Thanks a lot for your answer. But I would like to ask, will "Nand Erase All" delete all the data on the phone??
Appreciate your time for answering.

Nand Erase All it's mean clean all internal storage, so when you flash using ODIN or else make sure you have backup of data. for more future information please read this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2610757 :good:

At this moment I have no backup from my data, do I have any option (in my situation) to backup my data before Nand erase all??
And also, did I also need a PIT file to add to odin when flashing as SpamMachine discribed in 2nd post?? (I read somewhere that it is important to add a pit file...)
Thanks in advance

I think you have no chance to backup data. but if you have previously synchronized it may be possible to recover but maybe some data can not be recovered. flashing device with or without PIT file can be, but have you ever tried to flashing by using 4 types of firmware (full firmware) ? not a single one.
it's for the PIT file if you do not already have it. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66358795&postcount=10
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24407100847294485 here is for repair firmware if you need it. I not provided this file, so credits goes to original hosted. :highfive:

Big Trouble with bricked T-Mobile Galaxy Tab / German Version

Hello I bought a Galaxy Tab at T-Mobile in Germany.
I wanted to install the latest firmware from samfirmware.com.
I downloaded the latest XXJMA and flashed it onto the device over ODIN 1.7.
After it flashed it did not go out of the download mode.
I had to manually turn it off.
Then when I booted the device only the samsung animated logo appeard and then only the letters samsung appeard.
No more booting from here.
Now I tried lots of firmwares but nothing helped.
What I succeded inwas:
turn down the device
turn it on with sound on buttom and i landed in Android System recovery (3e)
Here I can read the error:
update media, please wait
E:Can´t mount /dev/block/stl10
(Invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can´t mount DBDATA
your storage not prepared yet, please use UI for format and reboot actions.
Here I tried to wipe / factory reset but nothing helped
I read hundreads of threats but I do not get it to work.
Can you please please help me - I am so dissapointed about my error - I want my Tab back .
please any idea would be perfect.
Regards and greetings from nuremberg
Marcus
Try looking at this thread - it may help!
Essentially, you'll need to flash dbdata.rfs only.
Regards,
Dave
Re-flash the same JM Firwmare you got, and after that when it reboots into download mode again, flash dbdata.rfs underphone again, and you will be able to boot it back.
it does not go into download mode again - after the flash it does not reboot - I have to manually turn it off and turn it on again and then it goes into the loop
How should I flash this file ?
Thank you !!!!
It should definitely go in to download mode again!
I take it that from a completely off Tab, you are holding volume down and then powering on again?
Regards,
Dave
ok after normal reboot it goes to the samsung logo and loops
when I reboot and press vol down it goes into download mode
ok but there is no dbdata.rfs in the JMA Firmware
file and how should I open it into odin ? Odin does not let me take a dbdata.frs
Look at this post - under "Misc Notes".
Regards,
Dave
EDIT: IIRC correctly, you flash it under PDA.
Dave - thank you a lot - I just took this dbdata.zip - dezipt it and made an tar archive and now I wanted to flash it over odin and it did start but now it does not end. Could this be the wrong dbdata.rfs ? What is the dbdata.rfs ? Thank you again - I am so desperate - I thought I know a lot about flashing but this Tab makes me go crazy. I trying now for 2 days.
Regards
Marcus
Might be an idea to try reflashing JMA first, and then flash dbdata over it.
Regards,
Dave

One other thing!
The zip file in the post I linked to contains a TAR archive, so it sounds like you unzipped it and tar'd a tar file!
Regards,
Dave
Flash again
Funny - if i unzip the file dbata.zip from the link there is no tar - it is just dbdata.rfs

I use WinRAR, so when I unzip, I get another file called "dbdata.rfs", which is also openable by WinRAR. The reason is that it's a TAR file, and the extension has been hidden. If I right click on the file, and select properties, it shows me that the file name is dbdata.rfs.tar and the file type is WinRAR archive.
Regards,
Dave
Hey Dave - thank you - I just found out - I downloaded it on my mac and it did not see the tar - I switched to my acer notebook and now I sa the tar and could flash it and now it works !!!!!!! GGGRRREEEEAAAAAATTTTTTT
Thanks to you. How can I thank you ?
Can you just tell me what the dbdata file is and contains ? Is it independent from the rest of the firmware ?
Again THANK YOU MAN
Greetings Marcus
It's the partition mounted at /dbdata.
Regards,
Dave
IS the partition empty and is it not important that the dbdata file matches the Formware ?
Or is it just a partition description ?
Dave - thank you again you helped me so much.
I told my Wife and some people about your help and this community
Greetings
Marcus
Hi Marcus,
Pleased to be of assistance!
DBData is important, but I think the apps themselves create there own data on it, so I don't think the version itself is particularly important.
Regards,
Dave
Hey i have excactly the same problem. I tried the dbdata reflash but it changed nothing.
Another problem i have is that i can't flash any firmware older then JM6 they all fail to flash at the beginning when odin starts to write Kernel/boot
Do you have an idea?

Galaxy S3 i9300 Unbrick [restore to stock rom] [noobs][easy]

Hi guys! This is a noob-proof guide on how to flash stock samsung firmware on your i9300. Whether you have bricked it or just want the stock firmware back. Here's how to do it (detailed explaination)
WARNING! : This is only for the GT i9300 (international version) , Check your device before proceeding. Also you might lose all your data. So backup! i am not responsible if you brick your phone(although very unlikely) by not following the guide properly
Also you will lose your custom recovery, Custom ROM and will not longer have root
Ok lets begin!
1. Make sure you have the samsung drivers installed on your pc (http://bit.ly/SDaIIE)
2. Your device should have at least 80% battery left
3. Enable USB Debugging by going to Settings>Developer Options>Tick the Usb debugging tick box!
Files needed :
1. Android 4.1.2 I9300XXEMC3 for Galaxy S3 I9300 - http://www.hotfile.com/dl/202240205/4dcf384/I9300XXEMC3_I9300NEEEMC1_NEE.zip.html
2. Odin 3.07 - http://bit.ly/16aRzF4
Extract The firmware Zip file until you get a file with a .tar extension and some other files. Do not extract furthur
Extract odin zip file till you get Odin3 v3.07.exe
Now here comes the actual flashing part
1. Power off your smartphone. Wait 5-6 seconds for vibration to confirm complete switch off.
2. Now, get into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power button simultaneously until Samsung Galaxy logo appears in phone screen. Wait few seconds and your phone will be in download mode.
3.Open odin as administrator and connect your s3 to your computer with usb cable
4. You will get a message "Added" in the message box in odin and You should also see COM port with a number in Yellow if you successfully added your device.
if you don't get this , try another usb port.. if it still doesn't come , reinstall drivers.
5. Select these files from I9300XXEMC3 folder in Odin at respective buttons:
Click the PDA Button, and select the .tar.md5 file here with *code* appearing in its name
Click the Phone Button, and select file with *modem* in its name (leave if there is no such file)
Click the CSC Button, and select file with *csc* in its name (leave if there is no such file)
Click the PIT Button, and select the .pit file. Use only if you got it while extracting , otherwise ignore it.
6. make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected. Also, make sure that Re-Partition checkbox is selected, only if you are using a .pit file
7. Double check everything above and hit start!
8. once flashing is complete the phone will reboot automatically and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can then unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.
After completing these steps, Make sure to wipe the cache and do a factory reset in clockworkmod recovery if you do happen to find yourself in a bootloop (phone rebooting continuously) Or just do it anyways to prevent a bootloop from occurring.
congrats! , you have just restored your i9300!
If this has helped you make sure to hit the thanks button!

Yes and no... You must reformat partitions and upload an ICS bootloader. Not for the regular user i'm afraid

This normally happens when the partitions on the embedded multi media card gets corrupted for whatever reason, also known as the emmc.
The phone can be revived by flashing a pit file to repartition the emmc in order so it can be written to.
Download and unzip this file and you will have a .pit file which you put in the tab marked PIT in Odin
GT-I9300_mx_20120220.pit = Galaxy S3 of 16 Gb
GT-I9300_mx_20120322.pit = Galaxy S3 of 32 Gb
GT-I9300_mx_20120329.pit = Galaxy S3 of 64 Gb
(Just google the one that you need and download it)
Next make sure > r partition, f /reset, and auto reboot are ticked in options in Odin.
Next put the stock rom in the tab marked PDA, if flashing a custom rom then flash a rooted kernel first in PDA together with the pit file, hit start and start the flashing process, afterwards this will also give you the option of flashing the rom from recovery, next, flash the custom rom from Odin or from recovery
When finished the phone should reboot and start up.

If it is an official ROM package, it shouldn't trigger yellow triangle.

i have a SM-G900F currently on boot-loop, tried to flash a stock rom, odin says it was a success but now its still on boot loop , even tried wipe data.
Boot to recovery, factory reset
If it still fails, flash the stock ROM again, few people have had the same problem
First boot does take quite a while, so give it like 10-15 mins to boot
i cant seem flash the stock rom now,Secure Check fail :modem

well Firstly if any mod is kind enough to move this thread to the appropriate section please kindly do so,

I don't know wich is the right section neither because it's an help request but not a question and it's in general interest because it concerns G900f partitions.
However if I remember correctly just need to thick "erase nand" and "efs phone clear" in odin and putting a g900f 16gb pit file for "repartition" to check.
If I remember correctly you will not use imei.

WIPED IMEI without a BACKUP

Hey, guys, I have a question: I HEARD that the original IMEI of the Note 4 (I have the N910C - TCE) is read from the motherboard, but I also heard that if you don't have a backup of your /efs folder from the original stock ROM then you're screwed?
Do anyone of you all know anything about this? Problem is: I flashed a ROM on my phone and it wiped my IMEI, replacing it with a generic IMEI (350050500009692), and now I can't get it back without a backup of the /EFS folder?
I would REALLY appreciate your guys' help as its been at least a week and a half since I lost network service... if you guys need more screenshots, just ask and I'll post them.
Flash stock rom with odine wipe everything using a pit file...
I hope that will resolve your problem.
My friend have done the same thing. I flashed stock ROM from sammobile with Odin and IMEI was back and network service was back.

The pit file should be specific to your model of note 4
you have N910C EXYNOS try first to flash your stock rom without pit if that didn't fix it flash using the pit file.

Unfortunately bro you will not get anything, l know my words very disappointing but efs or serial number is special information stored in your phone (emmc)by special partition and if you wiped that ,then you lost your serial number forever,
You have only two way?
1-go to Samsung service and they will repair your phone and will back your stock serial number but that will cost you much money (200) $ or more :crying::crying:
2-anyone with zx3 box or octopus box will fix it but another serial number you will get
Super imei and that will 50$or less

@medo sator, two questions:
1. How do I know if my emmc partition is ruined? What if it's just my EFS folders?
2. What is Super IMEI like you mentioned in your comment above?
I have the same IMEI problem and have used odin and samsung tools pro with no change, also i tried reseting efs and nothing. It's a model SM-G750A galaxy mega 2 and i'm out of ideas or exhausted every search, what can i do?
Thanks,
Ok first install https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995315430 that is MM stock rom for N910C. In odin under options please check auto reboot, reparation, f. reset time, nand erase all, phone efs clear and phone bootloader update. Just in case it asks for the pit click on the pit tab and select the N910C pit you can extract in this firmware. I posted the pit as an attachment just encase you can not figure out how to get the pit file.
Will this work for my sm-g750a galaxy mega 2 also?

EFS and flash with PIT file, Re-partition checked and Nand erase enabled?

Hi, all!
First of all, I have searched XDA forum and the web without finding the answer to my exact question.
I have an S8, SM-G950F, NEE-region. I'm on Pie, XXS6DTA1. Stock, no root, and I do not wish to root or trip Knox. I experience an issue when I try to enter Recovery mode. It will not start properly as it should - it shows an error triangle and the message 'No command' and after some 15-20 secs. it enters recovery with several error messages saying something like 'vendor file could not be found beause path is missing...' (or something like that - I don't remember exactly).
I have read that this might have to do with a possible partition problem/corruption and it might be resolved by flashing with the 'Nand erase' checked. I have also found instructions on how to Odin flash with this option checked.
Now my question: What will happen with my EFS partition (or other critical partitions for that sake) if I flash the XXSDTA1 FW with the appropriate PIT file, 'Re-partition' enabled and 'Nand Erase enabled'? Will I lose EFS, rendering the phone unusable? I should add that I already flashed the FW with PIT and 'Re-partition' enabled and it did not resolve my issue.
Thanks for any input

PIT file is basically a set of instructions defining the phone partition layout. You should use a it if you want to re-partition the phone
EFS a partition on your internal memory containing important data including the IMEI
Which means when you use pit file to re-partition your device it will not effect the EFS section cause if you need to wipe EFS partition you will have to use option 'Clear EFS' which is not available in odin
Thank you for your response - much appreciated
Referring to my question - what if 'Nand Erase' is also ticked/checked? Apparently, I have an issue with one or more partitions which is not resolved by 'Re-partition' only.
If I use 'Nand Erase' together with 'Re-partition' and FW - then what will happen to EFS?
BTW: I use Odin 3.13.3
Thank you for any further input
