Always-On Display Battery Usage - Samsung Galaxy J5 Questions & Answers

So I am using A5UX 2017 Rom on my J500H and always on display uses like 1% every 20 minutes with wifi on all the time... I'm curious to know how much every one else's device use battery with always on display.

After using stock kernel and greenify i am getting around 24 percent in 7 hours
I know it is too much but you need to remember our j5 doesn't have native aod

I can pick a custom aod theme for j500m??
Note: i have aod and it work fine

Why do you keep your data ON if you sleep?
Wouldn't be better to turn it ON when you wake up?
Google Settings - Location - unmark access location......you dont need it when you sleep.....maybe if you practice out of body experience
Sync - also OFF, if you need it ON for sync Email or Gmail, better use Maildroid or Aqua
On stock c3, unrooted (I did root to remove bloatware and ads) I lose about 2-3% during the night (sync, 3g OFF)
After battery calibration let it settle down it take 3 to 4 charging cycles
Sent from my SM-G7102
SOLVED
Solved the battery drain issue.
It was due to xposed frameworl.
I was using 3-4 modules like wanam xposed , app per dpi, bootmanager
When i uninstalled it;, now my battery is much much much better than earlier
But is there any alternative to app per dpi
Coz i dont like the SecPhone 's HUGE icons while CALL.
I HATE IT
Can any1 modify the Secphone.apk for 240dpi or any other please

Battery Thread

Hi guys, can you post battery stats, including Screen On Time?
Thanks.
My first drain from 100% = ~22 hours of life with over 4 hours of SOT. Qualcomm Quick charge will have me back in 96 minutes. Pretty impressive for such a little phone.
Lasted a whole day about 20 hours until I reached 4% before I charged it again. Only
25 min of gaming
30 min video
45 min phone
3 hours use on internet
7 hours of calc player , Howard stern
Wi-Fi on all time
Display settings on default
No power saving mode
I'm impressed
The day after when I installed more apps it's more noticeable to see drain from certain apps that constantly use push notification like slickseals
First drain from 100%.
SOT around 3 hours
Automatic brightness
WiFi on 24/7, connected only when at home
Bluetooth on 24/7, also used with Android Wear
~5 hours of BT streaming (Play Music streaming over LTE)
7 Google accounts on Push
1 Outlook account on Push / 1 Verizon account on 2 hour Fetch (stock Email app)
Facebook / G+
Lots of apps installed...

Here is mine from today so far.
On pace for almost 6+ hours SOT.
I also have the Always on Display setting turned on.

The battery has been really good so far. When I checked the first time, it last for 16-17 hours total and 6-7 hours of sot. I was reading, watching videos, and playing games. I'm satisfied.
Pretty good so far I think. Far better than I ever got with the s6
Just under 7 hours screen on time from the very first charge.
i usually get between 4-4.5 hours screen on time and i use bluetooth all day with my headset along with streaming milk music with some games.
Yesterday/day before :29 hours with 5 hours Screen on time
Today: 20 hours with 6.5 hours screen on time
By far the best battery life i have ever had on any smart phone
I'm happy with this. Location always on high. Bluetooth on all day with my s2 classic.
Auto brightness and regular data the whole time, not bad at all
No complaints
So far battery is pretty good
I've been pleased. Wifi Calling and VoLTE on. Location services/history on (WiFi and network, GPS off unless using maps). Auto brightness. Stock settings, a few apps disabled.

Battery drain/ mod heating MotoG4

Hey,
Ok.. bought a Moto G4 .. been 2 days .
XT 1624
Baseband: ATHENE_INDIA_DSDS_CUST
after 100% charge: used mobile till powered off.
: had wifi on / 30 mins of calling / 15 mins youtube/ apprx 30 -40 mins of gaming to test, light games ( moderate heating around and below the camera at the back)
The battery lasted 14 hrs. (Location is off : Scanning in Location is off as well )
Wud appreciate some help on how to increase the batt life and any suggestions for a good ROM for his XT1624
Guess no fix yet or no rom.. oh well.. will find a way around it somehow
Update:
Done battery calibration using the Battery calibrator by 1MobS fm play store.
As i see fm the battery usage history, main drain is fm the display ( was set to 100%, then 75-80% and then around 60%)
Even at brightness at 60% its really wearing the battery down . This seems to be the main reason as i can assume for batt drain.
It has the turbo charger fm the stock charger supplied so not sure if any issues there. every time so far, i let it drain till mobile shuts down and then charge 100%.
Hv set brightness to 30-35%.. will test for 2 days or so and see.
Mobile isnt rooted as of now. Not sure if any roms for this XT1624.
hv used the moto defy plus / Moto G ( 2nd gen) and this is the 3rd moto i am using.
never faced any issues with 2 mobiles before this. just the batt issue on this.
Other than that, bloatware free, simple stock android 6.0.1 , works great
any admin able to please help me with this. cant find a rom ir solution as such to increase th batt life on my moto G4 XT1624.
Turning the adaptive brightness off and manually settling brightness to 40% ( last 4-5 days).. slight increase in batt life .. using the original turvo charger as supplied in the box.

Battery Drain on galaxy s8

I have now had my galaxy s8 for over a year and i have noticed my battery life hasnt always been that great.
I have noticed that over a total day i only get 2-3 hours screen on time.
For an example when i go with the bus home for 25 min my battery often drains over 10% without even using the screen for 25 minutes.
Once i installed another rom called lightrom or something over the renovate ice rom and it got much better the first day but second day when i got more apps on it begun to be bad again.
I then went back to renovate ice rom and i was back to bad battery life again when i installed all my apps.
BUT in this case i have an app called greenify and i greenify all my apps in the background but i still have a massive standby drain
I have never found out what has caused my problem but for sure it cant last a whole day
I have this thought that it can be weak signal but i have disabled the option "Keep mobile data turned on" and followed multiple tutorials of how to make battery life better
AOD off, Location off, Wifi off, bluetooth on ( for gear s3), nfc off,
So i only use bluetooth and mobile data.
I apreciate all help

Since the problem starts when you install your apps, I would start with checking which apps are the culprit. Apps like snapchat and Facebook are notoriously known for unreasonable high battery drain in standby.

Personally I have auto sync off, no battery saver, amplify, and display set to WQHD but I also use dark themes via substratum and my average battery life is roughly about 8 hours SOT
Edit: Sorry meant to quote OP

I have deleted Facebook a couple of weeks ago and that made no huge difference. Though I think snapchat may be the one. But I often have it hibernated

Oreo battery draining problems are now fixed?

Hi, so I have a S8 G950U running on Nougat 7.1 (BLQ1). There is a lot of new updates avaible since, but the last time I did the Oreo update, the battery was just awful!
I'm currently at 6.5/7 hours SOT. But when I was on Oreo, I barely had 5 hours SOT. So, does the life battery is better now, because of the newer updates ?
I really need to know because I don't want to downgrade again to Nougat, it is so long and I got no time for that. Thank.
I'm getting 3 to 3 1/2 hs SOT on Oreo. With GPS on bnattery saving, AOD off, and turning wifi/4G on and off manually depending where I'am. I do not play and only watch some YouTube and Facebook (using Friendly app, removed both FB and FB Messenger).
So no, at least not a good battery life for me.
Also, on Standby, I get a 1% drop per hour, maybe more sometimes, and there's no funny apps on the backgroud...
