Hello
I recently rooted my Axon 7 with magisk and everything works great, except I seem to have a storage issue. I can take pictures but google pictures crashes when it looks for it. The OS cannot see any ringtones, Zedge cannot download ringtones, it crashes too.
It feels like a permission issue or something but I am not exactly sure how to fix that.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks

I have searched the web, no one seems to have this problem?
So since the new gallery app, I think it came with Android 5. Whenever I download an image, from web or from Google drive it is blurred in the gallery, it is also blurred when I load it up full screen.
I have disabled 'Auto Enhance' I am not sure what this does but thought it could be the problem, this has made no difference. I have to edit every picture I download from my google drive, and enhance the 'deatil' option and 'sharpening' to fix each one. I don't want to be doing this as this is no doubt a drop in quality.
I also experience this problem on my Nexus 7 same android version. However my Nexus 10 does not seem to be doing the same, or if it is it is a lot less apparent. maybe just due to the higher resolution and screen size.
Any help would be appreciated....
Has no one got any ideas on this? I could post it in nexus 10 and 7 threads to, but don't really want to spam the forum.

Did you try to do wipe data and cache of this new gallery as well as the hidden folder /sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails?
If that didn't work for you, you could try KitKat's gallery app or a completely different one ( see Play Store)
Happy new year, by the way
Yup, having this same problem with my Nexus 4 running Android 5.0.1
Screen captures are also blurry and pictures transferred from computer to phone are same.
Any solution would be helpful
same problem
I used to have the same problem in 5.0 . I even confirmed with quick pic and some other gallery. Ever since i updated to 5.0.1 problem seems to be resolved. Still searching for a good gallery app. The apps i for from play store are way too slow.
Don't know if anybody else is having this issue but ever since updating to 6.0.1, whenever I post something to Instagram or SnapChat the pic/video does not save to my 6P. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the apps. I have given the apps all the permissions. I have also disabled all apps from being able to perform a screen overlay over other apps which was a message I would get when trying to give the apps permissions to storage.
I still have the original Instagram and SnapChat folders on my 6P with photos in them before the 6.0.1 update but nothing is being saved to them ever since Don't know if there's anything else I can do or have to wait til Instagram or SnapChat release an update to fix the issue. Seems to be a few other people complaining about it from reading recent reviews of the apps.
Thought I'd check here if anyone had any solutions. Thanks

Yeah it's probably something Snapchat needs to fix. It's one of the drawbacks to being on the cutting edge. I don't know what you have tried already but you may try and booting to recovery and clearing cache. I would assume if your camera saves photos to the gallery then all is normal, besides your Snapchat.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll try that and see what happens. Yeah, no problems with pics/videos from the camera from being saved. And I actually am using an App called Instagram Photo Saver which allows me to save Instagram photos to my device which Google Photos is saving but the photos saved by the app are at a much lower resolution. But yes, SnapChat when I toogle enable storage access to SnapChat it does say "This app was designed for an older version of Android. Denying permission may cause it to no longer function as intended." Unfortunately, it's not working as intended either way.

Do you know if there is an issue using Snapchat filters on the 6P? I am getting a message that the device isn't supported.
Symptoms: stock and unrooted, don't know how it happened but sometime in the past few days, all my ringtones and notifications sounds reverted to "unknown ringtones". When trying to change it, it would only give me options of the default Nexus 6P ringtones. All my mp3 sounds (inside Ringtones folder) where not shown as options, though files still inside ringtones folder. If I tried to change with Zedge, app would set customs ringtone and/or notification but when I would look in the sound settings, it would show as "unknown notification". Symptom would remain after rebooting phone.
So I decided to root and install a Customs rom to see if problem would go away. Now if I try to change ringtone/notification with Zedge, app says it is set but nothing changes under sounds in settings (but no more "unknown notification"). If I try changing through settings>sounds, it again just gives me the default nexus ringtones/notifications (though I transferred back all my mp3 files to ringtones folder)
I've exhausted all search on XDA and Google. Much appreciate if anyone can help.
I'm seeing the same problem with my 6p. I think it was ever since the march update. The April update didn't fix it. I found that I could use es file managers audio player to set the ringtone and notification but that also added the tones to my Google music library which I didn't want.
Have you found any other alternative?
I have no issues. I am rooted, running pure nexus and have numerous custom ringtones all working on my phone. I do NOT use Zedge though. I made my own mp3 ringtones on my computer from a program designed to do just that. Do web search for android ringtone maker. You will come up with numerous programs that will work for this.

My update on this problem is I called Google store troubleshooting a few days after posting this and went through their troubleshooting steps. Nothing worked. So rep said they would replace my phone.
Got new phone and a few days after setting up, same problem occurred. Called Google again and this time they said they couldn't pinpoint the cause or come to a solution but that it was likely being caused by an app.
So after several factory resets (it always fixed issue) I have a suspicion on 2 apps: Nova Launcher (Beta or stable) and Zedge.
Only time my phone did not have this occur again was without both of these apps.
I just installed latest Nova beta to retest my suspicions and after 24h of use, all is well. Problem would usually appear a few days after use so I'll report back next week.

I have neither zedge nor nova launcher installed. I use the google experience launcher, non-rooted phone running stock mob30d.
My ringtines are my own mp3 or ogg files (i converted the mp3 to ogg after i had this problem to see if that had anythign to do with it).
I figured out what my problem was. Something or somebody (me by accident) created a .nomedia at the top level of my storage mountpoint.
Removed it, and all is good in the world.
I haven't had problem again since reinstalling Nova launcher so I guess I can take it off my suspicious app list.
Perhaps also something might have been fixed on latest system update MHC19Q build.
Not willing to reinstall Zedge to further test since I have all ringtones/notifications I want

I had my device replaced by Google when I contacted them about the issue.
I'm on my 3rd device. Same issues
Hey.
Me and a friend of mine, own a P8 Lite. Yesterday we both got the same problem with Snapchat. Video recording is really, really choppy (laggy), like 2-3fps. Keep in mind that before that it worked as smooth as it should.
You could say it's updates fault, but it can't be.
My P8 Lite is 5.1, rooted, with Xposed and Snapprefs (I have older Snapchat version)
Her P8 Lite is 5.1, not rooted, brand new with stock rom. (She has newest Snapchat version)
I tried:
Rebooting
Reinstalling
Logging in once again
Clearing data of app
Deleting SD Card content
Clearing Dalvik Cache
Using NuPlayer in developer mode (instead of AwesomePlayer by default)
And none of those worked. Interesting enough, it happens only in Snapchat. In any other app like Camera or Messenger it's fine. Snapchat app runs smooth until recording videos with both - back and frontface camera.
Neither me or her updated any apps. The last update we've done was like 1 week ago and it was: YouTube, Messenger and Facebook.
I really need a solution for that, because she is a bit known snapchatter and also I want to have some fun too.
Ideas?

I don't have a Snapchat so I don't have idea what is the cause of it. But have you tried updating your phone to Android 6.0.

Ever since I bought this phone new in 2018 I've been extremely disappointed with it's performance. Lately I've been experiencing some extreme graphical glitching and lagging using the Amazon app. I just decided to freeze the amazon app. I recently did the thermal paste mod and noticed some slight Improvement. However after freezing Amazon I feel like I have a brand new phone. Has anyone else experienced problems with the Amazon app on the LG v20. I'm from the USA.
I'm attaching some screenshots. The App basically just flickers between various pictures. Or worse stays on the first picture. I edited\blurred my name and address.
I've used the Amazon shopping app in the US on my US996USC rooted with dirty santa and supersu since sometime in 2017 without issue. My wife has a VS995 (Verizon) rooted via dirty santa and magisk and has the Amazon app working without complaint (if an issue was there I'm sure I would hear all about it). What version of the V20 do you have?
Maybe some of the stock software on your version of V20 is conflicting with the Amazon app. Do you get the same slowdown / flicker if accessing Amazon via Chrome,Firefox, etc? Or maybe just force shutdown the Amazon app when not using it to obtian the performance benefits.
Also I deleted Facebook and a number of other stock applications I do not use (easy when rooted, somewhat harder without). Also I use greenify (works on unrooted phones) to cause most apps to sleep when I am not using them. Maybe one or the other might also help.
No problems on my side, either. OP, I noticed that you are using the Second Screen Status Bar mod and are hiding the regular status bar. Do you think the Amazon app may be clashing with that somehow?

Did you find out the cause for this? I have the same problem with the Amazon app but sometimes it happens elsewhere too. I don't have a v20 but running stock Oreo (8.0} on my axon 7.
The furthest I've gotten to fix it temporally is by choosing my address in Amazon and changing it back again. It seems like it's something to do with the address pop up message that causes the problem for me.

There is a bug in the latest version of chrome and web view that makes the screen flicker on some apps. To fix this you need to disable chrome and enable chrome and check do not auto update in the play store.
There is another fix you have to install the updated graphics driver. This driver is for oreo only lgv20, after you flash in twrp you must wipe dalvik cache. You must have root to be able to install the updated GPU drivers.
