Latest Samsung email app that works on Note 4 without root? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an AT&T Note 4 (SM-N910A) running stock MM 6.0.1 without root. The stock Samsung email app shows version 5.0.0.0400 when I look in the app manager. Does anyone know if there is a newer version that can be installed without root?
Oddly, the files listed on APKMirror all show lower version numbers:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/samsung-email/
I tried downloading version 3.4.86 for Android 6, but it would not install:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsu...ng-email/variant-{"minapi_slug":"minapi-23"}/

I am using 3.4.86 and I guess this is the Iatest version.
It works but in a custom ROM (erobot in my case).
I doubt you can install this app without root.

Weirdnesses with root. Interesting story.

Okay. I just had the weirdest experience with rooting my Note 2. I had the Pakistani ROM installed, rooted. Flashed with latest French ROM without unroot and used Exynos Abuse. Updated OTA without further reboots. Now, my status only shows normal if I'm ROOTED. Plus, Samsung Apps now shows a counter of - 1. Any way around that.

You can't! You can only install touch wiz based roms using safestrap.

On 4.4.2 NCG, unrooted, should I upgrade?

I'm still on 4.4.2 and was wondering if I should go up?
I had it rooted initially to remove bloatware and block the OTA but had to unroot to test apps at work.
I would like to keep the ability to root available. Is it worth upgrading? I think I recall hearing battery life was worse but don't know if that has been cleared up by now.
Also I remember checking VZ site a while back for an installer and it didnt seem they had one. Is it only available through OTA? I would have to remember how to reenable that. Or would I need to do something with Odin? I haven't used that since my Galaxy S 4G.
I was hesitant, but then did it using a stock rooted rom.
Currently on 5.0 rooted using xposed and am very happy for the past 3 months.

Have you tried Magisk?
Hi, you could try CF-Autoroot. It used it on my SM-N910F before I changed OS - for me it worked perfect -, but there's also a version for your phone.
Here's the download link for all CF-Autoroot versions, including yours: https://autoroot.chainfire.eu
On the website, there's also an detailed explaination how to use CF-Autoroot.
