CHANGE LOG
3 September 2017
Added CP from AQG1 & CSC from AQG1 to "Apply AQG1 firmware" section
7 September 2017
Baseband fix: Made OTA system update only & created AQGL CP
8 September 2017
Fixed CP & CSC file rename md5 errors
FAQ
If I'm on G955U1UEU1AQG2, can I go straight to OTA for G955USQU1AQGL?
Yes, but everything won't update correctly. Like the modem patch won't apply, unless you're already running the AQG1 modem for instance.
Try flashing CP from AQG1 & CSC from AQG1 in the "Apply AQG1 firmware" section with Odin, before applying the OTA.

I just need to do one version of your two step before applying the AQGL OTA , right ?.
---------- Post added at 11:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:22 PM ----------
If i do this :-
Version 2: Current SamPWND Part 2 summary:
1 - Download AQG1 system.img.ext4. extract it and copy it to your phone.
2 - The CSC SYSTEMROOT process is the same as SamPWND part 2 instructions, except you're using the system.img.ext4 from step 1 above.
I would then do this right ? :-
3) Place the entire Add CSC Systemroot zip onto Internal or Externdal SD Card (THIS FILE DOES NOT NEED TO BE UNZIPPED, THROW THE WHOLE ZIP FILE ONTO SD CARD OR INTERNAL)
4) Open Flashfire and grant it root when it prompts you.
5) Press the + sign and select "Flash Firmware Package" & navigate to where you placed the system.img.ext4 and select it
6) Press the + sign and select "Flash ZIP or OTA" & navigate to where you placed the Add CSC Systemroot zip and select it, select Mount System as r/w
7) Press the + sign and select "Wipe" and select System data, 3rd party apps, Dalvik cache, Cache partiton, Cache Partiton format
8) Now, long press on "Wipe" and make sure it is on the top by dragging it. The order should be Wipe, Flash Firmware Package & finally Flash ZIP or OTA
9) Make sure the "Everoot" is disabled!
10) Flash away!

Worked like a Charm, thanks.
Just to be clear..if I'm already rooted (not on QG1 Firmware), 1st, in flashfire, flash qg1 system.img, then pre packed cscroot zip from sampwnd pt2, then the qgl zip ota? (I'll add wipe also). Do I do this in 1 Flashfire session or boot up after cscroot zip then flash the OTA zip?
I wont be able to attempt this until the weekend but, to my knowledge there isnt an AQG2 (there is lol). I can still run the process the same? If i have to start from scratch, that wont be bad either

Right, you need to go to AQG1, before you can OTA to AQGL.
If you're doing the current part 2 process, it's the same steps & same files as SamPWND part 2, except you're using the AQG1 system.img.ext4 (linked in my thread)
Code:
1) Download the PART 2 FILES listed below (this includes the system.img.ext4 and the add CSC Systemroot zip both provided courtesy of @[url=https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1949695]jrkruse[/url]*, view post #195 for specifics on what these are but essentially they are stock QD2 system.img and the zip has multi CSC, root, and a bunch of other goodies!)
2) Extract the System.img.ext4 zip and place that actual "system.img.ext4" onto the Internal SD Card (might work from external but some users have reported issues with chainfires root.zip and FF with external sd cards, this is not a fault of the SamPWND files/process.)

8) Now, long press on "Wipe" and make sure it is on the top by dragging it. The order should be Wipe, Flash Firmware Package & finally Flash ZIP or OTA
9) Make sure the "Everoot" is disabled!
10) Flash away!

nm, it's on July.
G955U1UEU1AQG2 is for The SM-G955U1 (network unlocked version). So applying the OTA directly should work, but I can't make any guarantees that your system will come out the same as going from G955USQS1AQG1 to G955USQU1AQGL.
Has the battery issue been resolved? Doea it go all the way to 100% or does it stay at 80%

No i don't have soundhound install. If i remember i think it has something to do with a specific Carrier which wasn't AT&T.

Did some more research. looks like it's the icon for the enhanced lte service. There's a setting for enhanced lte service that you can turn off.
if you search lte in settings, you'll find it.

1) download jellyblast + 4 OTA + CWM
2) open jellyblast zip ed delete "boot.img"
3) copy rom + 4 ota + CWM inside SD
4) reboot in recovery mode (vol up + home + power) and select CWM.zip
5) Backup your rom via CWM (backup and restore) [REQUIRED STEP! This take some time but you can restore previous rom and all you had before (apps, calls... everithing) in case of problems!]
6) Run " wipe data/factory reset" and " wipe cache partition" ("wipe data/factory reset" delete everithing from your device!)
7) Run "install zip from sdcard" > "choose zip"
8) Select jellyblast rom > "yes"
9) Than "reboot system now"
For ota:
1) Reboot in recovery mode (no need flash CWM again...)
2)Select "apply update"
4) choose first OTA
5) reboot
6) same for other ota (pass 1 to 5)
Install OTA update in number order (OTA 1, OTA 2...)
(Thanks to Roby293)
I tried this steps yesterday.
Full working for me, the rom is very smooth & fast.
Just some force stop to Phone process and PIN Dial pad not working.
Some people say fix this flashing "modem" & "csc" via ODIN.
But i'm not really sure.
Sorry for delay. Hope this help someone else.
Thanks

I'm having the same problem, and another ones... the customized keys (1 and 2), Backspace and Enter keys doesn't work, the camera can't be used in 3.15MP and most of apps doesn't install, just keep saying "downloading"
for problem with device/hardware keyboard, please copy keylayout and keychars from your stock rom into jellyblast (System/Usr)
dont delete the existing folder in jellyblast, just replace the existing files. the flash the modded jellybean rom again.
your keyboard will be working, overall keyboard function is ok, but i cant get symbol button working yet..
im using this, almost perfect but phone application looks bad because of the landscape view of our phone.
for camera, you can replace it with camera.apk from your stock rom. (system/app folder)
update: just wanna share, cant copy camera from stock rom, becuase stock is odexed. so, to get 3.2mp camera working, i downloaded ported jellyblast rom for galaxy mini pop plus, extracted it,copy camera.apk from system/apps and install on your phone.
suuchi, for 'apps doesnt install' problem, u need to remove a2sd or disable it before flashing the rom.
found today out position sensor not working properly..horizontal calibration wont help
update: got it working already, need to copy sensor file system/bin and system/lib folder from stock rom.

im not sure which sensor file that responsible for screen position, so i just copied all sensor related file ..hehe...
the files are
system/bin
- atx
-memsicd
system/lib
-libacc.so
-libsensorservice.so
-libaccsensorcal.so
-libaccelcal.so
-libaccsensorcaltest.so
what i did was, using the root explorer (setting - mount / and /system as writable is checked) delete all the existing sensor file, then copy paste, because the explorer cannot replace the existing files.
then i set the permission back..to enable 'read write exec' for all user group...
then restart the phone..
you will notice horizontal calibration app wont show the correct position (maybe you need to replace horizontal calibration app also), but your sensor is working by using sensor diagnostic (dial *#0*#)
bro do have any solution for dialer/phone app not displayed correctly?

Wondering if a clockwork back up could get me back the kernel?
zip not opening
brothers whenever i try to install zip fro cwm , it gives error like zip opening failed.
i hv installed the zip package of jelly blast without deleting boot.img nd it didnt give any error while opening zip but after installation i was facing half screen error.
so i m assuming that when i delete boot.img nd re zip the file at that point i m doing some mistake.
is thr some specific zip format or compression ratio which i should have to consider while zipping it?

When you download the Rom zip do not unzip it... Open the rom zip in winrar or 7zip and then delete the boot.img file from the compressed zp

yes you can. if you have backup your stock rom using cmw, you know the combination key to recovery? press vol up + home + power on
then select update zip from sdcard, select cmw.zip -> restore
or you can take out your sdcard copy the correct jellyblast zip, with deleted boot.img. reflash again, bro make sure you have disable/removed a2sd for smooth installation
This is for the Samsung S8+ (G955F) version only.
There’s a lot of misinformation out there regarding how to install the new Beta 2 for Oreo for Samsung S8+.
I thought I would put this guide out there as this was the easiest I found and the bonus is that you keep your data and just upgrade over the top.
All credit to jaron vdb from Telegram. This is his backup and he has given me permission to use it. He is the brains – I am just good at writing easy to use guides!
Pre-requisite:
-you need to have a working TWRP
-you need an external sd card
Steps:
1. Get into TWRP and backup your current rom to your external SD card. We will need this later to restore the data and importantly: if things go wrong you can always restore back again to what you have now.
Once it has been backed up you will have a folder on your external sd card that looks something like this:
Name of your External SD card/TWRP/BACKUPS/ce04873839487e8383/[the name of the file you just backed up in step 1]
2. Download this file and save it to your External SD CARD:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1skCkpxUChw4rwxR7IBctSWhfkvJmQmqL
This is your TWRP restore file kindly provided by jaron vdb.
3. Once you have downloaded that file then you will need to unzip this file. Use something like 7zip from Playstore and extract that file you downloaded to this location you just created with Step 1 – something like:
External SD CARD/TWRP/BACKUPS/ce04873839487e8383/[the name of the file you just unzipped]
This is a very important step – you must extract the file you downloaded to this EXACT location.
4. Go here and download supersu 2.82SR5 to your external SD Card:
https://androidfilebox.com/app/supersu-root/
This is the only root version working at the moment – magisk does not work as of now. It is Supersu which works perfectly. It also has dm-verity on it so will allow you access to data in TWRP.
5. Ok we are ready to flash the Beta 2! Get into TWRP again
6. Hit the restore button and then go to your external SD Card and restore the file that you downloaded and had to extract. You will also see your other restore in there. Don’t touch that just yet.
7. Stay in TWRP and now go to Wipe and then go to Format Data and then type in yes
8. Stay in TWRP and now go to Restore and choose the first file you backed up in Step 1 – your original backed up ROM. Choose this file and then ONLY TICK data to install. Restore data.
9. Stay in TWRP and flash the supersu file you downloaded.
10. Reboot!
11. You now should be rebooted back into your original rom with the very smooth Beta 2 installed!
12. Now you have to make the fix so you don’t get a buttload of random reboots and Knox nonsense. Download Root Explorer or any build prop editor program from Playstore and change:
ro.config.tima=1 to ro.config.tima=0
and change Knox thingo to v30 like this:
ro.config.knox=v30
Mine was already on v30 but YMMV
13. Have a cup of tea.
Flash Oreo Firmware
You can also flash the new Oreo firmware BUT ONLY IF YOUR OEM UNLOCK CAN BE TOGGLED IN DEVELOPER OPTIONS. Otherwise you can’t flash this file:
All credit to Renovate for this file – remember – only flash if you can toggle OEM unlock in dev options:
Download here:
http://www.renovate-ice.com/firmware/g95x_oreo/json.php?download=latest
You’re done! Get outside now and see the sunshine!
I don't understand why you need to be rooted, can't you simply restore this twrp backup and proceed to use stock oreo?

You can't get TWRP without root.
Edit:
Actually yes if you install custom recovery by odin then you don't require root. Good point!

Is this flashable on G955FD? And will this make secure folder stop working?
This is an updated guide for the Samsung S8+ (G955F) version for the new beta 4 released a few hours ago. It was a hotfix release for issues with apps closing.
2. Download this file and save it to your External SD CARD:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MrLynlCYCtnkAFk7GMeDnigXSmA2-8hC/view
10. Reboot!
11. You now should be rebooted back into your original rom with the very smooth Beta 3 installed!
12. Now you have to make the fix so you don’t get a buttload of random reboots and Knox nonsense. Download Root Explorer or any build prop editor program from Playstore and change:
ro.config.tima=1 to ro.config.tima=0
and change Knox thingo to v30 like this:
ro.config.knox=v30
Mine was already on v30 but YMMV
13. Have a cup of tea.
Confirm working on G955FD
Can you please share b4 change log? I tried to search it but could not find it. I found change log for b3 but not b4.
See attached

No you don't need to be rooted but you need twrp.
Hello, I follow you since the first one(night), openly(frankly) his(her, its) work perfectly, stable, economique, anything has to say.
Only small problem, how deprive the beta(stupid) notification of the starting up.
Continue as his(her, its) haste of even the continuation(suite) of the beta(stupid) or official.

YOUR WARRANTY IS NOW VOID! I am not responsible for anything that could happen, dead sd card, bricked phones, you name it. You chose to install this software and you face the risk of any bugs that may affect you. This is just a warning incase anything goes wrong
ISSUE: FASTBOOT Might not work on windows 10 version 2004, a solution is to use a Linux virtual machine to use fastboot commands. Test it out first as you might be lucky and it could work for you.
A complete guide on how to either just root the razer phone 2 and/or install a gsi with everything working.
The sections are: Basics - Installing TWRP - Rooting - Installing a GSI + Root - Passing safety net to use baking apps, certain games etc.
Basics: (You will have to factory reset if you have not unlocked your bootloader before)
Download this and this file, un zip them both and move them to a known directory such as C:\ADB
Then on your phone, go into developer options and enable OEM/Bootloader unlocking, and after that reboot into the bootloader by holding POWER + VOL DOWN and plug the phone into your pc (I recommend you connect it to a USB 2.0 port, as USB 3.0 might give you issues with the fastboot commands)
Then we need to install bootloader drivers onto our phone, so open device manager, click the drop down menu next to Android Device, right click on Android and select Update Driver, then select Browse my computer for driver software, Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer, Show all devices, Have disk and navigate to your folder where you extracted the .zips (in my case C:\ADB) and open the usb_driver folder and select android_winusb.inf. In the next menu select Android Bootloader Interface, proceed through the warning and install it.
To unlock the bootloader open a cmd window in the directory of your platform-tools folder, which in my case would be C:\ADB\platform-tools (type cd C:\ADB\platform-tools in cmd) and run two commands: fastboot flashing unlock (after each one select yes on your phone and let it reboot - it might take a while) and fastboot flashing unlock_critical
To install the arter97 kernel/TWRP: (keep your phone in the Bootloader and plugged into the pc)
Download both the .zip and .img file from this link (i am using r12 intentionally as it causes less issues) and download this zip file as well
Move both .zip files onto your phones SD CARD (important) and rename the .img file on your PC to Boot.img and place it into your platform-tools folder (C:\ADB\platform-tools in my case)
Open a command prompt window and like before change the directory to the platform-tools folder, then run two commands: fastboot flash boot_a boot.img and fastboot flash boot_b boot.img
Now using the volume keys select the Recovery Mode option in the bootloader and press the power key to select it, if it asks for a decryption password cancel it, and if it asks to allow system modifications swipe to allow it
Go to the Install section and navigate to external_sd and navigate to the arter-r12.zip you installed, then click it and swipe to flash, after that flash the f2fs zip and after it's complete back out to the main menu, click reboot and select recovery
Once you are back in recovery, go to Wipe and select Format Data (this will not erase your sd card if it is set as external storage) and type yes
If you don't want to root then to reboot to system go into Reboot and select System, TWRP will ask you if you want to install their special app, DO NOT INSTALL IT, CLICK ON DO NOT INSTALL.
Now you are ready to proceed to the next step(s) (these are short now don't worry)
To just root and stay on the stock ROM:
Download magisk 20.1 (works better) from here and move it onto your phone sd card by going to the main TWRP menu, selecting Mount then SD card and you should be able to transfer the file onto the sd card directly from your PC
Then simply flash the magisk 20.1 zip in TWRP as we did before and you can now reboot system (make sure to not install the TWRP app)
Magisk Manager will prompt you to update magisk, DONT do it. You can however install the latest magisk manager update
To install a GSI and Root: (lineageOS is what i have linked here, however this is not the only one you can use, make sure you NEED gapps before flashing it incase they are included anywhere)
Firstly, to have bluetooth working go to Mount and select Vendor, go back, select Advanced then File Manager then navigate to /vendor/overlay/ and delete both BluetoothResCommon.apk and RazerAuraBluetoothRes.apk
Then download the latest arm-64-bvN .img file from here, unzip it on your computer and move the .img file to your phone. If you also want gapps (google apps) download this file and move it onto your SD card as well
Now, head to the TWRP Install section, at the bottom select Install Image, select the downloaded lineageOS (or your own gsi) .img file, in the next screen select System Image and swipe to flash it.
Once it has flashed back out to the main screen and click on Wipe, then select Advanced Wipe, then select System, Repair or change file system, and finally press Resize and swipe to do it, if it fails then re do this step
Then go back into the Install section and flash the opengapps zip file and after that the magisk zip file
Now you can reboot to system (might take a couple minutes) and set up the phone.
If you notice it is running slowly go into settings > Phh treble settings (might have to force close app once for it to appear) > Misc Settings > Force FPS > and select the 120.00001 at the bottom (top numbers are 1080p and bottom numbers are 1440p)
Finally, to pass safetynet:
Head into magisk manager, go to its settings and enable Hide Magisk, then call it Manager and allow it to reinstall itself, after that enable Magisk Hide in the settings aswell (hide your banking apps with this or any game that wont boot due to ROOT)
Then go into the magisk downloads section and search for the ArCore module, install this, reboot and your safetynet will pass on a gsi
This is my first xda post so my formatting may be bad but i hope it can help some people if you have any questions drop a comment and please like the post if it helped you for more people to see it.
Have a good day

I know that phhussons AOSP works on this phone with no issues aswell, you might have to use securize to get safety net to pass tho.
android 11 will boot on this phone however iirc you won't be able to hear and other people won't hear you in phone calls.
havoc gsis I believe works but I haven't tested it and I have only heard of one person using it.
BLISS/LOSQ/CAOS don't work on this phone at all.
and after that I don't think there really is many more GSIs that work as they just won't boot for bizarre reasons
How about text messaging. Currently i have not been able to get SMS to work with any GSI on Android 10. Are you able to send and receive text messages? Did you have to do anything to get it working? If so, let me know because i have been having a heck of a time with it.

you might be able to use this fix (it's a magisk module) as it is made for AT&T https://t.me/razer_phone/14202
its called a volte fix but it should help with sms, if it doesn't work you can just remove the module, reboot then delete some qualcomm.ims app (should be shown in your app list)

It doesn't necessarily not work with usb 3.0, for some people (and for me) it works with a usb 3.0 port however for a lot of people they have issues with it.
I will add it tho.

What do you mean razer menu? if you mean settings then it's a MAYBE.
on a gsi, dark mode is available
on stock android 9 it is possible. you need to use smali patcher to enable signature spoofing and then use swift theme installer alpha (substratum themes won't theme the settings)(you need to contact the developer to get the alpha version as others wont work)

1. Download SDK platform tools https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
2. Extract the file in your desktop.
3. Inside the extracted folder put the update.zip file
4. Inside this folder, holding left shift, right click the mouse and select "open command prompt here". The command prompt will open.
5. Shutdown your phone and connect it to the pc
6. Holding Power and volume+ and enter into recovery mode.
7. Select "update via ADB". (scroll down using the volume buttons and select using the power button).
8. Connect the phone to a PC using an original samsung USB cable.
9. In the command prompt run the following command:
./adb devices
10. Wait to see that the daemon has started and that your device is found.
11. If you device is found, run the following command:
./adb sideload update.zip
SD-card method:
1. Download the bin file and rename it to update.zip (by going to file options on your pc you can select to view the file extensions. This makes the renaming process much easier and safer, and avoids renaming the file to update.zip.zip)
2. Copy it to the root directory of your SDcard.
3. Shut down your phone.
4. Connect any USB device to your device, AKG earphones could work, then press Power and volume+ buttons to get into recovery mode.
5. Using your volume keys navigate to "update via sdcard" and press power button to select it.
6. Again using volume keys navigate to the file "update.zip" and press power button to select it.
7. Update will start. Leave it till it completes installing. It will take some time.
8. Phone will reboot by itself and load android.
The update process will start. You will see a percentage counting. First it will verify, then patch etc. Do not move the cable, disconnect the phone or power off the PC.
Once the process is completed (it takes some time) the phone will boot itself, update the apps and log into your home screen.
There are two methods that you can use to get into recovery mode
Method 1:
1. Connect your phone to your PC (Make sure USB debugging is on).
2. Using ADB, enter the command ./adb reboot recovery
3. Wait a little and you should be in recovery mode.
Method 2:
1. Power off your device
2. Connect your device to a PC or use the AKG earphones.
3. Hold down Power+VolumeUp buttons and keep pressing them until you enter recovery mode.
This will not trip knox if done by the methods above
Don't install a beta unless you are fully aware what you are going into.
Don't install the beta if you want your phone to be stable, IT'S a BETA.
It's recommended to make a backup of your data before updating to the Android 12 Beta.
Important Notes:
-Rename the .bin file to update.zip in order to be able to flash it from recovery.
-A common mistake done by some people is that they see the file named update while its a WinRAR.zip file already, then they add another .zip making the name of the file update.zip.zip which will not be flashed successfully, So make sure you do it right.
-Updating to the beta is AT YOUR RISK, No one is responsible if anything goes wrong.
You will not receive OTAs again UNTIL you are on a firmware that gets released later for your original CSC, thats most likely not happening before the BETA is over.

Awesome
Can someone share the installation process please
Most probably you will have to flash it using Odin but I wouldn't guarantee that. Wait for some time till some modders here figure out a way.
