Hello Everyone,,,
I this some of you guys are aware about hike getting stuck on the sync screen in some custom roms like, RR,LOs...
So has anyone found any workaround of this issue like use of custom kernal or something like that.
Please provide some suggestions on this...

There's one way. But the timeline and some other features won't work.
use titanium backup to backup hike working on the stock rom or any custom rom
And then restore it on the rom you wanna use it on.

The title is kind of misleading.
This isn't AOSP , but a sort of skin for an HTC rom to look like vanilla.
Either way, good job!
is there anyway to get the facebook contacts to sync with phone contacts ?
Anyone else having a problem with the auto rotation working mine won't rotate.
by optional, you mean that the nexus launcher is already installed, just not default right?
does nexus launcher work? having some problems with other roms with it, a lot of force closing and freezing up.
does this require Armon's recovery image?
Re: [ROM DarchVanilla2eris (Vanilla!! liveWP nexuslauncher optional)
yes it looks like autorotate isn't working i will fix shortly.. and
yes if u do the setup when u first flash.. Facebook should sync fine..

Two questions
1) would it be possible to put navigation on this rom?
2) would it be possible to take the messaging app from this and use it on another rom?
Thank you! Besides not having navigation this is nearly perfect!
Love this rom ..... likewise once auto rotation is fixed i will be going back to it.....
also, are there known issues with the wifi ? i kept getting an unable to start wifi message

Best Custom ROM to flash?

Hey guys,
Lately the Stock ROM is annoying me, I'm planning on flashing it to a custom ROM - I don't see gingerbread anywhere so I thought why not !
Also, my tab was rooted until something happened and I had to reset it to factory settings, most of the apps (that need root access) work, but titanium backup claims it fails to achieve root.
So Should I re root my tab before flashing a custom ROM?
and of course the question I asked in the title - what would you'll recommend for a custom rom on a GSM tab (I was thinkin overcome)
Cheers
Jackie

I'd also reccomend Overcome. Best rom out there IMHO. Until we get data on honeycomb anyway
Sent from inside a whale.
I also recommend Overcome. It's been brilliant so far.

Sweet, thanks a lot guys.
But can anyome tell me a sure **** way of know if it still has root, because some apps like screen density and market enabler work but titanium backup says "could not gain root" :/

Probably because you mis-pressed the allow button in superuser when first launching titanium.
launch superuser and remove teh titanium entry and next time you load it will ask for su rights again.
Definetly overcome!

I second that. Alterbridge is a first class developer.
And I really miss Rotohammer too.
Thank you very much everyone, I'm thinking I'll get rid of unwanted stuff on my internal SD before I start it - as I found out that conversion to ext4 takes a while - so I'll save time that way also - hopefully if time permits, I'll be flashing my tab soon
Also does anyone know if i could some how get the gingerbread framework to work with the galaxy tab on overcome?

I think its better you hold out at the moment till someone ports it over to the WiFi version
Well its a good idea. Am empty SD card conversion takes 2 minutes. Full one can take upto 20 LOL. Not that I encourage everyone to wipe their cards. I flashed overcome when my tab was fairly new so I had no problems wiping it.
sweet, thanks for the info, also when the ext4 is being converted, is there a progress bar or status? I get paranoid at times when I don't see any progress

[Q] SACs custom V7.1 issues - wifi, caller ID

I'm running SACS Custom 7.1 with Faux kernal, and since I update to 7.1 from v7, my phone doesn't save any wifi profiles I connect to. Another thing I've noticed is no image shows up when recieving a call, so I have no idea who is calling. I got a 3rd party caller id from the market to fix that, but still a strange issue.
I am experianced with phones, but haven't posed enough here to post in SACs page, so any ideas would be helpful.
I tried looking at settings from 3minit or XPOSED, but nothing has changed since V7, so I'm wondering where to look.
The wifi profile shows up in data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf, but only the one I am connected to at the time. If i disconnect and reconnect I need to re-enter the password.
Not important but annoying.
Thanks for your help in advance, you guys are awesome!
P.S. SACs work is awesome, no complaints here, just troubleshooting strange issues

Sorry not to be a jerk but if you read the thread atleast without having the ability to post you will find that the issue for wifi is the faux kernel and to fix that just flash a different kernel. The black caller id is because a setting in xpose sorry I forgot what module was the culprit. If I where you ill just wipe everything clean 3 times and then install v7.1. Then you will see no problems.

Thanks for the response. I appreciate the help. Should have read better is the common problem, thanks!
Update:
Reflashed ROM after wiping everything 4-5 times, like recommended, stock kernel.
Wifi issue resolved, but still getting black screen with only answer slider when receiving a call.
All Exposed mods are not activated yet, so must be something else. Nothing in 3minit is set up yet either.
Any other ideas?
Thanks

Go into Xposed
Uncheck Gravity
OR if you like Gravity pick "full screen caller ID" (it's in there somewhere in the settings, I just forget exactly where)

Is there a recommended kernel to fix the wifi issue? A link to download would be awesome. I'm a root newb. I've searched around and it looks like I should be able to flash the new kernel from cwm? Do you do it just like a room install? Just install from zip? I'd like to just flak the kernel, so I don't have to set everything up all over again like I do after a new rom. Is that doable? Thanks.

Flash whatever kernel you want that is for the Sprint gs4, just wipe cache and dalvik first. After flashing, fix permissions in TWRP under the advanced menu just to be sure your phone is optimized. You can do this whenever you want, just give a kernel around a day to see if you like its performance before you change it again.

Yeah just like a ROM. Flash in CWM is all you do. Go in original development and try out ktoonz or agats kernel. I've heard chronic is also good.

What is a Good Rom for this phone.

What is a good rom to run on this phone? I have tried a few and can't seem to find anything that works with out issue. I tried the latest SlimRom which I liked but It doesn't allow me root access. So apps like titanium backup don't work I've tried I think its OEO or something of that nature and it was ok and I don't care for CM11.
I am using the stock rom that came with the phone I think that is ICS

I have never found a more functional rom than mhous33 dst stock or the avistralia deodexed mod.
All the cm, pacman, aokp...... never work FOR ME in all the capacities of stock.
About TiBu, I have always found issues with it.
I use recovery advanced restore to move apps.
You can move your stock data to both the dst & avistralia roms.

They do have use to you because you would find the info you're looking for, if you take the time to read them.
I tried out SlimKat and it seemed ok but i really don't like how little they made the fonts and the screens in it. Some of us older people need bigger. I also had to flash the SU binary update as its not added to it. I tried out the beta 2 edition. After my data resets I plan on trying the DST one that was also suggested. Sometimes not having home internet sucks.

ROM Recommendation

HI,
Just temporarily got a S5360 phone borrowed while my Lg G3 is being fixed.
Can you guys please recommend me an stable, slim, light & fast ROM? I already rooted, have temporal CWM on it and got the phone unlocked.
I just need to make phone calls, use Gmail, whatspp and listen to music with this phone (hopefully with no lag).
Thanks!
