Recently unlocked my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge. I decided to transfer my sim from my iPhone to my Samsung. I can text and call but my mobile data is not working. I believe it has something to do with my apn settings. But once I try to go to my apn settings it says "Unable to view access point name. Access is restricted to current user profile.
Would love to have someone to help me fix this problem.
What carrier is your s7
Globe (from the Philippines) gotnit unlocked and moved to Canada and using a Canadian sim atm
Sounds like a common problem going back to the introduction of mm. Carries implemented it to stop users from getting free Hotspot usage without them having the feature on there plans.

Here's some info I found on it with a possible fix on one of the post. Also the sprint s7e forum has users talking about losing the ability to change apn after OTAs
Sorry my Internet is dreadfully slow and having a hard time browsing through this forum. So do I have to root my phone in order to make the modifications to get my 3g to work?
Still having problems but I'm getting somewhere..
The carrier I bought this phone from did some retarded modifications to this phone.
So most likely the problem is this "user profile" it might be fixed if I can change or delete it or whatever. But the problem is I can't find the place where you can change this user profile. It seems it's supposed to be in "about device" but there is nothing that could change the user profile. I think the previous carrier somehow modified it stupidly. Reformatting doesn't help BTW.

I have the same problem. Did you get this fixed?
Globe-locked S7 unlocked.
Same thing here. I just recently unlock my phone using the unlock code given to me by Globe telecom but when I use different sim network, I can only do call & text. I contacted Globe and the agent told me that unlocking is for call & text only and mobile data still locked to Globe.
Can we bypass this by reflashing openline firmware or wait for Oreo update?

After the Oreo update, I still have same issue. But before I upgraded to Oreo, I managed to fix the issue. I was trying to root my device (Nougat), unfortunately, it failed. So I downloaded openline firmware (PH version) for S7 in Sammobile and reflashed. I think I missed flashing CSC file but it was successful. The other sim network worked fine and can be used for data already. But when I checked for OS updates, it has no CSC code indicated, and my settings interface was like from UK (not sure). So I reflashed again with CSC file already and it got back to Globe interface and same issue occured. Haha. But the point is, we can fix the issue by changing CSC.

Great mate! What csc can we use? Thanks!
CSC Codes
Google the list of CSC codes per country.
To change CSC code, enter *#272*Device IMEI#
Tried XTC (Philippines - Open Line) and it worked.

Anyone have luck flashing the S8-950U US version to another carrier? I'm trying to flash my Verizon S8 to the T-Mobile Firmware but get an error at 32% on my phone when it says system is updating. Also, when I just flash the AP and CP files, I get bloatware from Cricket, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Metro PCS with 3 different software updates and a messed up settings app.
Currently on Snapdragon latest official Oreo with XAS (unbranded Sprint)
My phone was an originally Verizon branded, it now has XAS U1 firmware (model shows as U1 in settings)
I want to flash either U1 or U of ROM with csc of SPR. The reason I want to do this is because I want to fix/enable Calling Plus/Wi-fi settings.
I really do not care if my csc says XPR or SPR afterwards, I'm just thinking that flashing a rom designated as SPR might fix my Calling Plus/Wi-fi issues.
Is it possible when using Odin to flash, to use Home CSC and not wipe data.? I still feel with unrooted phone backup and restore still requires a lot of manual setup and I hate constantly doing this every time I flash.
Note: I've already tried to get wifi calling working using both Nova activities and in the phone settings without success , have been following the other thread about enabling Calling Plus on unbranded rom
After throwing in a T-Mobile sim and then going back to Sprint sim, I was converted to SPR csc. Sprint always seems to do this. So now I don't need to change CSC b ut I still am struggling to get wifi calling
The firmware for SPR and XAS appear to be identical so I am wondering if I should try to flash the U version of the rom . And of course attempting to keep data
I used odin a while back to get SM-G935U on my originally AT&T bloated firmware. I'm currently trying to enable t-mobile's volte and wifi calling, so I've been trying to flash the home_csc file for : TMB-G935TUVS9CSC1 . This should be the newest update for t-mobile's firmware.. However, I still cannot seem to see either features. Do I need to do something else for those two features to show up?
I have the G975U with AT&T. I downloaded the T-Mobile firmware and installed it on my WITHOUT the User Data file. However, I still get all of the AT&T bloatware? I get VoLTE, the bloatware, wifi calling, startup screen, etc. Would this be the same thing as using the USerData? Otherwise I'll have to find the UserData for AT&T and install it, but I see no point since everything is already there.
