Did you change it? If not you're running the stock original recovery!
Turn off phone.
Hold volume up button and power until you see the bootloader come up
Use the volume down button to go to Recovery, press Power to select it.
It'll boot to recovery. If it's stock recovery, you'll see a triangle with an exclamation point.
Press up+power real quick. You'll see the stock recovery.
If it's not stock recovery you'll see whatever recovery you have with the version number on the bottom.
It's very strange - I can't get to recovery by holding down power + vol-up + home buttons. The message comes up that it's booting recovery but then disappears for a second and then either powers off or boots normally.
I can boot into recovery through the toolkit/odin/goomanager however and I've also found that I can boot into recovery if I first go into download mode, press vol-down to cancel download and boot normally and then immediately press the vol-up/power/home button combination.
I have TWRP installed but I previously had philz CWM and this problem happened with both. If i remember rightly the first recovery I tried to install was the original CWM with odin but when I booted into recovery it was still the stock recovery. I'm not sure if this information is necessary though.
Can anyone help me with this or why this could be happening?

When was the last time you updated SuperSU?
Go to the playstore and download/install the latest version reboot the phone normally and after reboot reboot into recovery.
Good luck!
Thanks, that worked. I can now get into recovery with the button combo.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
0. LG G2 4.4.2 D802 CIS
1. Get "root" by Stump 1.2.0
2. Using AutoRec
3. Reboot in recovery mode with TWRP 2.7.0.0
4. Made “backup”, and copied it to PC
5. Made Wipe, Advanced Wipe
6. Flashing CloudyG2 3.3 from external USB OTG
7. After that got black Screen after LG logo
.....
8. Download D802_PATCH_GO_LP_V1.1_droidth.zip, and installed it from Recovery Mode by TWRP
9. Reboot system, now:
Phone cyclically restarts from the beginning and to LG logo, and so on….And I cant enter to the recovery mode. Cool. That can I do, instead throw in the trash?))
I assume you're following directions from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61710456&postcount=1304
If so, I see a couple issues. You did not update TWRP to 2.8.7.1 as indicated, and why are you flashing from USB OTG always copy to your internal memory. You likely can get back to recovery, but it takes timing and patience. I've been in the same situation before. Just an FYI we call a cyclic restart a bootloop.
While it's doing the startup hold the power button until it powers off, it will restart again after. So here's the trick as soon as the screen shuts off you have to let go of the power button and immediately do the vol down power button combo, hold them both until recovery starts. If held too long it will reboot again. Like I said timing is everything, but you should be able to get it with patience. Good luck!
You did not use latest TWRP and you did not flash LP bootstack. Go to recovery, delete system, data, cache, flash latest TWRP, then flash LP bootstack, then Cloudy again
To enter recovery, press power+volume down, hold until you see LG logo, then FAST press power+vol down again, white screen will show up asking to factory reset. press power button, then press power button again. phone will enter recovery.

You can flash latest TWRP and LP bootstack in TWRP. They are both ZIP files so it will work. I would give you links but i'm not sure which G2 variant you have

thanks, but first of all - i can not enter to recovery mode, ordinary button combination do not work. As i wrote before.
If you really can't enter recovery you'll have to "KDZ".
Look over there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
Find the appropriate rom.kdz, flash it with the tool.
If this worked, root stock LP, Autorec v2 it, enter recovery with key combination or if this fails with tools like "Quick Reboot" from play store.
DO NOT FORGET to wipe system, data, caches and to flash an appropriate stack, then flash rom, gapps and supersu. You can do this in one step.
If you want to shut down your phone, just press POWER for around 10s. Do not flash with battery under 50%.
You may find SRKTool useful.
Try entering download mode and flashing stock rom through KDZ or TOT method. There is a thread called "G2 go back to stock" in G2 General you will find all instructions there
tip: disconnect usb devices like usb wifi dongle, web camera and external hdd, they used to cause me problems when flashing KDZ
Hi there, I have a little problem with the tablet of a friend.
Long story short: It always only boots into recovery. Nothing else. Used several different roms, it boots into recovery. Trying to restart into system from the recovery (i have a system installed), it restarts into recovery. Starting the bootloader, it shows me different options to choose from. One of them is "boot secondary kernel image" which I tried to choose, but I couldn't hit any keys as the navigation would not work. Basically, I can only hold the power-button while in this menu, in order to turn the device off. I am using TWRP v2.1.3 and Skrilax_CZ's Bootloader V8.
Do I need to reflash a bootloader or something? How to do this from recovery? I guess I can also go into APX mode.
EDIT: After using another recovery, I used a "Keytest" which was not included in the TWRP. It does NOT recognize the VOL-UP key (If you hold it so the volume keys are on the top right) but other keys. COULD it be that this is somehow pinched or something so it is basically always pressed, thus always booting in recovery? That would be so dumb, but I think it sounds reasonably?
Thanks
How to install stock recovery on moto g4 plus if there is no recovery currently installed on the device?
Hmm, there should be a recovery on the device. If you boot to the bootloader, then boot to recovery, what screen do you see? If it's a screen with 'no command' written on it, then press and hold the power button, then press the volume up key - that should let you access the stock recovery.
If you don't have that screen or a TWRP screen, you can re-flash the stock ROM via fastboot. Depending on your device, you can flash the NPJS25.93-14-18 stock ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138
