Updated to 8.0 Oreo and I noticed that Select to Speak under Accessibility is not working. I have Talk Back install and it’s working fine. I’ll toggle the setting to turn it on but the floating tab would not show up. Is this working for you guys or is it just my setup.
I get a little person in the bottom right corner when I turn it on. If I click it a little tiny box pops up with play and stop button.

Thanks. Maybe it’s time for a Factory Reset and a clean install.

I recently bought the HD2 and when I install a new app or program, I keep randomly getting a message that it has been installed, I have powered it off and turned it back on and that seems to address it, is there any way of turning these notifications off?
No need to turn off/on, just tap the OK button in the top right corner

Thanks! I am a bit of a newbie where it comes to this phone!!
Hi,
I have a i5800 which I have updated with froyo.
I'm pretty pleased with the operation of the phone, with 2 exceptions.
Firstly, the audio seems to skip in voice calls, which makes it hard to comprehend the other person. I figure this may be because there isn't an official froyo yet, so I hope itll be resolved if the official firmware ever comes out.
Secondly, I just can't believe how awkward it is to hang up a voice call. When the screen is on. There is a button, but usually the screen has blocked during the call, so it needs to be swiped first.
So, does anyone have a more convenient way?
Can you stop the screen turning off/locking during voice calls, or can you assign a physical button to hang up?
Any advice would be appreciated.
which version did you flashed? in firmware I5800BOJP6 works everything good try to flash this version
I usually say "Alright, bye."

Now as the laughing has faded away we can get to the point. I know how you feel. I hate same things about my phone.
Go to Settings -> Accesibility and press cancel. Then check 'The power key ends call'
It will not turn the screen off. That's what I use.

I use this as well. It's the best way to end a call. I felt the same way trying to hang up calls before. So I used to give up, say bye and put it in my pocket hoping they hung up soon.
That's a good idea, but when I go there on the settings it's greyed out, and says I need to install accessibility application, checked market and cannot find. Where do I get this application?
Odd. What rom are you using?
Well, you could follow the link it gives..

I'm using I5800XXJPF. Generally it works well for me. Voice calls just skip on occasion. It annoying but I can live with it for now. Still hoping we will some day see an official froyo for this phone.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a lot, it works great, that makes things a lot more simple.
I have a g2 that is broken and I need help getting some things off of it.
the phone works except the screen wont come on. The touch screen works but I cant tell where I am touching.
i want to use Droid Explorer to allow me to use the screen emulator but there is one catch...
My wife never turned on the USB Debugging.
I would like a few screen shots of the STOCK G2 from TMOUS
1) I need the home screen with the menu button pressed
2) The settings screen... If "applications" fits in the first screen then just that screen... If it is below the screen then could you show me a shot of the last item on the first screen scrolled to the top so as to be able to see where "applications" will lie.
3) The shot of the "applications" page and where "USB Debugging" is
Thanks!!!!!!
Don
Well I'll try and help (My replacement got the 2.3.3 update so no root)
If you can get into settings swipe down hard so you know you're at the top of the page. From there Applications should be lateral from where the charging port is on the side. Tap the same spot for development, and USB debugging should be lateral from the top of the volume up button and tap anywhere on that line (At least on GB) and it should come up with a pop up. Now put your finger right above the home button and just tap in a straight line up and stop before you get to the middle of the screen and USB debugging should be enabled. ( The phone is upright during this, make sure phone is unplugged during this or it may go to the USB storage screen, just hit back in that case and continue with your phone above the home button.)
Let me know if you need more help.
Just did it with my eyes closed so works from my end =p
Thanks!!!
That worked!!! Thanks!!!
Now we are cookin!!
My wife says thanks!!

If you go to google card settings -> Voice -> "Ok Google" detection
Turn off "From Any Screen"
I was having an issue where on all phone calls, I could hear the person I was speaking too, but to them it sounded like I was VERY far away from the mic (even when yelling) and they could not hear me.
At first thought it was my car bluetooth or the phone mic. But I found it wasn't the car bluetooth by using my car voice commands which worked fine. Then I tested the phone mic through "Google" now commands and voice typing which all worked fine. I even made a phone call through Hangouts which worked fine.
I have Verizon LG G3 unrooted and had my phone swapped out from Verizon on Saturday 3/15 because of this issue. Got my new phone after it was mailed to me, bought a new glass screen protector for $50 set all my settings back up and then today it started again. I have been searching for HOURS online and found a reddit article suggesting this solution. Tried it, and like magic my phone was working fine again. It is entirely software related.
First thing I did was come to this forum to make sure it was recorded here for others suffering.

Easy, launch Google Now.
Hit the menu button at the upper left (left of the Google logo).
Tap Settings.
Tap Voice.
This will put you in the right place.

Does the trigger turn on correctly?
Or it turns off as soon as you touch it?
Everything works normally, except touching it twice.
Okay, let's try to understand what's going on with the touch.
In the developer options turn on "show touches".
In fact, double tap to wake also works when you want to turn off the screen (by the lockscreen).
So press the lateral button to turn on the screen, and double tap.
You should see your tap with a little white circle.
Try out and let us know what you see.
