Sound Quality through headphone jack - Honor 8 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

With sound quality, I don't just mean low volume levels. I mean clarity, bass, detailing.
For me, I have to keep the sound at around 60 or more to isolate the outer sound.
The sound clarity is exceptional. The bass is good. It's just coming from a device where I kept the volume level at 20 or 30, it felt a bit odd to me to keep it at 60 but now I am comfortable with it.
Btw I have a xiaomi in ear headphones pro.

You can tune it to more amazing levels with Viper and Dolby.

New Nexus 7 Sound Chip

On my original Nexus 7, the sound chip is very bad, at max volume the sound isn't even medium loud on my headphones.
I use PowerAMP with bass boost and treble boost on (I listen to electro mainly.) How does the new Nexus 7 compare?
Also, can someone compare the new Nexus 7 to S III in sound quality on headphones? Mainly how long each can go? The old nexus is terrible compared to SIII.
The new sound chip is really really good. Like really good. I use similar headphones comfortabley at about 25-35% volume, Clarity is great, good DAC.
i agree as well. i like the new sound chip as i listen to trance. and to add the new speakers and layout work better as well

As stated in the thread you linked, this does not affect headphone output, only the speakers on the tablet's output so it's not entirely relevant to the OP's question.

I'm finding its close to my HTC One coming through the headphones. Won't go quite as loud and clear but it definitely has impressed me. By far better than the first gen nexus 7!
Is the sound good because it's good? Or is the sound good because of how crappy the OG nexus was? The sound is the only thing I hate. Headphones and speakers. Makes me wonder if mine is defective. Or maybe I shouldn't expect more from a budget tablet. Would love to see more opinions.

I find the sound quality through the headphone jack is just average. Kind of muddy to be honest. I thought the original nexus 7 had a better DAC than this new one. Speaker sound is of course better than the original

I take back what I said, I had the equalizer on and it made the sound poor. The old 7 doesn't sound as good as the new one.

There is a static buzz at low volume on the speakers which appear on most if not all of the new nexus 7.

Don't have it on mine, but I do have a little dust on the upper left corner.
About the topic, I use my own custom made earphones, with superb bass, with AwesomeBeats mod. Works like a charm, though ViperFX also improves sound quality, I'm comfy with AwesomeBeats because its simple. Try any audio mod(requires rooting).
The sound on the 2013 nexus 7 is really good, I mean without headphones on it, it's totally another world from the first gen nexus 7.

What devices do you have? I will do some comparisons if I have any of the same devices that you have. I have a Note 2, Evo LTE, Evo 3D, Asus Infinity, 4th gen iPod Touch, and an iPhone 4.
Just so everyone knows, the iPhone 4 was free, I'd never buy an iPhone! I just use it as an iPod (never been activated by me). I did buy the iPod Touch when it was released though......SMH......

Does Your Note 3's Speaker Distort at High Volume?

Just wondering if it distorts or not when at max volume? Is it normal?

mine does cause i have very loud sound mode
Yes it does. It is normal for this phone. HTC one is the only phone with decent speakers. I'm looking into bluetooth speakers to use at home but it's hard to know the best deal for as little $ as possible. I'm not springing for Bose speakers.
Beamed from my Galaxy Note 3
Yup

Yup mine also distorts. Viper4android has helped alleviate this problem for me at high volumes.

Audio technica M20X with Nexus 6P?

Hi i wanted to purchase an OVER THE EAR headphones and found Audio-Technica m20x. But the impedance is 47ohms. I couldn't find any straight answers online. I read that Audio-Technica m50x works great but it has impedance of 38ohms and My maximum budget is $50.
Can someone confirm me if m20x works with Nexus 6p without any external amplifier? I really liked the specs and i cant try one (ordering online).

Any body used any headphones with 47 or more impedance with Nexus 6P?
Sent from my Pixel XL using XDA-Developers mobile app
Never mind, was too tempted and ordered the m20x.
It works fine. Only problem is volume levels are low. Except the volume everything is perfect.
Sent from my Pixel XL using XDA-Developers mobile app
You can unlock the bootloader and install custom kernel, then use some kernel manager app to raise the headphone digital volume.
I did just that with EK Kernel manager. Didn't have the stable kernel for 7.1.1 until recently.

LG G6 sound modding

Do you have any ideea if there it is a possibility to mod the sound of our beautiful G6? To increase speaker, headset volume? Thank you.
There is various EQ apps at the Android market but nothing yet like viper. Waiting for root and boot from our awesome devs.

That could wreck your speakers or headset entirely, so I would be very cautious.
I personally think the G6 has pretty loud speaker audio, and if that's not enough, get a Bluetooth speaker. You don't want to render your phone's speakers useless by overblowing them.

No, I just want loudness for notification and ringtone only, not a music fan playing from loudspeaker. It is not loud and clear.
