Hello!
I installed the Google Pixel Dialer on my phone because I hate the stock one from Samsung. The dialer works fine but there is one problem with it,it does not show missed call notifications. Notifications are allowed for both Phone and Contacts app.
I even installed it as a system app but no luck.
The stock dialer shows notifications for missed calls just fine.
Any sugestions?

Hey,
over the past few days my system messages disappeared. Actually I have no exotic software installed.
One week ago the standard system message showing the incoming call disappeared. so i just installed s2u2, since it is a better notification for incoming calls anyways. I configured it as i needed and it showed calls and sms with preview.
now the incoming sms system message also disappeared and also the xperia panel and s2u2 don't show new messages anymore. What is left is the little icon in the taskbar....
Is there any way to bring the notifications back, or should i rather hard-reset?

go to settings > sounds & notification
make sure for the desirable notification, you have set "display on screen" on
i have a notification on the lock screen that i cannot clear. when i slide the icon that looks like a phone open, it brings up the phone app. i've cleared all missed calls but that notification stays on. any idea how do i get rid of it?
Have you tried calling yourself and missing the call then clearing that notification........
yes i have, it isnt a missed call notification. the missed call notification is a different icon. it kinda looks like a voice mail icon but there's no voice mail feature that i can find.
try dialling the generic voicemail number for your network and see if there's anything in your mailbox. Or maybe try restarting manila......

you are right, that is the voice mail icon. what do you mean no voice mail feature (meaning you don't have voicemail?)
the phone will be receiving the voice mail signal from the carrier, you need to dial your voicemail number too find the message, the number will either be in your contacts under voicemail or it will be in the guide that came with your sim card( or phone if bundled).
I cant see your carrier/country so I cant tell you what the number is.
i deactivated the voice mail feature with my carrier so i do not have voice mail. no idea how it came about.
i think it came about when i was overseas using a prepaid sim card. now i'm back home and no longer using the prepaid sim card, but the notification is still there. any way to remove it manually?
I started using Google Voice for my voicemail. Seems to work OK. But I miss having an obvious visual cue on my homescreen that there is new voicemail. Do I have to periodically run Google Voice and look for messages, or is there someway to get an obviouis notification on my homescreen?

I also do not get any notification of voicemail, but I don't think I'm using googlevoice as to get my voicemail I have to call myself. First thread I found about a similar problem to mine, still researching...
You need to download the Google Voice app. It will do everything you ask for and more.
Running Stock verizon LG G2, when I receive a text via hangouts app and I get to the lock screen I'll notice the hangouts notification in the notification bar and right away it disappears before I can drag down the bar to see what the message was.
Any ideas?

I get this too...maybe 50% of the time with hangouts
Text messaging with Hangouts is cumbersome and annoying, I just went back to stock Messaging app.
But this is probably a Hangouts bug, yeah.
Yep - me too.
I have this problem too - but I also had the problem when using Textra. Maybe there is something about the G2 that's preventing the typical SMS notification from working properly. I guess I'll try the stock messaging app for a bit and see if that works properly.
Hello, i am trying to configure applications like Where Is My Droid.
Unfortunally every SMS i get it seems to be not processed by the application. The SMS is received and showed like a normal SMS but the application dont automatic respond to it.
I have another app that make ring the phone with a simple sms, so when you lost your phone you can make it unmute and ring. Ofcourse this app dont work like Where Is My Droid.
I am using hangout as default sms app.
Any idea on how to fix it ?
thank you
