Galaxy Essentials widget for Samsung S5 900I - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post in this forum, my apologies if I posted in the wrong thread.
Does anyone know how to install the new Samsung Galaxy Essential Widget for the Samsung S5 900i?
By new widget, I mean the widget in 4x1 format recommending apps with redirection to the app page. My existing widget is not dynamic as the one recently updated in S7. For more details I have attached the two screenshots for each version.
I've tried to install the new launcher without success, also I'm not quite sure which App services this belongs to. Many thanks in advance

[Q] How to get the S3s accuweather live wallpaper on the S4?

Just was wondering, aside from just titanium backup ripping from the S3 and "hoping" a system app works on the S4 (Something im leary of testing since I read atm no real way to restore MF3) was wondering if anyone had the accuweather live wallpaper with the weather and windmills? I saw a couple threads but the dropbox link is invalid now. Thanks.

[Q] Question. galaxy Essentials

Can anybody point me in the right direction. My wife's note 3 does not have Galaxy essentials installed. It's the verizon sm-n900v model. I need it to update sns provider. It's for Facebook one tap login. If anyone can gimme an apk or somehow add the widget that would be highly appreciated. I contacted samsung support and they couldn't do anything. They said galaxy essentials is only for Samsung s5 and newer devices. I cannot update sns provider without the essentials widget. Thanks in advance.
Fixed it. I ripped the apk from my t mobile note 4 using apk extractor From the play store and installed it on her note 3. Worked like a charm. Yet one tap fb still does not work. O well.

Marshmallow Duplicate Permissions

I just upgraded from a HTC M8 w/ Lollipop to the S7.
On my M8 I was running Astrid 4.6.5 installed from the .apk and Agenda Widget Plus. I know they're both OLD apps, but it's how I'm productive. However, upgrading to the S7 I cannot install both at the same time, it's one or the other.
Using ADB, I see that the issue is duplicate permission (attached). I don't think I can remove the permission, because Agenda Widget does have to read the tasks from Astrid, so I'm stuck.
Any thoughts?

Click to collapse
I also learned that I get the same error if I try to install Tasks: Astrid To-Do List Clone from the play store.

[Q] help installing old weather app/ two versions of the same app at the same time

ive recently got an S7 edge and im in the process of setting it up as i like it... ive had a galaxy alpha for 2 years and ive got the samsung weather app widget installed. the new samsung weather app doesnt appear to have the animated background like the old one. its just transparant and frankly boring lol.
i tried to install the old app on the s7 (its called AccuweatherPhone2014_s_lmr_HD its the same as the S5 weather app too) but of course that would be too easy. it fails and says "the package conflicts with an existing package by the same name".. i cant uninstall the new version and i cant seem to disable it either.
is there a way to install the old app? i figured that changing the packageID might do it. i tried APKeditor pro and also apk cloner. neither seemed to work. but im no expert with APKs.
any suggestions as to what i can do?
You can try to install the package disabler or the package disabler pro version for samsung devices, and then try to unable the package of the new version of accuwither app and then try to install the old one.
If that's not working you can root your phone and then you will be able to do with it almost anything u want.
Or u can flash a custom ROM and download the app you want
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge using XDA Labs
didnt want to root the phone as i use the sky app at lot and that doesnt work with rooted phones as far as i know.
in the end i tried a few other weather apps.. one was called weather live and that was really good. i liked it enough that i ended up upgrading quite soon after (for a whole 50p lol) and its just as good, maybe slightly better than the other one.. it even displays information in the AOD which the other app didnt do.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) - Google Now/Pixel Launcher Side-panel Problem

Hello.
I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) and I use the Google Now Launcher. I rely on having the google app to the left of the main home screen for notifications about traffic, weather and news. I like having it there a lot. Today I noticed that it was no longer accessible from there.
I looked this up and it sounds like Google plan to discontinue the Google Now Launcher and replace it with the "Pixel Launcher". But naturally, my device is not supported by this new app.
I downloaded and installed this, and it seems like the Pixel Launcher (or something similar to it, nearly identical) works on my device now. It was very convenient to have because I do not want to Root my phone.
At first the side-panel Google app worked with this (bootleg?) Pixel Launcher, but after I was done customizing my home screens it stopped working. I checked all the options like "Google app to the left of main screen" and such things, and they didn't change anything. It only started working again when I re-booted the phone.
My question is: what made it stop? Can I still get the Google side-panel to open on the original Now launcher (with which I am more used)? I like the Pixel launcher but I prefer to use officially-supported apps so I can get updates for them, and I don't believe the one I downloaded (from the link above) will get any updates.
Any help would be appreciated.
Just downgrade to the old Google Now Launcher
