I just bought lg's. I can't speak to the others but the lg one charges the battery really fast, and oem batteries tend to hold charge better for longer in my experience

Exactly what I posted hours ago on another thread. Hahaha.
It's cool though. This deserves it's own thread actually.

Skip within the video to 13m:50sec and they pretty much say the same. The G4 does not beat the S6 at least at the moment of testing the pre production units. Hopefully they are still tweaking the OS to get the battery lasting longer.

Does anyone know if the G3 batteries will work in the G4 or did they change them just enough to not allow compatibility?

Dang. That's kind of lame considering they are both 3000mah.
I would understand if the new phone had a larger battery but since it doesn't it kind of seems like a move meant to make those of us that have extra G3 batteries buy even more new batts.
I'm not sure how the S6 could have better battery life, I had it for a week and it was worse than my G3. Horrible standby time. I was hoping the G4 would be better than the G3.
I also saw a post that the G3 battery has small tabs that prevent it from fitting into the G4.

Makes sense since they want more money, so why make it cross-gen compatible? Don't think any phone has accessories or whatnot what work for more than the current generation of devices. It is lame since they have the same size battery, but that's how it is... sadly. :/

It makes sense given the source. They are not known for their independent reviews. We also don't know their methodology. Their test involved some sort of video playback until the battery died. Given the AMOLED display in the S6 where energy use is proportion to the number of pixels being used and what color (white uses significantly more energy). So if the playback involved night time scenes the S6 would last longer where as if it was bright daytime scenes the G4 would last longer. Neither one would be a far comparison. I highly doubt their battery tests involved real world use given what people have truly been getting on the S6.

Phone Arena's findings contradict what almost everyone else who has used the G4 has said about the battery life. I'll wait until the phone is officially out and GSMArena posts their review to get a more accurate view of the G4's battery life because they have a published methodology and their battery life database allows you to set custom usage patterns. It's not perfect, but it's better than PA's black box test results that inexplicably put the S6 edge's battery life over the G2.
Droid-Life Tim-O-Tato posted a comparison, but commented that the battery life is good, better than the S6.

We'll see if LG can improve this, but if the battery is comparable to the G3 that means it's noticeably worse than my G2 & not significantly better than even the Optimus G...
Edit: Checked the battery life of the S6 on xda & I'm seeing less than 4.5hrs of SOT for users. I wonder how much these newer phones would benefit from 1080P?

I have no idea how the battery life on the G4 will be like, but I am not sure about phonearenas testing methods.
They have the iphone 6 plus @ 6.5 hrs and the S6 at over 7 hours.
The 6 plus has excellent battery life.. So I'm not sure how their testing works, but I dont think it always translates to real world use.

You are correct in that it makes sense for them to make them non-compatible so as to make more money, but I still find it to be a rather mean spirited thing for a company to do. I wish that these companies would strive to satisfy the consumer COMPLETELY. They would be known for being a simply and easy-to-work-with company, and their sales would be terrific. Instead, they nickle and dime. But I suppose there's not much we can do about the matter. It is what it is.

The only thing that seems to be constant, least in recent years, is that everyone (besides Apple, as their ports have always been different from Android and probably Windows too) uses microUSB ports. How long that'll be the case, who knows? At some point, USB Type-C may become the new standard. Don't think I've seen any phones on the market use that. Only thing I've seen uses that is the new Macbook.

I hope so. I'm kind of surprised none of the new flagships have it since the Chromebook Pixel and the new Macbook have it now.
One cable to rule them all. USB-C will be it... for awhile.

How much bloatware is there is the G2?

Hi guys! I was planning to buy a G2 (actually I am stuck between the G2 and the Droid Maxx!) but I wanted to know how much bloatware there is in the G2 the first time it is run? For example in comparison with Samsung phones. To have a measure how much bloatware is too much bloatware for me, I think Samsung phones have too much of them. How many services and apps are going to be run when I turn the phone on for the first time? If somebody posts a snapshot of the apps and services that are running on the phone I would really appreciate it.
Definitely less than on Samsung but still, LG interface is veery bulky and lovers of stock Android will not be satisfied.
DROID Maxx is not a good choice because of veery old Snapdragon S4.

Thanks! Can you explain why you call it bulky? Is it because it is different than stock android or it is because it gets slow and laggy in particular times? Does it ever get sluggish (for example after installing apps or normal usage for a while)?
P.S. You are right, the Droid Maxx has lower specs and lower benchmark. But my wife has a Moto X (which is pretty similar in CPU, RAM and such to the Droid Maxx) and it is really smooth. You never feel any lag and it is really fast. I know that Motorola has made some optimizations to make the device faster, and the near-stock android also has some share in this.

Because LG UI has tons of features. G2 is not slow phone, not at all. It is very fast. But if you are looking for 100% lag free experience, G2 might not be best choice. What about new Moto X? Or 1+1?

I think I will be fine with the features as long as they don't stay in the way. Do they? Frankly, the only reasons I am considering the G2 are price (it is 2 years old flagship), the battery and the camera. I really don't like the tweaks they made in the OS, and for that I am open to any suggestions that somehow meet my three above interests.
P.S. One super annoying feature for me is the recent apps button which is simulated by long pressing home! I always hated this in Samsung phones and now it is every where!
P.S. 2. I have heard many good things about 1+1, but it is at least $400 CAD and I'd rather stay with a big name. About the new X, it is also a very good phone but my problem is the price. I cannot afford it right now. I am looking for a flagship device that is 2 years old since the price is really dropped. Motorola cameras are really not impressive though. At least the Maxx compensate for it with the huge battery which the X lacks.
Between the droid maxx and G2, I would go G2 - better 5.2" 1080p screen, smaller bezels, faster processor, better camera, no annoying soft-touch buttons...
I actually like the G2 gui with the added features and customization. A lot of it can be customized to be more vanilla. I don't care for the extra lg apps they throw in tho - luckily most can be disabled. After disabling the apps/bloat I don't use, the number of startup apps is basically the same as any motorola. I don't notice any lag and typically get 5-6 hours of sot in 50-60 hours between charging depending on how I use it - so it's hard to complain. While it may be a little heavy depending on how you configure it, it's nowhere near as bad as any garbage samsung - remember, friends don't let friends buy samsung...
With that said, there are better phones out now with with a stock android experience, Nexus 5x and 2014 moto x come to mind. But if you can get the G2 for cheap, I don't think you can do better.
Thanks for sharing your experience! I was planning to buy the G2 from ebay. By the way, is it a good idea?! There are several sellers that sell it. It is new and they offer return policy and ebay also offers money back guarantee. Is it pretty safe to buy from them? It is listed at around 210 CAD.
About other options, I seriously thought about the Moto X 2014, it has worse camera (compared to the G2), worse battery and screen. On the other hand it is smoother, and has near stock Android. It is above 300 CAD in ebay and telus offers it for 450 CAD! Nexus 5x is even more expensive right now.
Anyways, it is good news that many of the bloatware can be disabled

I don't particularly like buying phones on ebay, but If the seller is reputable and offers hassle-free returns, I don't see a risk in buying it. Quickly looking it up tho, there is only one seller that is selling it specifically as "new" at the $160/210CAD price. They are in Hawaii - I would probably pass on that one. The other sellers at that price are listing it as "new other" and "manufacturer refurbished" which really means used. I would probably get one of the sightly more expensive ones from a good seller so as to be sure that it's actually new and that it's located on the same continent.
Fyi, the 2014 moto x is a superior phone in most respects. The screen is 5.2" 1080p amoled so it's better, not worse. Both of the cameras are good but not the best, and realistically you won't notice the difference between the two. While the rated battery capacity is lower, real world performance is comparable. It has a metal midframe and soft-touch back cover(don't get the leather since it wears quickly) and feels a lot more solid and therefore more premium. It has dual front facing speakers and better button placement. The only downside is that it's a few mm bigger in all dimensions and it's more expensive. Is it worth ~$100 more? idk
You are probably checking ebay.com. I see many options in ebay.ca and the sellers have %99+ positive feedback! It is trending now at around 215 CAD. About the X, if the AMOLED is saturated as it is in the 2013 model, I really think the LCD on the G2 is probably better. The camera on the G2 has OIS and I expected it to have better performance noticeably. Have you ever had the chance to compare them? Honestly I love Motorola devices and as you said they look more solid and premium. My only problem with the 2014 X was burn-in problem with the AMOLED display and the camera. Not even the battery.

be careful some sellers sell the g2 as d802 and the inside motherboard could be a d800 and if you flash wrong file it will brick the phone.. best thing is to open the phone and check the motherboard model to make sure what variant you have..

About to buy this phone

How does it hold up today? Is the overheating really that bad? I had LG G Flex 2 before with SD810 and honestly it wasn't that bad, i mean sure it was throttling in games but nothing excessive..
Is it true that the original charger does not support Qualcomm Quickcharge and need to buy it serarately?
Im planning to buy this Aukey charger, maybe anyone used it? https://goo.gl/O6gZLi
What else.. are there any issues with this phone that most people encounter (besides the overheating)?
My first smartphone was HTC Desire and honestly everything in between was failure and dissapointment, cant wait to get back to HTC. :good:
Overheating has more or less been "fixed" with software updates, I've had the pleasure of using the phone from Lollipop again and was able to experience the insane heat (60c) while running GPS making the phone too hot to hold. If you stick to later versions like Marshmallow or Nougat, I don't think you'll experience that kind of heat.
Yes, the original charger does not support QuickCharge. Do not bother buying one, I've got one and it doesn't charge up 60% in 30mins, it does go up faster but more like 30% in 30mins which is really not significant improvement IMHO
The M9 is a good device, and I love my phone. But I wouldn't recommend one, because of its rear camera, and battery screen on time.
You are better off with HTC 10. Better camera, better processor, better battery, overall a better package for some extra cash.

HTC One (M9) Really heated very quickly and consumes the battery very quickly.Bought here https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/HTC-...32702635815.html?spm=2114.41010308.4.2.VwOENs But for such a small amount of money it's a good phone!
Hello, i was also thinking about buying a HTC One M9. Im looking for a phone that is like HTC One M8 but better. I want for example stereo speakers and IR Blaster. Micro USB is nice because i have a lot of those cables everywhere in my home.
Hmm, did the HTC 10 have IR blaster?

No, the HTC 10 does not have an IR blaster. If you absolutely need an IR blaster, I'll recommend you to get the M8 over M9 actually. The M9 is really luck of the draw, some may overheat, some won't. It's safer to assume that you'll get one which overheats anyway, and when that happens, it WILL throttle everything. (Mine doesn't overheat in games but in navigation and apps which requires GPS, it'll overheat like crazy.)
Otherwise, I will recommend the HTC 10 over any of it's predecessor.
A friend of mine just bought a used HTC One M9 off of ebay in decent condition and what appears to be a great (and possibly replaced) USB port just last week for $129 USD. He is suffering from poor battery life and it is likely the battery is about ready to die (and having replaced the battery in my M9 only a month ago, I now know the difference between a battery that is going crap, is crap, is dead, is new. lol). If you are willing to perhaps do some aftermarket work and replace the battery, possibly perform the thermal mod talked about here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/overheating-try-to-thermal-paste-t3232759 and replace the USB port, you can really get a great phone for a decent price right now.
The real question is if you can even find a solid, new OEM battery atm, and that is a big question mark. My buddy is getting his battery off ebay from a reputable seller from Hong Kong (shipping it to the US), so it will be a few weeks before we have it on hand to install. I am going to do a video on everything I do to his phone, so I'll be posting that in the future after we're done.
However, if you want a phone that is simply ready to go, and you have NO plans to root/unlock bootloader/install 3rd party rom/etc, and just want to use the stock HTC experience and hope that an aftermarket used M9 is going to last... I DO NOT recommend this phone simply because I think many people sell them off when the battery life starts crapping out.
If you are willing to replace the battery, possibly the USB board (way easier to do then the M8 was), and also perform the thermal mod.. install a 3rd party ROM like Lineage 14.1... then I highly recommend it if you are willing to put in the work. Its a fun phone to mod, if not tricky. I think the camera is okay on this phone, but I am not a photophile and really don't care about amazing photo quality.
I got M8 which got just 2GB ram/32Gb Rom but no 4G, consider buy the M9 for $136 refurbished phone. I think Htc make solid device this M7,M8,M9, battery normally it's pretty solid for Htc phone I think that's HTC reputation. So can't be so bad I would think. M9+ also worth considering but come with MTK Cpu/Chip. HTC 10 is now $330 32Gb Rom, I can't find 64Gb in Asia yet, Any know where I can buy one online?
Hello, me to I am planning to buy an M9 or M8. Now I have One mini M4 with Insertcoin ROM and it still works quite good for daily use but the camera doesn't work and the plastic chassis is broken...
Reading some user's advices it seems that M9 is not so better than M8 and it has overheat and battery problem, the camera also is not as good as M8. Do you think that today the best is to buy M8 than M9?
I would like to install some good Rom for battery life.
Of course M10 would be better but it is still to expensive...
Thank you for your help!
Thanks
I have used the HTC One M7, M8, M9 and the 10 and in all honesty the M9 was the least enjoyable experience of them all, but that was a general comment about 2015 phones.
Having that said I gave my HTC 10 as a gift to my brother in law for his birthday and I'm waiting for the U11 to come out in some more stores here in my country, which is expected to arrive with the 6/128GB model in the next weeks and I've been using my old M9 while I'm in the waiting queue.
Right now I'm using the latest update available (Android 7.0 with April security patch) and while the heating issue has been fixed by the most of it, it still feels a bit warmer than other phones but the experience it's not much different from the Galaxy S6, which I also owned for around 4 months. Performance wise probably the M9 will be better because of the newer android version and security patches, and more RAM for multi tasking, I'm usually a bit over 2GB so that means under same circumstances I'd probably be getting more app refreshes on the M8, and the M9 is also slightly faster maybe.
Camera wise the M8 was better in low light, the M9 has a very slow shutter for night shots and you need to keep the ISO under control, but daylight photos are good in context with the cameras of its generation.
Battery wise I can't optimize much because I'm running stock unrooted ROM, but enabling aggressive doze with one time permission escalation and Greenify and blocking Facebook background processing using the same method through app ops I use to get around 4 hours SoT in around 14 hours cycle, which once again it's pretty comparable with what I was getting with the Flat Galaxy S6 with a very similar usage, but maybe slightly higher brightness. I use auto brightness with low stats on the bar
I'll try Lineage OS later now that I heard the camera it's functional and see if battery life improves, but if you're are aware with what you're buying and the price it's good it's a phone you can use, but I'd recommend other options as well because 2015 phones were all a mess, I sold the S6 because I was as disappointed as I was with the M9 and the G4 it's not in a better spot in my list either, I used all of them.
Thank you DeadPotato for your reply and for sharing your experience with M9.
Maybe the most important parameter to me is battery life. As M9 seems to have a slightly worst battery life then M8, I will pick maybe an M8 on the bay even if it is an oldest model and it's less fast than M9. Hope it is the right choice to me
Ciao !

I believe M8 would have worse battery life than M9. Because M8 is one year older than M9.
If you really cares about battery life, don't go for both, like other suggested. The HTC 10 would be solid.
Between M8 and M9 , I would go for M9 though.
Hello,
I've picked-up an M8 on the bay two days ago for 100 euro, I hope to receive the phone soon... M9 is about 160 euro.
I think that HTC10 would be the right one to buy, but it is still to expensive, in two years I will buy it
Thanks!
steer clear. overheats & battery isn't great. i hope i'm not too late
I just bought a second hand M9 from gumtree (a classifieds site here in UK)....it was advertised at £50 but got it for £45.....absolutely mint condition, not a scratch or scuff on it. It seems I got an absolute bargain from someone that needed some money fast.
My device gets warm when i'm taxing it but it's more or less the same as my old sony running a 800 processor..... In fact, it's a lot better than the sony. I don't sit there playing games on it all the time though.
I am more than happy with the phone...especially for the price I payed.

Is it worth it? Why and why not?

I came from Angler. I lost my LCD due to some dumb reasons and was about to proceed to a repair center but turned around when I got the price for its repair (Costs 8,800 Php in the Philippines with battery replacement).
So right now I'm considering on buying a new phone. Which of course, since the Nexus family isn't continuing; I've set my eyes on OP. I know its a fantastic phone and did my research on it a lot. So my questions are:
Is it worth to get OP5? Why?
Should I wait for OP5T? (still skeptical since in the Ph the price actually skyrockets to +$200)
Is the camera better or at least as good as angler?
Lastly, does the Audio HAL/sounds are better than angler?
Please do help a buddy out on deciding. I'm currently stuck on 3 choices: repairing my angler or buying an OP5 or wait for OP5T but die because I don't have a phone in my hands atm and the price would most likely be about $600-700 in PH.
Also take note: OP doesn't have any warranty in the PH. If I destroyed it due to unknown reasons, the only repair I can guarantee is my tears. Phone costing $499 in your country always has about $50-99 more in mine due to delivery costs and stuff.
Please do help a brother out... Thanks!
 @shadowstep I will summon you
Sounds like you are in need of something right away. The regular 5 would likely be better due to price. 5T is only going to be a marginal improvement over the 5.
Digital Walker offers 1 year warranty in thr Philippines and their price is not that far from the orginal price. Have you checked that store out? I'm pretty sure they'll be selling the OP5T when it comes out.
I got my device from them.
The One Plus 5 is a good phone in terms of hardware specs and development community but it's a poor phone in terms of build quality. My headphone jack was unusable within 90 days. The USB port and buttons and alert slider are all budget phone quality. I would not buy a One Plus phone if there were no warranty or repair options because it most likely will end in tears.
To answer your questions : sound was superior on the angler. The camera hardware in the OP5 is more powerful on paper than the camera hardware in the angler but the camera app in the OP5 is crap so the angler took much better pictures. Unless you are willing to put the OP5 on a tripod and use expert mode to manually change the settings the camera hardware on the OP5 is wasted. My $150 Samsung J3 took better pictures, especially in low light. The angler is also smoother IMO, has far better speakers and a display with no jelly effect.
The OP5 has massively better battery life than the angler, runs cooler and has a more efficient processor where thermal throttling is never an issue. It also charges much faster.
With the OP5T coming out soon if you are determined to get a One Plus phone I think it would be foolish to buy an OP5 now unless the price is fantastic. The 5T will likely be a better phone and the resale value of the OP5 will drop like a rock because of the jelly effect problem.

Yes I did, unfortunately like OP3T and others, the release from them would likely be delayed for 2 months just like OP5 was released around July-August. I am in need of a phone right now especially in terms of work and family. Warranty will be voided once I do some things with OP but I'm pretty sure I can just reflash factory image to boot it up and proceed with warranty.

Your post makes sense. I do know that Angler takes better picture and I really think OP has a crappy software that makes the phone's camera specs wasted. +1 on angler on that but I didn't know angler has a better speaker, though I'm more concerned on Audio HAL which is the headphone's jack, which you say OP5 is better (not yet sure as some said angler was better or probably just the same).
What I'm really after with OP5 is the screen display, battery and the no-frills thermal throttle on SoC 835. Angler has a lot of issues with thermal throttling due to poor 810 but I've already done some things to remedy that. You have a great point with me waiting on OP5T but the problem again is the price, as I am in need of a phone badly. Hopefully the sale affects the seller here in PH as well (just one store) and if not, I can't wait until next year to buy one...

Is it worth to get OP5? Why?

Whether it's worth or not is a very subjective opinion, but for me, it was worth it. I've always been a Google fanboy but with the launch of Pixels, their smartphone positioning changed from developer-friendly, not very expensive phones made for the power users to made-for-general-public, very expensive, locked down phones made for competing against the likes of Apple and Samsung flagships. Hence, I started looking for a Nexus-alternative and OnePlus fit the description best. It costed me less than what I spent on my 6P, has an amazing developer community, the battery life is just stellar and it has been a great buy overall.. totally worth it.

If you prefer fingerprint sensor on the back and no hardware keys (Nexus style), then you should go for the 5T, or else don't. If price is a major decision, then the 5 should suffice 100%. 5T isn't much of an upgrade (especially because the processor is the same). Just that the screen is bumped up (which honestly I don't mind in the 5 because it's too small a gadget for screen size to be that important for me, but that's a personal thing) and the battery will be slightly more in capacity (but that will be compensated by the bigger screen, and hence there won't be any difference as compared to the 5).

The stock OnePlus camera is inferior to Google Camera which was there in the 6P, but that's not because 5 has a bad camera hardware, it's just that the software processing of the picture is just average. To work around that, there is a Google Camera mod available now which enabled HDR+ on the 5 as well and I use it over the stock OnePlus camera. The results are far better with Google Camera's HDR and comparable to the 6P now. I'm satisfied.

Frankly speaking, I do miss the front facing stereo speakers and it was a downgrade in terms of speakers when I got the 5. However, with the stereo speaker mod (which turns the front earpiece into a mini-speaker as well) along with the A.R.I.S.E sound system/V4A mod, I'm damn happy. The bottom firing speakers can really loud if you want them to (more than the 6P at times) and the quality is great with the A.R.I.S.E sound system/V4A mod. Regarding the jack, I found it similar, didn't notice a big difference because I use bluetooth earphones.

I suggest you move on from the 6P because I also had to get my screen replaced initially and it costed me a bomb! Even if you get it changed along with the battery, it still won't be as good as a new phone, so. 5 or 5T, that depends on you given the pros and cons I listed above. 5 will be cheaper now that 5T is coming, so that should also work in your favour.

Is there an option of taking a third-party insurance from an insurance company? If yes, you can go for it and then be at peace. Also, do remember that rooting or unlocking the bootloader on OnePlus doesn't void their warranty. And one more thing, the jelly screen issue is exaggerated in my opinion. I haven't noticed it (maybe one or twice) and it's a zero issue for me.

There is a legit seller here in ph but would take 2 months from OP5's release date to sell it here which is a negative for me. Based from your perspectives, I might have to eliminate Angler and go with OP also given its rich dev-base. Still, however am displeased that I am gonna throw away $500 for a phone (highest I bought was 6P for $250 from a reseller). If only I'm not in need of it immediately, I am willing to wait until its price drop.
I hope the jelly screen will be fixed on OP5T tho

..and to "not be in need of a new phone immediately", you'll have to either spend on getting the 6P repaired or getting a cheap/used smartphone for the period you plan on waiting for the price drop. Either ways, it's an expenditure which you can instead put on a new phone right now. Just my two cents.

Me too! Though like I said before, it's a non-issue for me and I've barely ever noticed it. I'm totally happy with my 5's screen.
Just last question, @shadowstep, is it worth the price of $100 increase for the 128gb one? I personally don't need the 128gb but the 8gb could be handy or could be overkill?

It is overkill if you don't need it, frankly speaking. I got the 128/8 variant just because it was the higher end one. I don't use more than 10% of the space available.
Also, I've used the 64/6 variant too, and there is no as such noticeable difference in app management with 6 GB RAM too as compared to 8 GB RAM. I don't do heavy gaming or whatever it is that needs so much RAM, so it was overkill for me.
Go for the larger memory device.
In regards to which one the 5T would be the obvious choice, the 5 is a beast and the only plus side for me is the 1080p screen, it'll give a little extra performance and stamina.
But even with that in mind if I was looking to upgrade it'd be the 5T.
I'll throw my hat in here: What about the Razer Phone?

Is the X727 still the best sub-250$ deal around?

My 720's charge port died last week due to misuse at the beach
So now I need a new phone and I am wondering if it makes sense to just buy a 727 on Amazon or Swappa (can't get a 720 in the US) or should I go for something else?
My daughter is using a 727 with AICP 13.1 (Oreo 8.1) and it's awesome. Should I just get the 727 for ~USD 200 or should I get something else, maybe a OnePlus 3T?
Can't you just replace the USB-C port module? http://www.myfixguide.com/manual/leeco-le-pro-3-teardown/
Here's a replacement charging port. However, Quick Charging might not work with this port as someone in the reviews mentioned.
If I were you, I'd probably get the OP3T. Or get a waterproof phone. If you use your phone a lot outdoors, you'll definitely want something that's at least IP68 certified, like an S7.
Or just get an x727 and get a "burner" phone for outdoor use, like a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 or Mi A1.

Thanks for the tip, I bought this before I had seen your response https://www.ebay.com/itm/182756926069.
More burner than a Le Pro3? Come on, it's already on the bottom of the food chain
I would get a 727/great phone I got new one $170 off ebay.
Phones are water resistant not water proof.

There are good phones out there that are cheaper than it. The Redmi 5A is around $80 to $100 USD off Aliexpress, and the Redmi 4X 3/32GB is $130. Of course, these are strictly for use as burner phones at places you maybe wouldn't want to risk using your daily driver.
If you want cheap baby for the buck it's hard to beat the x727. They go for around $150 on Swappa. You could get the LG G5 for about that. Which gives you expandable storage and removable battery. For TMobile the V20 is going for about $200 and that phone (which I am typing this on) has expandable storage is pretty durable. Removable back and battery you can get batteries up to 10,000 ma. Also the audio capabilities of the V20 is amazing and the camera is light years ahead of the X727. However the T-Mobile V20 is pretty much locked down and unless you find out that haven't been updated since mid last year you won't have root or custom ROMs. The unlocked over sells for $100 more for that reason. I still have my x727 and love the fact that there are so many options for Roms and the front spacing speakers are great for games.

You were right about the lack of QC3 support on those USB-C replacement boards. I asked the seller on eBay and he cancelled the sale and issued a full refund. Back to square one.
i buyed mine for 170

Software is everything. It's why the Nexus 6P takes such good pictures even compared to newer phones with better SoCs and camera modules, like the OP3T or even the 5T.
That said, unofficial Gcam ports really boost the image quality of this device and many others.

Yes, but that all depends on the camera application you use, for example, if you use google gcam the quality of the LEX727's camera will improve in a very special way

No, good hardware + good software = good photo. Nexus 6P uses amazing IMX378 which is much better than IMX298 (OP3T) and IMX398 (OP5T), even the latter two are newer.
