OOS short press action - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I'm using OOS 4.5.10 and was wondering is there a way to configure the short press action as I would like to change recent apps menu from short press to long press action as sometimes my palm or fingers touches it and it brings up the recent apps menu which I don't like, but there is no option to change in Buttons settings?

Assigning volume buttons as scrolling up/down

Is there possible to assign volume control buttons as up/down scrolling?
There can be options
- better is if on home screen they works as volume control, for applications as scrolling
- always scrolling
- scrolling only in certain applications
?
Also, is there possible device tilt for scrolling?
maybe you check "AE Button Plus". a lot of discusiion around here
Is is possible?
Yes it is possible - I use it.
I have set it up do do exactly as you as you ask where a "short press" of the up/down volume buttons will scroll up and down and a "long press" will change the volume as normal.
You can download it here http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php
Thank you!
AE Button Plus is good application and it works, but it's not free.
Now I try HButton 2.3

Question guys,
How do I map the call button to long press (like the smallest long press ever) to get the Start menu?
Thanks

The unregistered function is almost fully functioning.
I recommend it.
I bought the app as I use it all the time and thought it fair to the developer even though I don't actually use the additional functions in the reg version.

You should be able to map long press send, long press end and long press power. It should work like the Fuze. Check out this articles but I bet it's identical:

Here's one on making it the start menu: http://www.fuzemobility.com/?p=1249
The mapped long press buttons take 3 seconds or so...not sure it's great for that unless you try DredSensor but then you'd lose a physical button (short press) to something else...
Is the long press timeout option in the settings the time one has to "long press" in order to trigger what he sets? Coz you can set it from 200ms to 900ms. I am guessing this is the time required to trigger a long-press response/activation.
I would suggest you send an email to the AEB developer. I did once and he responded in the same day.
He could probably guide you much (v. much) better than I on all the options in AEB+ (including "long-key press mode")
thanks Dave.
For a temporary fix,(or perhaps a preferred alternative?) I have set up volume to scroll up and long press (which is barely a second) to start menu (shows quick menu not original start menu) and volume down to scroll down and long press of it to ok/action. This way I can pull down the start menu with a little press, scroll up/down and then select an item or enter the submenu using the down button.

Home button hold duration

I've seen few threads about this here but none of them had a conclusive answer. Is there a way to change the home button hold duration, holding it for 2 seconds to open the recent apps is really annoying. I've seen some ROMs have this as a setting, so there's probably a way to do it on stock Android, or not?
bump!! There must be a way somehow
Don't know about home button delay setting, but I prefer Xposed Addition. So you can tap and hold menu key for recent apps compared using physical home button

Non-Root alternative for "Less frequent notifications" Xposed Module?

Does anyone have any good recommendations for apps that can limit the number of notification sounds that your phone can create within a certain time-frame? There was a great Xposed module [less frequent notifications] that could do this on a rooted device and I find myself missing that feature a lot on my un-rootable S7 .
Also looking for an app that will let me customize what the home, back, and recent buttons can do.

Thanks for the suggestion. It has quite a few options, but it looks like it is missing the ability to customize a 'double tap' press on any of the buttons. I wasn't able to find a 'last app' action either. My ideal set-up would be:
Home
single press - home
double press - camera
long press - google Now on tap
Recents
single press - recents
double press - do nothing
long press - google search
Back
single press - back
double press - last app
long press - kill app
edit: realize I can do without the double press and could move the 'last app' action, if available, to the recent apps long press.
bump

Help Regarding Home Button and one otehr Thing

Hello Friends
I just want to know how to replace Long Pressing Home Button Shortcut with Nothing
On Long Pressing Home Button it opens Google App
and also when i Long Press Left Navigation Key it Opens all the running Apps along with Google Search Bar
I want to remove that Search Bar
I have tried everything but of no use
Setting- About Phone and enable Advance Mode.
After that goto Setting- Buttons and customize as you want.

How can I reprogram the navigation bar buttons?

I want each of home, back, and recent apps buttons to have different actions with single tap, double tap, and hold.
I upgraded from my one plus which was running custom lineage os. I could switch apps by double tapping my home button and it was beautiful. I could also 'kill apps' by holding the back button. So good.
Any way to do this?
Thanks
