammobile.
Already did that. Downloaded almost 9 different firmware for either my carrier CSC or country CSC, but the error persists.
what binary your phone required?
What do you mean?
I've tried to flash G950FXXS7DTB5, G950FXXS7DTA6, G950FXXS7DTA1 for OPV and XEO regions.
it will work if you flash the right set of firmware.
It seems like right set of firmware doesn't work

G950FXXS7D numer 7 you must look in other firmwares
Every single binary 7 firmware is failing due to "only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed(SYSTEM)" in red in Download Mode after trying to flash.

Only official binary error is probably due to flashing firmware not signed by Samsung. This can happen when bootloader is locked and/or rmm/kg state is prenornal ( flashing non Samsung firmware )
While flashing the correct Samsung firmware will normally get you out of trouble with the error message.
What odin version are you using?
Can you post a screen shot of download mode.
I've tried ODIN 3.13.1 , 3.14.4, 3.14.1 (patched), 3.12.7 in various firmware configurations.
Below screenshot of data from download mode (with KG State - Prenormal), and screenshot of the error after trying to flash AP.

I don't really get your point. Do you want to install the official firmware or a custom one? One easy solution would be to flash twrp and search the forum for a ROM you want to flash (there is even stock debloated ones that are better than total stock in my opinion). Can you please provide more details on what you are trying to achieve and what's the problem?

Anything above Odin version 3.13.1 should do, as they support .lz4 compression ratio.
You screen shots from previous post looks ok to be flashing stock firmware. With KG state being prenormal you will have issues flashing non Samsung signed firmware ie: twrp, root etc.
Since the Knox has been tripped do you know what has been done to the phone before. May provide some info on what is happening.
As a matter of interest have you tried Samsung Smart Switch to try and fix the issue. It does have a recovery option in there. Do you have latest Samsung drivers installed on PC.
Note: Running Smart Switch and Odin can cause issues with each other.
