Hello. Been wondering, what are the necessary prerequisites to get WiFi Calling working on a custom or open EU rom?? Is it only dependant of the /system or maybe do i need to flash modem.zip from a branded ROM that has WiFi Calling enabled? I'm on Fulmics 1.6 which is based on V10T open eu rom and i notticed that in hidden menu, i get a "not supported" message whenever i tap on IMS Settings in Field Test submenu of h870 hidden menu. Now what is necessary to enable IMS Support? Modem file? Tweaks in the system itself? Maybe some additional apk files from a rom that supports WiFi Calling? Help please ...
Back on my Sprint g3, never could get WiFi calling to work on custom roms, some stock based custom roms it would work, others it wouldn't. I'm sure it has to be stock based. Customs roms are missing a lot of necessary files to allow WiFi calling.

Never mind guys... I've managed to enable and activate it oN Fulmics ROM 1.6 V10T GLOBAL-COM based. I will make a thread with a step by step guide of how to do it on stock based roms, maybe custom roms as well, will need testing . Anyways... Please close this thread .
Where is your thread to enable wifi calling??? I need that function due to my location. Thanks!

So the G2 supposedly supports VoLTE and I see a bunch of instructions online on how to do enable it... if you are running a stock OS. The Internet claimed that the setting should be under the Mobile Networks page in settings but I have not found anything like this setting yet. Am I just blind for AOSP based roms? Or do I have to flash something (like a new radio) to enable the option? I'm currently running Paranoid Android 4.4 (20140629) and my radio is 24A (I think that's the right number?) There's also the option to enable it on verizon's side but wanted to make sure I had the software to support it before pressing... maybe I need to do it the other way?
Thanks!
Ive been playing around with AOSP on my G2 for a few days, and am curious if this is available on any of the builds?
Plz explain guy, i kaafi wanna know after i flash custom is everything working fine? Which rom is best for Moto x style?
No... VoLTE works just fine on most ROM's including stock, unless your carrier is Jio, then it is not supported in the modem firmware (yet), your actual installed ROM is not relevant as long as it supports VoLTE. There are rumors there might be a Nougat "patch" to enable it, but I would put that in the realm of hopeful user's wishes rather than truth.
If the Moto G 2015 is any indication, once it is working in stock with stock modem firmware, developers can likely get it working in custom ROMs but it might take some time (it took nearly a year to get it working in that device after the device supported it)
Hi developer
I flashed ur ROM .its awesome.
The very anticipated thing happened my phone
VOLTE CALL connected.other side getting phone ring and call is under process but not able to hear voice both side.
Messages going flawless on jio VOLTE.
Sir is there way to get voice on either side.
This is even worked on 5.1.1 on all custom roms.
6.0.1versions.
Dear developer kindly add an option ENABLE 4G VOICE MODE under settings. I think this will fix for sure.
I don't know how to do it.
If u fix this small issue we will enjoy all custom ROMs all versions of androids with VOLTE calls.
Thanks sir

You have to flash the latest stock rom first so that the modem gets updated to support volte calls. Afterwards you can flash any rom.

in this case what we can do to properly working solution.

The enhanced 4g option is present in all Roms. Every rom now supports volte. Something must be wrong on your device.

You won't find it in any lollipop or Marshmallow Roms because that particular feature wasn't implemented in those Roms. It's implemented in only nougat Roms. So if you want volte, flash the latest nougat rom.
Developers have moved ahead to nougat now and soon will move to android O.

I have done some digging and experimenting and came up with this , i am on cm13 with volte working you just need to flash this zip file named as - "Volte patch universal MM" through recovery
https://www.google.co.in/amp/s/forum.xda-developers.com/g4-play/themes/uni-volte-patch-t3531167/amp/
And then , volte will work for your device , hope it works for you
Here it is nearly midway through 2018...
I'm wondering a few things re custom kernels and the OOS 3.6.1 stock rom for the OP2.
1. Is there such a thing?
2. Does flashing a custom kernel (if one exists) for stock rom going to prevent voLTE and wifi calling from working on my TMobile provider?
Thanks for any help on this.

1. Sure, boeffla kernel with right settings is best for stock oos.
2. No idea, try it and report back (if you make a backup before, you can just restore it if it doesn't work)
Howdy All, I want to put a custom rom on my phone to avoid some of the bloat/spyware associated with stock roms, but I also want wifi calling to work.
Is there a rom that will do that? I was thinking lineage, but a quick brows shows that the wifi talk will not work there.
Thanks
I have an VS995. I read somewhere that if you clean flash the first release of the Oreo Alpha Omega Rom. Then clean flash the most recent Alpha Omega Rom (20c i think), WiFi calling will work. WIFI calling has always been hit or miss with me. After Verizon pushed the 20d Over The Air update I haven't been able to get WIFI calling to work at all. Even after flashing my V20 back to stock with the 20c KDZ and performing the 20d over the air update. I used to think WIFI calling only worked with Verizon if you activated it on the latest firmware. Now I think Android is just impossible. I've been using a Google Voice number as a work around.
AO instructions:
[ Discontinued ] - Alpha Omega Rom [oreo] - vs995 | h910 | H918 | US996
Brought to you by: Flash At Your Own Risk. Alpha rom is based off of the stock oreo LG firmware for the LG V20 Built and based off of the newest updates…

You are going to want a stock rom if you are on Verizon otherwise you will be missing calls. There is a work around for it but you will have to perform it hourly because you'll never know when your not able to send and receive calls unless you try placing one. Not to mention there is no VoLTE (Voice over LTE). or stable camera.
Lastly I find that if you trun off the second display in settings on a stock rom the phone runs almost as good as the pie version of lineage OS. I still miss those arrow keys in the home touch bar though.
Edit: Just waited a day and changed my physical address in Wi-Fi calling setting. Was able to place my first WiFi call in over a year. Maybe I was right.
Where's the "wifi call settings"?
Perhaps it's only on the Verizon model VS995
Settings > Network (tab) >Advanced Calling > Wi-Fi Calling
I am on a tmobile H918, do you think the whole first flash, second flash thing is neccessary for wifi talk and text?
