Use minimum adb to flash the custom recovery.
Used adb for same but it is not working.
Can you add some more details?
Which recovery version you are trying to flash, what is the command you are typing, and what error you are receiving?

Hello Everyone. I need some help with restoring my shield because I seem to have soft-bricked it. Last week I rooted and installed a custom recovery file and all was well but this past weekend I was messing around with it trying to install the custom rom for full android and I think I accidentally deleted the boot file and the recovery file because all I get is the android on his back with the red triangle. Also, when I try to connect to the unit using fastboot nothing is found but I DO get a hit if I put the unit in stock recovery, it gives me the option to click apply update from adb.
From what I have been reading it sounds like I should be able to sideload the recovery and/or the stock firmware. Can anyone confirm or provide me with instructions on how to get this unit back up and running.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Wow I expected people to jump on this one. I guess I'll just keep messing around with it
Hy, here is the firmware and the instructions:
FW:
https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworksdownload (here you will have to scroll down to your console version PRO/non-PRO
Instructions:
http://developer.download.nvidia.co...TV/Upgrade-2.1/HowTo-Flash-Recovery-Image.txt
Thanks but I already looked at those and it only provides details for using fastboot which I am unable to use.. device will only show up when I use the regular recovery method and the only option is apply update from adb.
So, if you perform a adb reboot bootloader command from adb it doesn't reboot into the bootloader?

He can only do this if he can adb into the bootloader, hence my question. The implication appears to be that he can't if I'm reading his comments correctly.

Correct. I can only use sideload at this time. Yesterday I was messing around with it a little more trying to sideload the recovery but I kept getting a message saying "The footer was incorrect" and it would cancel the install. I tried different files to make sure I wasn't dealing with a corrupted zip file but they all gave the same message.
I'm trying to figure out how to sideload the recovery

Hello, I am facing the exact issue. Please let me know if you figured a way to debrick?
All I can do is ADB sideload and E:footer error keeps coming up.
Help is appricated,
Thanks

Do a Google search for Revolution Nougat Recovery and do fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Hi,
I have an A2017G which after trying linageos had the stock rom from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-guide-updates-to-stock-files-via-t3469484 TWRP and an unlocked bootloader. That worked ok, and I wanted to upgrade to the stock ROM 7.1. I installed this using TWRP https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71664539&postcount=29. But now when it boot's after the bootloader it's stuck showing a linux logo, and it won't boot Android.
In the bootloader (http://i.imgur.com/Os4vkwT.jpg) I can try to go to fastboot, but selecting that only reboots the phone. I can however select recovery and go to the stock recovery (http://i.imgur.com/PBj6y6X.jpg). From there I have tried to sideload (selecting Apply update from ADB and adb sideload rom.zip) the stock rom (http://www.ztedevice.com/support/detail?id=1170789A90BA42E18B3364B80C7F5A26), the previous rom I tried to install (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71664539&postcount=29) and another TWRP stock rom (https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-kernel-stock-7-1-1-b02-based-a2017g-t3592470) but all fail at the very beginning saying "(adbd status 1) Installation aborted" (http://i.imgur.com/RzNSBtu.jpg).
I also tried to install linageos back using sideload but it fails ("failed to verify whole-file signature"). I believe that is because it's not the official rom and the stock recovery only accepts that.
ADB only works in sideload mode and fastboot doesn't (it loads the bootloader again).
Do you know how I should proceed? How could I install the stock rom, or TWRP again?
Thanks in advance.
Try it with this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-reinstall-twrp-root-update-to-t3578552
If you can't flash recovery with axon7toolkit try it with the last step "Get Fastboot" first. ZTE removed the fastboot mode in Nougat, so you have to flash another fastboot image.
If you can boot into fastboot again you can flash TWRP and from TWRP a rom.
Good luck!
Hi Darkem,
Thanks a lot, that actually worked. I was under the impression I wouldn't be able to install TWRP because I was only able to use the command "adb sideload update.zip" but other commands like "adb reboot edl" didn't work. But as it's said in the other post, pushing the three buttons of the phone set the phone into EDL mode. From there I was able to install TWRP.
Thanks a lot again
(A2017G) Hello. I no longer have access to fastboot because I flash a stock rom (Nougat) with the recovery stock and it has removed my modified bootloader, I managed to install twrp in edl mode but I still have no access to bootloader. What should I do please? Flash a stock rom (Marshmallow) here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/download-center-factory-images-ota-t3606547) to gain access to fastboot again (bootloader )? Thank you. Sorry translation from French to English with Google Translate

Granted I have the A2017U, but in stock recovery I can still access the phone memory with my pc. Why not download the stock rom from ZTE, put it on the phone memory, and flash it in the stock recovery?

Sorry, why do you want fastboot? If you're planning to relock the bootloader you'll need to be fully stock, which wouldn't be the case if you just installed a fastboot zip. Relocking the bootloader is probably the only thing that fastboot is mandatory for

I want to go back to ROM stock and bootloader locked but when I do not have access to the bootloader anymore I can not do the command "adb lock oem"
I just wanted to root my phone, but got stuck when I tried to flash a Supersu using TWRP recovery in my phone.
Things I did before trying to install supersu:
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. Installed twrp through fastboot adb
From then, I tried multiple different things and now I am stuck with these issues:
1. When I try to fastboot some firmware using ADB and fastboot, I get this message on every line "Pre flash Validation Error" and "Remote error" something
2. When I tried to install a rom through TWRP recovery , I get some other error there. Ill update on the error in a few hours.
Basically, I was using Android 7.1.1 when my phone was working properly. Please tell me what to do? I don't know what I am doing. My phone is stuck at "Unlocked boot loader" screen.
Please help. I have a MOTO x PLAY dual sim card version!!

Unlock bootloader then search moto x play twrp.img(3.1 or 3.2) file then flash magisk.zip.
Don't use SuperSU. Use Magisk 14.0 version stable and good.
First flash the zip file from TWRP 3.1.0 or greater, then install the Magisk Manager app.
I too faced the same issue with X Play/SuperSU. Finally i resolved the issue by writing some code in terminal.
But i prefer Magisk over SuperSU. It won't give any issue.
But if you want to use SuperSu. First write this code via terminal then flash zip.
echo SYSTEMLESS=true > /data/.supersu

Hello!
Looks like your bootloader is blocked. if u have oem unlock enable y can unlock then try to flash. if is u cant unlock, i recomend u to use the dload method to flash oem firmware so your phone can boot properly again.
