Try using greenify with xposed
After updating 7.0 via ota i have this issues.
1. Battery draining faster
2. Heating problem.
3. Front camera darken
When its charging or surfing internet i feel more heat than MM.
ANY SOLUTIONS.!? ANYONE...:crying::crying::crying:
Go back to mm? Or u can try a custom rom. I am on nougat, a510f, i have not such issues whatsoever. Only battery damage over time, which is common on any phone.

The best and most unefficient way is to install a custom ROM (CM, Lineage, RR, AOSP(if they even have a official version or unnoficial but I don't think that it actually improves battery life but it is always good to try)) **MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING WORKS**
But you can always google and search for some apps that actually improves battery life.
Also you can install the MM stock firmware and get back to the last version.
These are my answers
****And also check that you have bootloader unlocked and that you have TWRP or any other recovery****
I was running Nougat but after the horrible battery drain I decided to go back to Marshmallow, however obviously I want to keep ontop of the security updates provided by Google
Is there anyway to update these without having to update from Marshmallow

No, there is no way to apply security updates without updating to N. N is not causing your battery drain. Check your battery's capacity with a tool like Accubattery.
I'm at 6.0.1. Don't know if I should update or not. Is battery better or worse with Nougat? I mean screen on time.
Í have the Same question.... You update ?
Is it just me or battery backup is drastically reduced in oreo (December 1 security patch) update?
I'm having the same issue, 5% drop each 10 minutes or so of stand by
Can anyone give a configuration for any kernel or anything for this problem? Pls
me2
sad
same here, i am on full stock phone, never unlocked bootloader and because of this drain i am thinking to downgrade to nougat but i'm afraid to something go wrong in the downgrade
Wow really. I guess I shouldnt upgrade then. I'm currently on stock 7.0
