Hi everyone,
Do you know if it's possible to install the US996 variant ROMS into the H918? (perhaps tweak the US996 variant ROM to have H918 drivers) so that we don't brick it.
(BTW, I tried it with desolation rom US996, but it only resulted in a screen bootloop) (ON/OFF bootloop)
That's why I'm asking.
reverted back to stock using the LGUP method.
Thanks!
I'd like to know this too.
Thanks!
I'm guessing no one knows the answer?
What I do know is that you must never flash a complete firmware or bootloader from any other variant.
Only H918 firmware for H918.
But if you can use system partition from another, IDK. Presumably there would be some problems with this, considering the developers make separate versions and your own failure.

If i were to get a LG v20, which version should i buy if i am concerned with rooting, bootloader unlocking, and roms and such?
The at&t variant is the one that can be rooted on all the software versions the company has released thus far. This might change though in any future updates the company releases. The rest can also be rooted, but only up to certain software versions (mostly those released prior to mid-2017, for the T-Mobile variant, updating to H91810P and beyond means you can't root, yet).
The factory unlocked US996 (not to be confused with the us cellular us996) is the only one that LG provides an official means to unlock the bootloader which is a key part of rooting and installing custom ROMs. The others must rollback to an old version (which isn't possible on recent Sprint and T-Mobile firmware but the framework is there for any carrier to stop it) to root/install a custom ROM. Besides that both x86cpu (main maintainer of LineageOS for the V20) and myself ( I fell into maintaining TWRP for the V20) have the US996.
I recently bought a used H910 AT&T from ebay running 10m
Had to downgrade to unlock bootloader and install TWRP but working like a charm...
is the us996 model the same one as the t-mobile version? is there a way to tell which us996 is which?
Hi, sorry for asking this if it sounds dumb but i am not good in rooting and custom rom stuff i just use stock rom. Recently I also bought h910 and it has some issues regarding the os. How to know that i need to downgrade the android to unlock boot loader for installation of twrp? Can you help me?
I am also having this issue which i posted in xda, may be you are aware of it.

As far as i check and know there is only one us996 model and that's the us cellular variant
@runningnak3d has recently developed a method to root T-Mobile H918. (main thread here)
Several members have reported successfull root, and it appears the method is successful on many other V20 models (even other LG phones) as well.
Hello everyone! I need the help of this community to try to overcome a doubt that plagues me.
I am a happy user of a LG V20 from VERIZON, however I am using it in Portugal. The only problem I found was the lack of APN, which I solved with the manual configuration. With regular use, I noticed that this equipment has a great deficit in network capture.
This way I ask for your help here. My equipment being a VERIZON equipment, VS995.
Can I install a ROM from other devices? Namely H990DS, H918, H910, US996, LS997.
If so, what guarantees better network coverage? Which one has the least trash from the operator?
I run the risk of having the phone locked if I change ROM?
Thanks and see you all soon.
I can only tell you that if you flash the H918 firmware, you will brick your phone. The H999DS just won't work. The others .. flash then and try. Make sure what you flash is ARB 0 since the VS995 is still ARB 0, and if what you flash doesn't work, you need to be able to flash the VS995 KDZ back .. can't do that if you have flashed firmware with a higher ARB.

Hi guys, My question is simple. How can I convert an LS997 (in ZVA version) to any other variant?
The real pourpose is get it unlocked, but I heard that other phones had success.
Thanks

First this should be posted in the questions and answers section. Secondly there's numerous threads related to root. You should use the search function and do some reading
Sent from my LG-H910 using XDA Labs
ZVA is ARB 2, there is no other V20 that is ARB 2 -- you can't flash the firmware from any other model right now.

Yes basically Sprint and LG don't want us messing with their V20. After LS997 V20 ZV8 the ARB is raised to 2, ZV7 is the latest that can be changed to a VS995 and rooted. It can't be rooted now, but hopefully laf exploits, kdz exploits, and LGUP exploits will allow us to flash anything (promising).

Will be nice to root this phone in hight versions, for people like me who need to get unlocked.
Dunno if this helps, but I just bought an LS997 that had been flashed with US996 software... and it works fine... (except idk about root and bootloader unlocking)
I am tired or fighting with AT&T over getting the Oreo update, and the H910 being the only V20 that the carrier doesn't allow OEM support for... What is the difference on the hardware between the H910 and the H915? I am having difficulty finding specs online for the H915, for instance it is not listed on the GSM arena website: But from what I can find out, they have the same radio and encryption keys, and therefore are able to be mutually flashed in either direction... I have seen rooting tools that recommend flashing the H910 with an H915 rom to install custom recovery, then use the custom recovery to install stock H910 with root... But has anyone just left their H910 with an H915 rom? I want to finally have KDZ support for this phone if possible...
Your help and answers are greatly appreciated...

Yes you can using the patched LGUP
As the title says, has anyone tried to install F800 firmware on an H910 using modded LGUP?
I'm no expert or anything, but as far as i know, an H910 can accept many kinds of firmware, I'm just not sure about F800, i don't want to risk my phone being permanently bricked for trying without making sure
