How to downgrade To MM From NG - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Hi i have an Axon 7 updated to Nougat B05, but i have some issue with microphone because it when i do some voice message on whatsapp or some instagram stories, it records with low and distorted audio so i want to do a downgrade to test. How can i do it?
With adb it says to me that "cannot read ota.zip" (the downgrade file wich is b11 nougat) and with the external sdcard method it says that
What can i do? Bootloader is locked and i want to mantain it original

download the file version b10 and save it in sd card. follow the normal update process and after the update you'll receive b11 as ota.

You should use the Download Center right here in the Guides section. @marcus.linkenbach it's better having all of the zips on AFH and already unzipped
I'm saying this because the zips usually come packed inside another zip, and it won't work if you forget to unzip it.
After having the zip, throw it on the root of the internal storage and go to Settings - Updates.

I don't know how but using the b10 file i do the downgrade! With b11 it didn't work! Now i can see if with downgrade i resolve the microphone's problems!

Update: with b10 MM voice message on whatsapp and audio in instagram's stories are good, but audio from speaker has less power than on b05. So ZTE resolves some issue and causes other. Damn you zte!

No, you're getting it wrong. Low volume was not an issue, it was because of Europe regulations. Try to install the A2017U firmware (be VERY CAREFUL and FOLLOW A GUIDE, OR YOU MIGHT END UP LOSING THE IMEIs) because U's don't have that volume limitation.

After replacing the files, when returning to the updater, it writes an error, deletes the 2 files, and restarts the download of the b368 update.
How did you avoid this?
Return to the updater of the phone and be sure that you download the appropriate files of nougat
You must give the same name of the second files of b368 to the nougat file its mean that you must delete«full»from nougat file

But I have already an NXT AL10 version, that I use in Europe since 9 months now...It's on EMUI 4.1 and b386 ROM, and it's working like a charm, maybe some apps remaining in chinese, but really not a problem. So, if I update to NOUGAT and EMUI 5, may I have the same features working as with EMUI 4.1 and b386 ROM (essentially basic feature as 2 SIM slots, WIFI, BLUETOOTH, DATA connection, Play Store, etc...) If YES, I wiil try to flash...

We need ''update_data_full_dualcu_cn.zip'' for NEXT-DL00C17B562 and ''update.zip''

Detailed guide to downgrade from Nougat to Official Marshmallow (NEM-L22)

Detailed guide to downgrade from Nougat (unofficial or beta) to Official Marshmallow.
Saw many users struggling with unofficial Nougat update (via firmware finder) and were looking for downgrade procedure (on Facebook, honor community and on XDA) to go back to stable and official Marshmallow version from Beta/stable stock Nougat version. Below method is thoroughly checked personally by me for more than 5-6 times and I am writing this detailed step by step guide for downgrade.
Prerequisites-
Non-rooted phone (no changes to the system partition and bootloader made)
Make sure you are running the Nougat version B3XX (not custom ROM)
Make sure you are on stock recovery.
Make sure to take full backup of the data and apps as this downgrade process will erase all your data and will wipe the internal memory. (you can use this backup to restore your contacts, call/sms logs, app with data, your home screen layout etc.)
Make sure your device is charged to at least 50%.
SD card with minimum 4 GB free space (as main product package is around 2.77 GB in size)
Let’s start the process.
Updating product transfer package-
Download the update.app product transfer package for Honor 5C device from link https://goo.gl/KYZ3Pd
Create a folder dload in the root directory of your SD card.
Copy the update.app package which you just downloaded to dload folder.
Power off the phone.
Press volume up+volume down keys and simultaneously press power button.
Your phone will automatically detect the package and will start the update process.
Once the update process is successful, you will get a message as update was successful and your phone will restart automatically
.
Updating the main product package (Marshmallow B151 package)
Delete the old dload folder from SD card. (which had transfer package file of size 69 MB) - Do not forget to delete this folder or rename it or else the same file will be keep on flashing again and again.
Download the full version package from the link https://goo.gl/8d4s73
Copy the entire folder with UPDTAE.APP file in it to root directory of SD card.
Power off the phone.
Press volume up+volume down keys and simultaneously press power button.
Your phone will automatically detect the package and will start the update process.
Once the update process is successful, you will get a message as update was successful and your phone will restart automatically.
During restart, phone will verify the system image.
This verification and 1st boot may take upto 4-5 minutes so do not panic.
Once the phone is booted and up, it will ask for the initial setup like language, wifi, agreement etc.
Validation-
Once the phone is setup, go to setting—about phone—check the android version and build number to verify you are running on Android Marshmallow version.
NOTE:
This process will completely erase your data, so make sure to have a backup before proceeding further.
This process will downgrade your phone to Android marshmallow, EMUI 4.1.2 and B151.
I have personally tested this method and downgraded my phone to marshmallow without any issue (10+ times)
If you follow the guide correctly, you should not face any issue with condition that all the Prerequisites are met and you followed the steps in order.
If anyone still have any doubt or a slight hesitation, please feel free to ask in the comment before proceeding and risking your phone.
I have a doubt

[SOLVED] Unable to update

Hey everyone!
I know there are threads here about updating the Axon 7 already. I've pretty much tried everything I've read on here but I still can't seem to update my Axon 7 which is currently in version A2017GV1.0.0B03.
I've tried downloading from the update files from the German site, which didn't work & also download the B06 from the download centre, which also didn't work.
The update app doesn't detect any update files & when I try to update via recovery it gives me an error saying footer error.
Would really appreciate some help here.
Thank you.
1.0.0 - so, you should do Marshmallow higher up to b11, then try to do Nougat update version that you want.

First look at the back of the phone and be sure it's an A2017G. If it is, and you don't care about losing all data, just use MiFlash. You can get the idea of how to use it by looking at my DFU unbrick guide. Just download the latest miflash package there is, use adb and issue 'adb reboot edl' and skip to the part where you get edl by shorting a testpad on the guide. There you will be able to flash the FULL_EDL package with no problemo
Common trouble is that people rename stock pack - there is "update.zip" inside folder in zip. Check is that not dual zipping.

Thanks for the help guys. I feel incredibly dumb right now coz all I really had to do was just put the update.zip into my internal storage. It's updating now. *facepalmed to the moon & back*

Update above android 6.0.1

Hello, I think I have an issue with my phone. Now I'm not a big champ on electronics, I'm pretty sure there have been updates above android 6.01. How come I can't download them? When I go to the update MIU thing, its tells me I'm not connected to the internet (currently surely connected to a stable Wi-Fi connection) and that it can't find anything on my SD card. Is there a way of updating I don't know about? I hope you guys can help, and thanks in advance!

MIU? You sure you're not on a Xiaomi?
Which is your phone model? The one on the back of the phone. It should say "A2017U", "A2017G" or "A2017".
You need to download the update zip (If you have an U or chinese you'll have a problem, since ZTE took the update pages down) and put it in the internal storage, then go to the update screen and update. If you have a G, just download them from Raystef66's Download Center. You need to download the Factory images, NOT the TWRP flashables.
If you have an U or chinese, you'll have to get the zip from somewhere else probably.

Okay so I see a lot of download links there but can't figure out which one I need, do you have any idea? I feel kinda stupid now haha
Hey. You need Marshmallow B10 (last 6.0 update before 7.0) afterwards the first version of 7.1 (Sorry I don't know exactly the version number) and last the 7.1.1 B10 (The very last update for 7.1.1 before Oreo). I have them all for the A2017G that i downloaded from the German ZTE website before it got shut down. I can upload them for you, all you have to do is put them on an sd card, go to the default phone updater and the updates will show there. From there on just press update(install) on each one at a time and after the last one you're done. No need for sketchy flashing through recovery. It's all done through the phone updater. I'll comment later once I have the files uploaded.
Can you tell us which stock ROM version it's currently running?

I'll make it simpler.
First of all check the version number on Settings - About. If it is "A2017GV1.0.0B10" or maybe B11 then you're good to go, just go to the Download Center, find the "Factory Images" section (NOT THE TWRP FLASHABLE SECTION) and download the one called N-B10 (No need to download the other two zips, just the one that says B10). Then put that package on the internal storage directly, and go to Settings - Update, and update
If you are on any version below V1.0.0B10, you'll have to download the latest Marshmallow update first, and install it like i said earlier. Then download the Nougat zip and do the same

Not 100% sure, but it could have something to do with having the wrong radios on the US firmware.

It's official Nougat, literally nothing special
I think someone will upload the U files in some time anyways
Right, but what is special is that OTA is the only way it was put out. ZTE never made it available for download from the support page from what I understand so no one seems to actually have the usable firmware available to download in the way others have copies of the official firmware from ZTE support page. Plus since he has the Chinese model it means he probably didn't get it OTA and has a flash able file that he could share.
