Hello everyone!
I have a problem with the Gallery app: I copied all the content of the SD card to a larger card and now the gallery app shows me the wrong date for some photos. Only a few random pictures.
I checked with another app that reads the data exiff and with this app the dates are correct. I copied the contents of the old sd onto a folder to Windows and then copied it to the new one.
How can I fix these dates?
I have exactly the same with one picture. It show a date of 19-Jan-2038. It was a picture that I cropped, maybe thats why.

Yup, still use this SD card in my wee canon camera... not rich enough for a 2 or 4gb dedicated SD yet!

Yes, tried googling it, found zilch...
Yes, it's probably the existence of the DCIM folder that triggers this event.
I just did a cursory check, and there doesn't seem to be a setting for this under the standard Pictures & Videos app.
Deleting or renaming this folder will stop this message popping up
Do you have any third party application installed related to viewing pictures like SPB Imageer or Resco Viewer?

Using Resco Viewer, but still get the message popping up after even a hard reset...
Hi, why does the photo viewer on the touchflo cube only see pictures stored on the phone memory and not the memory card. I cannot see a way to change this in settings, am I missing something?
My Niki is a T-Mobile UK flavour.

Create a folder called DCIM on your memory card and put your pictures in there.
i did this and still not showing

Take a picture with the camera, and make sure it stores your pictures on your memory card. Put your other pics wherever your newly taken pic ends up.
So I have searched the forums multiple times and didn't find a solution to this problem. Whenever I take a picture with the camera and have it set save to card it saves it to card then 2 seconds later the picture cannot be found on the card at all. Everything else on the card can be found on the card like music, ect. I have used the SD fix but am still having this issue. Please help. Thanks.
What card are you using? The original or one bought on ie. ebay?
I am using a new 8gb one and everytime a take a picture the photo only stays on the card for a moment then dissapears.

Apply sdcard fix.
Small tips
Use the filemanager and delete the DCIM folder. The camera recreates the folder and you'll be able to save photos to card again.

X2 does alot of things, and none of them especially good. This i camera/sd card is a problem that i've seen on a number of X2 phones.
My gallery app has a horrible tendency of creating folders that definitely don't exist on my internal memory.
I have at least 20 folders simply named things like:
1
10
11
12
15
18
This has been going on for a while now, but it's never REALLY bothered me until now. Any idea how to fix it?
This happens to me sometimes. I think they are thumbnails from the web or some other source.

I agree ^
One of your apps might be creating folders, to name a few examples Heroes of Sparta creates a folder with a new video. NFS downloads a whole bunch of music, Bestube downloads a lot of pictures (useless), etc. So it might not be the gallery but a third party app.
It's not any of my apps.
The pictures in that folder are pictures I've taken with my camera or downloaded from people who have texted them to me. They just appear as duplicates in the gallery, even though when I look at the files on the memory stick and phone, they only exist once in the Camera/Downloads folder.
Edit: Some of these pictures SHOULD be in my downloads folder because I saved them from an MMS but aren't.
I can't seem to find the folder they're actually stored IN, though...
You can try backing up the files you know you want to keep, format the internal sd through the phone, then restore your files. That should remove any dupes on your sd. You may want to do the same with the external sd as well.

That's a great idea, thanks!
Before I do that though, there are pictures that SHOULD be in the downloads folder, but are in those weird folders. However, I can't find those anywhere with any file managers. Any idea how to find those pictures and move them to the downloads folder?

That I don't have a clue, I'm ocd about my files, they get put where I need them as soon as they hit my phone. If you're seeing them in the gallery, they have to be stored somewhere, sorry I can't offer any advice on that part.

When I transfer my pictures from my old phone to the internal storage of the Nexus 4 all of the "Date Taken" info is erased resulting in scrambled pictures in my gallery. When I scroll through them with the bar on the right it shows that the pictures were all taken at the same day.
A little more info, I am going from a sensation with an SD card that has all of my pictures on them. When I simply transfer the DCIM folder to the root of the nexus storage the dates are lost.
Is there a work around for this?
all mine are in tact... I transferred my pics to my computer from my One X and then transferred from the computer to my Nexus 4. I can even sort by date in the gallery and all that info is correct... not sure what is going on to be honest or how to fix... but I just wanted to report that all looks normal on my end.
EDIT: here's screenshot FWIW.

THanks for the response. A little more info to clear up the specific problem.

The attached file shows dates ranging from april 2010 to nov 2012. Makes no sense.

hmmm. interesting. I wonder if they got lost going to the SD card or maybe the phone just behaved differently than my One X. FWIW, I put my pics in /sdcard/DCIM/Camera
Good luck, not sure how to help out!
