As fast as my S8.
Very fast. No slowdowns at all.
Is anyone experiencing any lag?
I also have some ram issues. Went from browser to Snapchat and both apps had to completely reload. It seems to be happening more and more. I do have a pixel 2 wallpaper set...

No lag/reload/ram issues here. I average 2.4/2.7GB, and apps are pretty snappy to load.
If you're mentioning the Pixel 2 wallpaper, try removing it and see if that makes a difference?

Yeah I think it was def the live wallpaper. I reset to a regular static one and performance seemed to pick up a little. However, I still think there might be some ram issues.

3GB is just fine IMO. I haven't seen any slowdowns whatsoever. I'm using 2.1 out of 2.7 GB.
My old 2GB 5x was a bit cramped, but the 3GB in the x4 is great.
4 gb model. 70 apps installed. 1.4gb free ram. Moves pretty fluid without any lags etc.

Device is incredibly smooth. It seems like 60 fps in nearly all applications I've went through so far.
The only good phones I've ever used before this have been U11, View10 and that's it.
Scrolling is head and shoulders above them.
Literally smooooooth AF
Facing the scroll and touch issue
Sometimes scrolling is laggy, sometimes it stutters, sometimes it moves too fast when i scrolled it slowly.
Scrolling has been choppy since day 1 for me. There is small microstutter.

Yup. The problem is, not everyone can see that. For instance, I said in an article that the Play Store (one example) is jittery/stuttery when scrolling up/down in pretty much every 'corner of the app. People thought I was trolling. And my eyes perceive those stutters as relatively obvious ones. I don't understand how people can't see that. Then there's Twitter. If people can't see that Twitter stutters like crazy, then I don't know what else to say. I don't think the OP6 is smoother than the Pixel 2XL, even though that one's a generation behind. Imagine how good the Pixel 3 is gonna be.

Yeah. Most people probably don't notice it, but my eyes are very sensitive to it. I game on a 165 Hz G-sync monitor and I still notice microstutter at high frame rates lol. I wonder how havoc os or lineage os is? Maybe it's just the OS and not the device causing it.

Of course the device is not the cause. It's the software that facilitates the appearance of these jitters/stutters. It's all about optimization.
I only got one issue with stuttering. That was on day one, when camera application stuttered and crashed. After that everything went fine. That probably because I had two camera apps. One of device and one installed from Play Store.

Same here with the 165hz gsync and very sensitive eyes.. Thus far I haven't noticed any stutters on the device yet been using Instagram, telegram and chrome but nothing so far on latest update.
If I compare my s7 edge that was just a nightmare of stutters.
Yup I get stuttering here, similar to my 3 back in the day. I wonder if tweaking the cpu governor has the same effects as it did on my 3. There is no "conservative" selection anymore.
O notice in some apps now. Not in chrome or Samsung browser (use it for better battery for some reason..)
But apps like Instagram (when loading pictures)
And also play store (most likely loading something too)
I'm thinking it's more about poorly designed apps rather that the device itself.
It seems that scrolling smoothness took a hit after the Pie update, many apps (including chrome) seem to stutter a lot for me.

Absolutely true. I just couldn't take it anymore and decided to install the latest Open Beta build, considering that Beta 3 was pretty smooth overall. And yes, Beta 4 is smoother than stable Pie. I don't get how the initial stable Pie build managed to make it to the masses in such a state. For the past few days, the experience on my phone was utter s#!t. I'll stay on Open Beta until things get better on 'stable Pie.
Is there scroll stutter on pie-based LOS and Havoc OS or is it limited to OOS only?

Same here... spontaneous framedrops/stutter whiles scrolling, very annoying. Beta3 felt a lot smoother to me!
Every second day have to reboot phone into recovery to wipe cache. Reason being, I'm completely unable to type anything correctly when entering text.
Recent apps lag
Hello everyone,
I'm experiencing some stutter and lags with my One Plus 6. For exempe, if I scroll quickly trough the recent apps in the multitask, I can see some frame drops and it's very annoying. I don't understand why...It should work extremely fluessly with a Snapdragon 845. Are some people having the same issue here ?
Thank you so much !
The only way I've found of stopping the stuttering and poor scrolling is for to go to developer options and set the background process limit to "at most, 4 process"

I to have this problem. Scrolling would be smooth then suddenly the frames drop for a short time. This happens randomly. :/

The RAM management is pretty aggressive. For some odd reason, I have less than 700MB free off of a fresh reboot. While someone may say that free ram is wasted ram, but I barely have ANY RAM, even with no apps running.
This does affect multitasking, because my apps and games close as soon as I leave to reply to a text or WhatsApp message. Not happy about that.
i have also noticed high RAM usage. i have seen this before with samsung devices. the system seems to use more RAM when there is more available. i haven't really noticed any slowdowns because of it, though. system seems to handle it just fine.

Not slowdowns, but app restarts when they rely shouldn't happen. I'm talking receive a text, leave my game by opening the app from the notification shade, and returning to the game to see it restart.
Not cool.
Same on my G7. It shut down chrome a couple times per day. On Note 8 it works with Samsung Internet for a days without reload.
I noticed when putting a game I play alot under battery exclusions it doesn't randomly close fast now. So if you go to the info of the app and scroll down to the bottom and go to battery exclusions and check that app it may work

Yes the phone performs well and good.
Smoothest Android experience I've ever had yet and I used Huawei EMUI 8 before, which is also extremeley smooth.
Stock Android doesn't run as smooth as EMUI or ONE UI do.
Only iOS runs smoother, but I thinks it's also the touch implementaion into iOS, not only optimized software.
I had an S7 as a work phone until last year and this was so terrible to work with. It lagged everywhere. Samsung made a huge effort with One UI.
The only time I've noticed some stutter is the odd time when swiping down the notification shade on the lock screen. Even then, it's been very rare.
S10 scrolling is okay, iOS still has the great scrolling experience I've had. I hope Android or maybe Samsung can mimic that scrolling behavior.
I used an iPhone X before and with my new S10 the scrolling feels really strange. I also tested it on a S9 of a fried and there it is the same.
It definetily is really smooth, but if you flick scroll for example in Instagram and you want to stop scrolling with tap-holding the screen again, then there is a small delay. Also the scroll speed is very strange in my opinion. Does somebody have the same issue?
The scrolling on my iPhone X definetily feels more natural.
Does somebody also noticed a small stutter when scrolling through the YouTube feed? Same with reddit.
Yes! I did, but on a 10e and only sometimes. Its the same in Nova App Drawer and Whatsapp for instance.
Maybe I'm tripping and also I've read that now every app uses gpu to draw 2D but maybe you should tell me your experience with this option enabled in devs options.

I'm so glad I found this thread. This problem is driving me nuts.
On Verizon S10.
Mine is doing fine. I think the reason is more ram compared to the samsung S8 I had. More ram maybe indicates we see few years of updates for the S10.
Mine is choppy and laggy. Also kinda freezes sometimes too. I synced data from my s8 when I got it so will try a fresh install not synced

Ironically exynos isnmuch more optimised as its samsung home grown chipset ; look at snapdragon counter part it laggs much more but its much better at battery !
Problem with exynos is bad battery life and overheating issue !

Hello!
I'm very interested in this phone but i need someone who has it to tell me how it handles background processes. I previously bought a phone with big issues in this regard and it is a huge pain in the...
Could you please tell me how s10 Lite handles background activity so far?
I'm especially interested if someone could run this test for me and report the results: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid.dontkillmyapp
But I would also love to know how was your experience with background apps and widgets so far. Have you guys tried using widgets installed manually, like from the Play Store? Do clock/weather/email widgets have any trouble updating their information or becoming unresponsive after a while? Did you have any trouble with notifications from apps being shown when the phone is in sleep mode or the app wasn't used in a long time? Does it handle multitasking between apps well? How many apps can you comfortably multitask before it starts killing?

Looks good, did you apply any permissions/disabled battery optimization or is it how it came out stock?
Could you run it overnight please? I noticed it's when most of the app killing happens.
I think battery optimization is stock, don't remember changing it.

I'm facing an issue when trying to switch between apps on my device. The software stutters big time and it's terrible. Very smooth to swipe out of an app but when I wanna jump between my open apps, it stutters.
Anyone else facing this issue?
Also notices that some US & European reviews show Facial Unlock as an option, not on mine (no where to be found).
And yes, I have the latest available software for the phone.

For some reason, in my third day (today), 5+the stuttering has decreased significantly.
I must have toyed with something in the settings that had helped.
As for the Face Unlock, I'm sure I've seen videos of that feature being an option.

I've been experienceing the same issue. The issue seems to get worse when my phone is charging too for some reason. I turned off full screen mode for all apps but still have the stuttering.
UPDATE: I fixed the issue. Turns out it was my password manager app that was causing the lag. Try uninstalling if you have one on your device and see if that helps.
