Hi! I've had my tablet that was running on Android 6.0. Wanted to root but came to the conclusion I needed to downgrade to Lollipop in order to do this. I've searched everywhere on the web to no avail and finally came across this post that's actually in these forums & thought I give this a shot.
I managed to use this method to downgrade my ZenPad Z580C (P01M) from 6.0 to 5.0. But, now I've just noticed the .raw file that was supplied is more likely for the Z580CA (P01MA) model. Is it possible to flash my tablet with correct firmware from Asus for my model Z580C (P01M)?

hello friends... i have a question, i running cm 13 in my zenfone 2 ZE551MIL.
I have backup from my original rom in my SD card, without root, if i restore this bakcup using TWRP restore tab,can im install asus updates via OTA like a origial Lock bootloader? I intend to back to original rom for update to android 6.0 when asus launch it . Thanks!!!:good:
First things first, you posted your inquiry in the wrong forum. This is the ZenFone 2 Laser variant's forum, whereas your model falls under the general forum, ZenFone 2.
If you DID NOT UNLOCK your device USING the provided ASUS Unlock Tool, you would be able to receive OTA updates as per normal. Recovering your device from a previous backup, or from the full ROM provided on the ASUS support site would not change anything with regards to the receiving of the OTA updates for your device.
With that being said, I highly doubt so Android 6.0 would be available via OTA when it comes out. The previous ASUS phone that I owned, namely, the ZenFone 5 LTE, had to flash the update to Android 5.0 manually instead. The OTA update came out months later.
Hello all,
this is my first post on XDA so I hope I am doing everything according to the rules. If I do something wrong, apologies and I will do better next time.
So, I recently purchased a Zenfone 3 MAX in the US in a hurry out of necessity. So I was quite annoyed to find out that ASUS has hidden the ability to format the SD card as internal memory. However I found out there is a way to un-hide the feature via adb. But the procedure I found is tested to work with Marshmallow, and I had already updated the phone to Nougat. Indeed, the adb command has had no effect on my phone.
So, now I am trying to downgrade back to Marshmallow. I am definitely a newbie to this world, but I have been able to find this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/help/how-to-downgrade-zenfone-3-nougat-to-t3573241) thread, which contains a link to a downgrading procedure (https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-164531-1-3.html). However, it is not for ZC520TL but for ZE520KL.
I was hoping I could use the same procedure for my phone, if I find the right firmware, but I am not sure I have been looking in the right places. The ASUS website has various firmware versions for the US and I assume the oldest one is Marshmallow (Version US-13.1.4.43), but the procedure above requires two different firmware files and I do not know enough to understand what is the difference and where I can find them.
Anyone can shed some light on this for me?
Thank you

Ask for it. A user in Canada obtained the downgrade. Please write in this thread and share it.

Thanks for your reply.
I have looked at the thread you linked, but I could not see any reference to someone successfully getting their phone downgraded to M by Asus. If anything some people in there stress how unhelpful is Asus with the whole thing. So I am not any closer to the solution than I was before.

Thanks for the link. I have looked around and found a firmware for the ZC520TL. However I am not sure it is the right one for me because it is my understanding that I need a firmware whose name starts with UL, rather than WW. I am not sure what would happen if I used firmware of a different zone. Moreover, I have been able to recover the right firmware from the ASUS website. What I need is the "RAW firmware" as defined in the procedure I have linked in my original post. But I don't know how that is different from the firmware. As I said, I am very new to this world.

WW stands for global firmware, however I am not sure what UL is for. You can contact the person in that website asking for your firmware. They will help.
Hi all.
I bought a Zenpad 8 about 2 years ago. It came with Lollipop and when Asus finally released the Marshmallow update, it bogged down the tablet, so I found this thread here and used the instructions to downgrade back to Android 5.0. The tablet ran much better, and I loved it.
Last month, I dropped it and broke the screen, so I ordered a new (seemingly identical) one from Amazon. When I got it, I saw that it shipped with the Marshmallow update already installed. I immediately went through the steps again to downgrade it, but when I went to reinstall all my apps afterwards, many of them were not available to me in the Play Store. They were listed, but said they were not compatible with my device. So, I did some digging.
Turns out that the model of the new tablet they sent (found in the SETTINGS/ABOUT menu) me is a P01MA, whereas the old one is a P01M. The product listing and the box & sticker for both tablets all say Z580C, but when I Google the P01MA number, it looks like that number is for the Z580CA version (with 4GB of RAM & 64BG HDD...which my device does not have). It's very confusing.
Anyway, the upshot is that I cannot get the new tablet to revert back to the stock firmware, both the manual and OTA updates from ASUS don't work (I've tried every file for both listed tablets - the Z580C & CA), factory reset goes right back to the 5.0, and many of my apps are still listed as incompatible. I'm guessing that the P01M and P01MA are slightly different hardware versions of the same tablet and I screwed up by assuming they were the same devices. I have looked, but I cannot find a RAW firmware specifically for the P01MA Z580C model. Any ideas on what I can do? I'm fine with either MM or Lollipop as long as all my apps work properly. Thanks!
Hallo everybody.
I have a tab s3 with Android 9, firmware T825XXU3CTA1, and I hate it, too slow.
I would like to downgrade it to Android 8 or, if possible, even better to 7.
I boughy it via Amazon Italy
Which firmware should I download and, if I may, where can I?
I wouldn't like to root, but if needed I can do it.
See enclosed for more details.
Thank you and have a nice day.
