Flashtool: No Loader Found - Sony Xperia X Compact Questions & Answers

Hi there. I'm trying to flash the UK (or any other) firmware to my US Xperia X Compact but I am having some trouble.

Download the flashtool application which is listed in the original post.
Install the application, then run C:\Flashtool\drivers\Flashtool-drivers.exe, you need to then select Xperia Z, Flashmode Drivers & Fastboot Drivers, see attached.
Then follow the instructions on how to use Flashtool, this can be found on the page link if you go to the developers website.
There is information on the Sony Website also http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/

Look like the NFC icon only works on UK rom. That's why I still stay at 350 UK rom and wait for officially 434 update.

Lets wait and see but what worries me now is that danw_oz said that on this fw on .350 icon was working and now it's not working so it also may be the case with our UK rom

Who's your operator? Or are you unbranded? It's available on the UK sony website, but whenever I try to update on my unbranded Z, it says I'm on the latest software. I might just flash this rom as I'm probably going to root in the next couple of weeks so will fix the NFC problem then anyway.

No, you don't have to do that at all! Just use the Flastool from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162907 and place the ROM in the firmware folder and follow the prompts. It's that easy. I have done with mine.

Thanks Gav, O2 just squeaked it into 2013. Still not seeing this as an OTA or on PC companion, maybe due to that fact that I flashed the vodafone one yesterday when I got fed up of waiting. Will flash this immediately and lets hope the 4.4 update comes before 2015.
Happy New Year
:highfive:
Anyone switched from the EE 4.3 ROM to this? Anything different?
This one is 825.8MB vs 889.7MB of the EE version.
I recommend to do a full factory reset after installing to avoid issues.

Yes that will work fine, you would want to disable the O2 apps in app manager as they won't be of use to you.

Do you have the latest flashtool? I was on 0.9.13 and I got the same error code. I updated to 0.9.15 and I had no problems.
Everything is great, but I have one problem that seems to be common so far... I can't change the lockscreen wallpaper. Anyone else have that problem?

It shouldn't affect you in any way just carrier specific for Canada, there a lot local carrier's without any bloatware

There is no need to post separate FTF threads, instead post your FTF within THIS thread and ask the OP to add it to post #1. I know this thread is old but it was recently bumped and all other FTF threads have been closed recently in an effort to help keep the forums clean and organised. Thanks

this is the real UK Generic then. What's the difference to the FR Generic?
do you also flash it through flashtool as normal, as my bootloader is locked.

Probably very little differences such as bookmarks and pre-installed apps. Also obviously the default language
Yes just flash using flashtool. As it's official it will work perfectly with a locked bootloader.

I flashed this last night. English UK is the default language and jeux gameloft icon is not there. It's exactly what I'd expect a UK rom to be. I'm very happy with it.

Guys, Please bare with me if i am asking a stupid question as I am new to sony devices so have a lot of confusion. My device has a 3 Firmware on it but I want to get the UK Generic one.
I have downloaded the file posted in this thread and would want to know what exactly can be the cons of flashing it?
will i lose any DRM keys or X reality or anything by doing that or is it totally safe?.
Also if i backup all my data using sony's backup app, would I be able to restore it after flashing the Generic file.

Debranding an Zperia Z2
There is something wrong with this file linked (D6503_17.1.A.2.55_EURO_LTE.ftf), it may be corrupt. I flashed it to my Xperia Z2 to de-brand from EE but it sent it into a boot loop instead of restarting. I Managed to get flash tool to work in debug mode again by by plugging in the usb cable and flashed D6503_23.5.A.0.570_RU.ftf which I found on the net as a generic uk Android marshmallow 6.0.1 update and all was well again. After that the next update came from Xperia Companion updating software in the normal way. It is possible that I did something wrong. If you are debranding a UK Z2 just find the latest Marshmallow 6.0.1 update file (D6503_17.1.A.2.55_EURO_LTE.ftf) and flash it to your phone . You don't need to unlock the boot loader of need to root the phone. I'm too new to the forum it won't let me post links to the marshmallow files sorry you will have to find them yourself.
Instructions here:
Pre-requisites
Download and install Flashtool
Enable USB Debugging on phone. Head over to Settings>> Developer options
Enable Unknown sources on the phone by navigating to Settings>> Security
Steps to Debrand Sony Xperia Z2
Step-1: Ensure that you have installed all necessary drivers for Sony Xperia Z2 on the computer. You may do this by installing PC Companion or Sony Update Services (SUS)
Also connect the Xperia Z2 to the computer before starting the process to download USB and ADB drivers. You will find the necessary drivers once Flashtool is installed in the following location, C:Flashtooldrivers
Step-2: Download the following FTF file, which will debrand Xperia Z2
Download link: Xperia Z2 D6503 Generic UK 17.1.A.2.55 (1282-0226)
This is UK generic firmware and will work on any D6503 model and provide several language options. You may download FTF link according to your region
Step-3: Move the downloaded FTF file in C:Flashtoolfirmwares folder
Step-4: Open Flashtool on the computer (Click on the lightning bolt symbol and select Flashmode then click OK
Step-5: Select the downloaded firmware in the left column.
Note: If you want to keep all existing apps and date, ensure that Data is not selected. Press the Flash button
Step-6: You should see Flashtool is "Preparing files for sharing"
When the prompt appears, connect the Xperia Z2 to the computer and switch off the phone. Press and hold Volume Down button while plugging the USB cable into the phone
Step-7: The installation process should begin now
Step-8: When the 'Flashing finished' message appears in Flashtool, remove the phone from the computer and restart it. This process will take a few minutes
That's it. The Xperia Z2 should now be debranded to UK generic firmware.

I updated today to this new firmware and I'm now facing an annoying bug. Every time I reboot my phone some of my settings are reseted to default. For example "Font size" will go back to default. It will say in settings "Small" even though it isn't. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Updated today, so far so smooth
It drains my battery... Anyone experiencing this? Like while im downloading through wifi battery is around 30% in seven minutes its drained. Device location is already turned off... Using wifi for the download. Factory reset done as well as battery reset...
