Hi
Quick question I remember on my s7 I had a lot of services and apps that I didn't need disabled using package disabler Pro I found the list on a thread in the s7 xda forums. Anyone have a list of the s8 that can safely be disabled?
Thanks

There's a thread somewhere in the s8 forums that everyone was posting their own safe lists, can't rember where though. But PD marks the ones pink that are usually safe to disable

Hi All,
Im a noob. But my dilemma is since I opted to install the ota update that popped up when I got my Note 4. I am now unable to uninstall Instagram. All i can do is disable it. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Yes.
Instagramm is pre-installed (system app) and can't removed without root.
Just disabling works

Disabling it is really almost just as good as uninstalling it. My problem is with Evernote, I can't even disable that one. I really hate that program, and if anything will make me root it would be to get rid of evercrap.
Thank you guys for the help. The Note 4 is taking me some time to adjust to. I'm coming from the Note 3, I thought the transition would be a lot smoother. I like to use themes for my facebook, twitter and instagram- making it a bit more feminine but I don't know if it's possible since instagram is now a stock application. Sheesh!!

The app being installed on system shouldn't affect themes or anything? The app can still be modified and updated, just not uninstalled.
How disabling the app helps?
If you disable notifications and syncing in the app, why disable the app?

Oh okay that's really all I wanted to do was add a theme to make it look cute. Thank you!

I have every possible app disabled at this point, however you can't download and install a new or custom version of IG I've tried at least 5 diff times ... :\ I'm going to end up rooting to unog my bloatware I suppose. If you figure it out let me know.
Inspired from the Note 5 thread, install the app Package Disabler Pro from the play store and post your experience and configuration.
No Root needed!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=62458292
Please share your
- de- bloated apps, show xml or a list
- battery life improvements
- other experience
Andi
I gust buy it from playstore and i used the disable all bloatware option except facebook ,one drive,s health and smart management.
Ram usage at startup 72% and a lot smoother ui experience i think.
Here is my configuration.
Only disabled unneeded apps.

Battery life seems quite good.
I can confirm that my phone never before was so smooth!
Great!!!!!!
I need to do this. I am lucky to get 3hr 30 out of the phone on full battery nevermind on 50%!

It doesn't flash anything, or even require root, so it shouldn't.
your Knox status should be intact.
Thanks for the comments.

I will make a list of my own and I will post it here. In the meantime I am testing ...
uninstalled useless make phone even more lag and still high ram usage after update they removed knox from list one word crap
Wish I hadn't paid for this app. No battery improvement from my side
I have at least twice battery life than before and no lag at all.
Do we need to reboot S6 edge after Package disabling?
Have disabled: Flipboard, One Note, Google Drive, Words, all service from Google. Only play Store and Play Services and Play framework are enabled.

Anyone got a list of system apps we can safely disable?
Just disable all of the AT&T stuff. I haven't had any issues.

No problem.
For what it's worth: After I disabled these I booted to Recovery and wiped the cache partition.
It was stuttering and laggy for the day, but after updating everything and a couple of reboots things have seemed to settle in nicely. Good luck!

Here is my Updated disabled. I had an issues with enhanced audio set up because of a package I had disabled. Also, I dot use Android Pay, Gear Stuff or VR stuff. https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ajwyu5YpXo8VnyywF6caYaVEc3nL

Which package specifically was the problem with enhanced audio. Want to check and see if I have that one disabled.

It was either AudioConnectionService or SapaMonitor.
You can tell if you go:
Settings>Sounds>Sound Quality and Effects>Adapt Sound.
If adapt sound opens up then you are good. If adapt sound doesn't open after you tap on it, then you would need to re-enable one of the above. Sorry I don't remember exactly which one it was. But, its one of those. I actually have them both enabled with no change in performace or battery life btw.
Let me know if you need more help.

This is mine. I'm not being very aggressive with disabling things, I use a gear watch, file sharing, etc, so...
I read that the ATT Nougat update contains Carrier IQ. Can anyone confirm and if so tell me how to disable.

Yes it does. You can use BK package disabler from play store to disable.
Clicking from the Edge of Galaxy
There isn't a way to do it right now unless rooted

Is it? I downloaded one of those carrier IQ scanners and it said it wasn't found. Unless they've changed the package names. But when I was disabling a bunch of stuff with Package Disabled Pro I didn't see any of it. I used to disable it on all my old smartphones.

It's a service in android system. Package disabler pro won't work to disable it because it doesn't seem to get into the submenus. BK package disabler in the app store does though. In BK goto system>android system>services and you will find carrieriq plain as day, just toggle it off.

Thank you so much for this information. I've been searching for hours for a non-root solution. This is it!
Hey guys, i was wondering if some of you may know what systems apps that are draining precious battery life are safe to hibernate using greenify ? Thanks
Get package disabler, I am not sure how accurate or how current the database is but it's able to tell you what bloatware is safe to block.
The best thing is there isn't a root requirement it requires enabling usb debugging, clearing accounts and using ADB sideload to give the program permission to disable services but it is a pretty fantastic app.
