o7. Has anyone out there used the Moto RAZR M XT905.. more specifically, has anyone successfully unlocked, rooted & flashed a custom ROM to replace JellyBean 4.1.2
My Question:
With a few different RAZRs and their different android versions out there, I'm lost as to the specific version of TWRP or CWM I must use, and the appropriate ROOT method.
Many Infos:
This is the Telstra/Aussie version (DROID XT907 is Verizon/US)
We're still stuck on JB 4.1.2
My RAZR M is the Developer Edition, so unlocking the bootloader was no problem, as unlock code was provided by Motorola.
I then rooted and installed TWRP recovery.. This was over a year ago and I cannot recall what I used to root, or what version of TWRP I had.
Phone worked great all last year, then I very stupidly used an app requiring ROOT access that was specifically for the XT907 US version.
I lost access to the soft keys & some of the UI (I think this is soft-brick?)
My next mistake was to reset to factory settings in the hope of fixing the issues.. which worked!! but has destroyed my WIFI & Bluetooth
Both WIFI & Bluetooth won't toggle on now and are not displaying MAC addresses.. At least I can still call & txt.
After many hours of reading (which I should have done FIRST!) I found a copy of the Telstra 4.1.2 JB Firmware for RAZR M XT905. Yay.
Flashed that with RSDLite.. but no joy.. both still just as broken.. Boo.
I think that some required files have gone AWOL.. wpa_supplicant could be gone (or I may just need to overwrite it with a working version)
This means I will need to flash a custom recovery & gain root access again.
So...

Hopefully someone here has the same mobile, or some experience flashing/rooting Moto's ??
Cheers
Hello guys.
I am a happy owner of a Note 4 N910F. Bought it recently and i love it.
Today, i accidentaly deleted some audio files, some rec's i had and they were stored in internal memory. I googled alot and tried some Unroot solutions (since my Note4 is unrooted) and i'm having no luck and what i find is old so i hope i can get help from you guys.
It has Marshmallow and, since it is only 4 months old, i dont want to root it (someone told me i lose warranty if i do it). Is there any way i can search for those deleted audio files without root?
Thanks
Enable USB debugging on your Note 4, connect it to your computer and try running data recovery software on it. If you haven't written any new data onto the internal memory of your Note 4. There is a chance that you can still recover the files this way.
Hi Guys,
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to recover some text messages on my S5? I tried to root the phone a bunch of times unsuccessfully before finding out that Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 can't be rooted. I tried a couple of recovery software options (i.e. Mobikin Dr) but none of them work effectively as the phone hasn't been rooted. I know that I can bump down to Lollipop and then root and try to recover them but I am worried that would further eradicate chances of getting the texts recovered as I'd have to wipe the phone to reinstall Lollipop.
Can anyone in the know please advise what my best options are?
Thank you
they are stored in the /data partition. you will need a special no-wipe odin package to downgrade to lollipop, and root then take off the files. The problem: I think that MIGHT put you in a bootloop without factory resetting - which would wipe your SMS messages.
Maybe this app could be of some importance?

That's an app for making and restoring messages. What he needs is a recovery app or program. I've used Disk Digger and it has done great....even after I've "wiped" my system, it dug deep and got what I needed....
Since I'm experiencing a lot of glitches with Android 7, I want to downgrade my phone to android 6 B10, hoping this will stop malfunctioning.
I downloaded the update B10 from the ZTE website and placed it on my sd card.
System Update finds the update, if I press update, will this downgrade my phone without bricking my device?
I know I will lose my internal memory but will I keep my EMEI info and sd card memory?
It won t harm your phone. It will just downgrade.

If fully stock, I don't think you'll be able to downgrade to MM. Lemme know if you are successful though!

You can downgrade without problems. I've done it a few times already (from 7.1.1 b01). I'm full stock, locked bl and unrooted.
I downgraded today, not without problems. It rebooted fine, than went back to the Axon screen, vibrating sometimes, so it was some sort of bootloop. I went into recovery mode and did a factory reset. After, it restarted and worked fine, I'm now back on android 6 with a factory reset, unfortunately, for me, problems from Nougat update still persist.

Which problems?
Anyone managed to do this downgrade successfully with stock rom not rooted? I dont have my country language to choose after latest nougat update.
Edit:
I managed to downgrade to b10 V1.0. Because of the Nougat update I was not able to update via external SD card although my card was 64GB.
I unzipped the file and placed it to root of internal SD. Did the normal update via settings and all went fine until it started to boot.
Somehow it asked password which I thought it was normal unlock code which i had placed previously, it wasn't.
Factory reset via recovery cleared that problem. All running normally now with marshmallow...
There is not much experts here to just to compare op3 Devs..

if you are able to downgrade and root the files will be over written by the downgrade and root method both leaving them more than likely gone
so pretty much you have to find a no root program that is capable of recovering them in oreo
Do you know by chance any software that really works without rooting? Thank you!!
Did you check your backups? Try to find an app that scans for deleted files, or a terminal command. Device manager most likely wiped the space.. probably shouldn't reboot the phone either..
