The only way I was able to get around it was to install twrp and install a custom Rom to which I made my own csc file (where the carrier settings are) and I have changed mine to allow the max which is 160x13 so I can now have 2080 characters ? you will trip Knox but the only thing that it changes is the use of Samsung pay and we can't use that yet anyways. I'm currently working on getting it working though.

I've used a port from the note 7, in order to get root working you would need to flash it via TWRP like normal (this is how I installed root on mine)
Can anyone with the 935S weigh in about how many characters they can send in an SMS text?

well i didnt root my phone but im actually thinking about it so i want to ask you guys a few questions..
1) my android isnt english (its turkish) so if i root my phone and after few months later i change my mind and i want the default one back. can i have it with all the same exact functions/menus/dictionaries in my language back? i mean my recovered files will be copied just the same way? like i never rooted?
2) if 1 is yes, then can i get those dictionaries to my new rooted one? just for sms typing.. menus and things arent so important tho..
Thanks..
It is possible to unroot your phone. Although in the process all data on your phone will be lost!
You have to backup. When unrooting, use MyBackup, because it's sadly the only way to restore data without root.

Yes, it's possible. But you must find the official turkish RUU.

I don't understand what you mean.. If you root it, and you keep the original firmware, you can get the files from the internal memory (ex. with rootexplorer). But I don't know why you need dictionaries..
Just to clear things out since there is two conflicting answers, francians is right about the unrooting process. The official turkish RUU will unroot your phone given that it contains the bootloader. Flashing back the original RUU will also set your phone back to how it was when you bought it, that is, with all the functions/menus/dictionaries.

dictionaries.. not like english-turkish dictionary.. im not talking about applications here.. what i want to say is, the dictionaries for auto completion when im typing.. or corrections..
for example;
when i write pwncil it corrects me to pencil..
or when i type penc and i press space bar it writes "pencil" (but in turkish of course )

Moved to General
their are enough threads for the above subject as in the relevant thread
Hi all, I would kindly ask you if this may work. I have a Root de La Vega-compatible Note 3. I would REALLY like to change the DPI of my phone, but would like to keep the possibility of having OTA upgrades, and the warranty. So I am asking you if this will work:
- Root De La Vega (no Knox tripping)
- Xposed - change DPI
- SU Full Unroot
Is it possible? Otherwise, do you know any other way to achieve my goal?
If not, I'll just wait for a couple of Samsung upgrades and then forget about OTA and Warranty...
Thanks.

Has anyone used app settings (XPosed) to change systemui dpi? Will this affect all apps or only the status bar, settings, ...?
Does this work at all ?

I tried it. It only modifies Recent Apps and Status Bar. Works great! I'm on 400 dpi now.
for real dpi change you gotta edit build.prop, and that gets overwritten on ota updates most likely, meaning you need root again to edit it then.

Meanwhile I noticed that if I change dpi I am likely to have to change most apps, they are not properly resized. At least that was on the Note 2. E.g. keyboard small and offset, phone app to, etc etc.
I am probably putting a pin in this for the moment, I'll wait for one or two official Samsung and then blast away everything, if a reasonable Rom is out.
I hope that the Note 3 sells a lot so we can get high-quality roms with S Pen support...
Guys I need some SMShelpLOVE.
Im on a s4 sprint, unlocked, using Vodafone uk sim
When using stock I can send a SMS. But using AOKP(slimbean 4.3 v2) I can't send (receive is fine)
I've copied the SMSC from the stock and tried putting it into slim but it doesn't work still!
The SMSC im using is "+44785016005",145
The 145 is ALWAYS added by default at the end and I think that is what's messing it up as it is not used in the stock settings.
Is there a way to prevent that or any other great ideas?
Thanks bro

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. I am using CyanogenMod 10.2.1 (Android 4.3)
Additionally I cannot send USSD requests (like *101# for checking the balance)
My carrier is MTS Ukraine (GSM)
Recently I upgraded my phone to CyanogenMod 11 (Android 4.4.2), after this I was able to send sms and ussd requests but I wasn't able to receive incoming calls so I decided to return back to CyanogenMod 10.2.1
Any thoughs about the problem with sending sms?
I managed to get it working using 0791447758100650

Look for a generic UK rom (can be found in firmware thread) open up odin and flash it and since the command to send home info to 3 is no longer there they have no reliable way to detect your tethering I use about 20gb a month tethering and according to 3 I've used none

So you're saying -
Flash a standard NON branded rom. then Three cant detect the tethering.
But flashing roms at all will trip KNOX to 0x1?
Nope not if it's an official one ie from Samsung

Reflashed and now it reboots after Acore has stopped working. Help?
For years android user. I have encountered with the same problem for the first time. I've newly upgraded to lollipop 5.1.1 from 5.0.1 note 4 910c . Using xposed and rooted. Installed talexop_Kernel_N910C_5.1.1_C0I4_v1.05 kernel.
I know the problem is kernel or xposed or root but I dont know where it is exactly. I tired to install firmware and root and xposed more than 50 times for week. Dont want to try the same things from the beginning.
Waiting à working solution.
I found out something new. Here in my country the phone number format is like this 0543 455 4455. If I remove 0 from the beginning of any number and save it to the contacts the message can be sent. Otherwise not. But without 0, numbers are invalid here. What does this show? Any idea?
By the way I use note 4 910cq turkey official firmware but its the same as 910c. If you suggest to try any firmware and kernel for rooting I would be thankful.
Lastly, in some pages when they write how to root they are talking about bootloader to flash it. Is it necessary. I myself first install firmware through odin then install n910c-cwm-recovery-6.0.5.1 and from phone flash SpaceX-Kernel-v0.2_N910C(Dev) or talexop_Kernel_N910C_5.1.1_C0I4_v1.05 then flash xposed as I do with kernel. I think this is the right way?

It helped me me too on Wanam Xposed custom v80.0, 910F, 5.1.1 but it's not definitely an obvious solution for this issue... Thx anyway!

The wanam has some weird problem that causes this bug ... Even after uninstalling wanan the bug remains, because it changes the feature.xml file.
To fix this use a root explorer, I used ES File Explorer.
1 - Browse and open the file feature.xml
2 - In line <CscFeature_Message_MaxRecipientLenghtAs>10< change the value from 10 to 99
3 - Save and reboot

that worked for me
For mainly my reference next time this happens to me - the file is \system\csc\features.xml
