Hello all.
I have a weird issue in my phone. There are multiple YouTube folders and I can't delete them.
How it happened?
I wanted to use the iYTBP Magisk module. For that, I disabled the YouTube app (I'm on stock), deleted the YouTube folder in /system/app and confirmed that it was deleted. Then I flashed iYTBP in the recovery.
When I rebooted my phone, the YouTube app was not found. So I flashed iYTBP again in the recovery. This time, I found the app but it was disabled. I enabled it and it works just fine.
However, now there are multiple YouTube folders.
I have XT1643, stock Nougat (June) and rooted with Magisk.
Please guide me in deleting the folder. It's not a problem so much as a nuisance.

I accidentally removed Youtube. I tried to install it again for google Play store and its crashing after opening. I installed it as apk, and it did the same thing. any help?
If you are on stock rom (i suppose you haven't deodexed it), go to /system/app using root explorer and see if you can find Youtube.odex. That file may be causing some problems. Delete it, and then install a downloaded youtube apk.
If you're on a custom rom, I recommend you to reflash your rom as i can't think of any other solution.
If you are on custom rom or stock rom download youtube from google play store...and if you want make it system app
Globally recognised and certified NOOB
Use root explorer move your downloaded apk to system / app and set permission as r-w-r-r--.
Before that clear data of your previously installed YouTube.

Hi there, sorry if this has been covered but I couldn't find too much about the problem. I am also new with this for the most part.
The other day I restored my N7 from PA back to stock to rule out a YouTube buffering problem (and turns out that didn't work, still same issue regardless). I decided to go back to PA 2.54 and while everything works, I can't save images from chrome into the downloads folder nor can I delete folders.
Do I have to reroot again? Assuming yes but if there are additional processes I have to go through please let me know.
Also, is there any fix available for my youtube problem? Thanks in advance.
Okay, so I rerooted and I was able to save the image I wanted finally. However, I still cannot delete files, specifically in the sdcard/ folder. There is a folder called "downloadttt" (I renamed it this purposely for testing purposes). There is one file in there (PA 2.54.zip) and it refuses to delete, same as the "downloadttt" folder.

You need to delete knox related files.
i m trying to do that
yeah, as i said, i cant delete them. when i delete them, they pop up again, and i use root explorer as recommended in the thread i have linked in my post
There is no thread found at that link. 404 Page Not Found.
Also, the stock rom has an apk that installs deleted system apps at every boot. So that's why they might popup again.
Delete that apk and it won't install deleted apps at every boot.

thanks but deleting the knos files did help, used a another explorer app to delete the knox files
So here is my issue,
I installed the app GPSJoystick, it worked fine, but (stupidly) I decided to update the app. It's not a root app but it has some additional functions when installed as system app. In order to do that, I used a Magisk module called App Systemizer (terminal emulator). It worked, but the app was not performing the way I wanted it to so I decided to uninstall the app and revert to the older version.
Here is my issue, I uninstall the app but there are empty folders remaining in the system/priv-app folder, and no matter what I try, I cannot delete them. I tried to use a root explorer app (several of them) but it didn't work. I tried to use the TWRP file manager, but the folders are not (for some reason) visible to it. I also tried to use adb shell but to no avail.
It's not really breaking anything, it's just annoying. The only app that doesn't work is the GPSJoystick app. I think it's because of the remaining files. Is there a way to manually delete all of the remaining files and folders? I know where they are, but simply cannot delete them.
Can anyone advise and help?
To summarise, I have 2 folders in system/priv-app that I can't delete, and need help with that.
Thank you!
EDIT:
I forgot to mention:
I'm on 9.0.12, stock recovery, rooted with Magisk 18.1
In TWRP, did you ensure to mount system before?

Yes. I can see all other folders but not the ones I want to delete.

Hmm, it may not be in the usual system/system/priv-app folder since a Magisk module systemized it. You might need to play around in some Magisk folders in the root section of your phone. Just a suggestion, I could be wrong.
Now, you see, that's why I love XDA.
I tried everything but to look at the Magisk module. So I tried uninstalling the module, and what do you know, the folders are gone. I couldn't see them in TWRP because the module was not loading then, and I could not delete it while in system because they were in use by the module.
So thank you very much, the "issue" is resolved!
Thanks again!
Hi All,
I have a bit of a strange scenarion regarding my rooted tablet. Having rooted it successfully, when I try and uninstall system apps via a 3rd party app, the uninstall always fails. If I manually delete the app apk file from the system\app folder that works. I know I can use the latter method but, using an uninstaller is convenient as it's easier to identify the apps and also backups them up as part of the process.
Would anyone have any idea as to why the root uninstallers won't work?
Thanks
were you able to fix it?
Do you know if there is any custom rom for the tablet?
