Im sorry if this is not supuse to be posted here, im still new here.
So a friend bought me a Note 3 in the US at at&t. And he never got a sim card on it. Since they sold it to him without a sim card or contract, and his sim doesnt fit it soo... yeah. And then he send it to me via mail(I live in mexico). Is there anyway I can SIM unlock it? Ive been reading some threads and all the SIM lock and Region lock got me confused. Id really apreciate if some one replied this? Thanks :cyclops:

You are probably in the wrong forum - this here is the international note 3 forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3
and you should probably ask in the AT&T note 3 forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att
i have had the verizon s3 work in global mode dge only tmobile
ive had the verizon s4 work in global mode hspda+ tmobile and att h+
ive had the verizon note 3 work in global mode on tmobile and h2o aka att mvno
all have had good and bad imei with verizon didnt seem to stop them from working altho 1 out of the 5 or so s4 phones just wouldnt get signal had to force wcdma mode we never did figure out just what was wrong with it as i switched over to h2o and it wasnt doing that issue anymore
since then ive kept my h2o att mvno simcard
been using 2 verizon s5 phones mine bad imei verizon after got on craigslist
and my wifes intentionally known was bad but bought anyways since we knew the darn thing would get signal on our h2o
now.... i got sick of my s5 and wanted to go back to note3
so i got a note3 happy happy joy joy and i was about to sell my s5 to a friend who knows the circumstances and was going to use it on tmobile
when we turn the s5 on verizon onn with tmobile sim it displays tmobile for 2 secs and then no signal ?!?!??!?! insert my h2o simcard wha la everything is perfect
im afraid its being blocked from tmobile use altho my friend has a in contract sim account and ive read that maybe it needs to be used with a month 2 month tmobile sim but i dont have any clue as to if this is true seems nonesense that an account type would matter insert friends sim in 4 other s5's idk if all of the ones he tryed were all bad imei tho or not but he said he hasnt had any luck trying to find a s5 its the reason i offered mine in the first place
im stumped is verizon sharing imei with tmobile do i need to worry about h2o not working later
been using this devices since aug just fine on h2o and still works on h2o just fine but tmobile doesnt seem to work apn or not global mode or any other mode
i havnt tryed phone info samsung and the secret code menu to force a specific band only but im thinking it still wouldnt work
long story short i see tons of people saying it wont work bla bla some saying it needs a carrier unlock and a bunch of people saying thier s5 verizon works just fine with tmobile so
im super sad is my verizon s5 just a att phone now or what the heck is going on here
now im wondering should i keep it and sell my beloved new note3 i dont want anyone getting screwed with my phone but i hate the task manager button !! i want my note3 but would need to sell s5 everyone wants tmobile no one wants att lol
i need to know DOES ANYONE HAVE A BAD IMEI VERIZON S5 WORKING ON TMOBILE IS THERE A CHANCE ITS A DUMB SIMCARD ISSUE ? NEEDS A MONTH TO MONTH PREPAID SIM NOT A INCONTRACT LEGACY SIM PS MY FRIEND GOT A SIM REPLACMENT 3 MONTHS AGO TOO HE SAID I GUESS THE DAYS OF CHEEP VERIZON UNLOCKED GLOBAL GOODNESS IS OVER
I've got the AT&T s5 and I love it, but I'd love it MORE if I didn't have to worry about the locked bootloader. I'm tempted to get a Tmobile s5 and root that. Is anyone actually using a Tmobile s5 on AT&T service and if so, how good are the data speeds, is there anything that you can't do with the Tmobile on AT&T, for instance does surfing the web during a phone call work or not, that kind of thing. I very much appreciate any info on this. I know other Tmobile phones are working OK but I need to know obviously about the s5 in particular.
I do know that I will need to get an unlock code for it, no problem there, I do plan to install custom ROMs on it as well.

Yeah, there might be one or two. Thousand. Minimum.
G900T = G900A + two extra bands
Baseband works fine on either system
Lots of existing threads on the subject too

The device have to be Carrier-unlocked (legal) and may be used with any GSM carrier that uses a frequency or band that this device supports. A SIM card and service plan must be purchased separately. This device's frequencies can be found in the product Specifications under Cellular Network. Your carrier's available frequencies may be found in the links below.
- North American Carriers.
- South American Carriers.
- Worldwide Carriers.
Joki1981 Thank you very much for your answer i will check this today since he need an answer till the end of the day. One More Question. The "Carrier-Unlocked" isnt the same as "Factory Unlocked" or "GSM Unlocked". I am searching and finding several devices that are Factory unlocked and i dont know if it is the same ( Probably not )

Take a look: HERE.
Thanks for the tips. I concluded that i can buy a factory unlocked phone and it will work in europe without any problem right? The only problem i might have is the 4G connection i think. Still afraid of buying a US phone because when it arrives here, anything might go wrong but the price is so much lower than here.....
Hi guys quick question I have a friend that visited me her to The Dominican Republic and decided to give me his Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The phone is actually unlocked to any carrier but my main concern is if he goes back to the US and report the phone as lost with Tmobile, will the lock the phone again? Or just make it as bad esn that way it can no longer be activated in the US..
Pls answer me ASAP, my friend is leaving back to the states tomorrow and we just want to make sure prior to he giving me his phone...
Thanks in advance

Network stays unlocked if it was a permanent unlock via Tmobile. (Not a 1 month temporary unlock sometimes done by Tmo). Even if it gets locked, it can be unlocked on ebay for a fee.
ESN will be blacklisted.

Thanks for you response but ebay isn't a option
If it's a friend of yours, why would he report it as lost if he's giving it to you? Doesn't sound like a friendly thing to do. Or are you trying to scam TMO somehow?

Thats was not what I said
This sounds shady. He's giving you his phone, then false reporting it stolen so that he can get a new one.
Either way, they won't relock it but the ESN will be bad. If it registers on a tmobile tower (even through a prepay service) it will kill the service because the phone's blacklisted through TMobile.
